Like many Fire Island homes, this one has the kitchen and hang-out spaces on top and the bedrooms below. We were 9 adults for two nights and 7 adults the rest. While there were 9, two slept on the new and very comfy foldout couch futon upstairs in the common space. When we were 7, one adult took the bunk room. We were there during a heat wave and used the air conditioners in the bedrooms for the first few nights, then got used to using fans and taking advantage of one of the best features of this house - the incredible cross breezes of this nest in the sky. Everyone reported sleeping well. The kitchen was well-stocked, the appliances new, and on the deck, a grill, a great washer and dryer and spare fridge/freezer. Also, beach umbrellas and chairs, a few rafts and beach toys for the kids, ping pong, foosball and a hot tub! The owners recently re-did the lighting and entertainment system so that you could watch netflix and other apple tv apps, dish channels and listen to music outside. We were able to have nice atmospheric lighting. The kitchen seems to be new too - with a beautiful stone backsplash. Owners and managers were communicative. There's a cart available to renters at the ferry which can be unlocked with a code. Supermarket on the mainland delivered to Davis Park ferry landing! We took a water taxi to other parts of the island but mostly enjoyed being on the beach near the edge of Davis Park. Watch Hill campground is not far from there. There's a wonderful chock-full of info 3 ring binder for guests with tips on the local restaurant and bar, post office, medical resources, history of Davis Park and Fire Island, etc. Neighbors were friendly. We never felt like outsiders even though I sensed many of the people there had been coming for generations. We didn't have a dog, but this sure looks like a dog friendly part of Fire Island and we had excellent dog-watching, not to mention birds and stars. I would just note that the bunk room isn't really a great option for a tall person or two adults, so a group of more than 7 might means that folks are sleeping on the new and comfortable futon couch-beds upstairs. The longer we stayed the more we realized how well thought out the house was. Even the garbage and recycling in the kitchen and at the end of the walkway - very easy, airtight, and tons of room. Thanks for a great stay!
