My family and I have just returned, having spent two weeks at the property. The location is idyllic and the views surrounding the property are breathtaking. It really is the sort of holiday to book if you want to get away from it all. We spent most of our days by the pool which was cleaned everyday and secluded from the two cave houses. The Negratin Reservoir is about a five minute drive from the property with a restaurant close to the shore where again the views are stunning and the sunsets amazing, you can also swim in the water, but there’s little shade, so a parasol is advisable.
Alberto is friendly and accommodating and extremely quick to reply to any questions. Local conveniences in Freila are again a short car drive away and in Baza (about a 20 minute drive) bigger supermarkets, bars and restaurants are available. There is also a bakery not far from Freila and on the way to Baza as well.
The cave keeps a cool temperature throughout the day, so it feels as if there’s air conditioning, especially in the back rooms. The rooms are spacious, we went as an adult family of six and there was plenty of room for us all.
Grenada is well worth a visit, we visited twice whilst we were there, the Alahambra Palace and Generalife are beautiful and the bars and restaurants are in abundance, it really is a lovely city.
We would strongly recommend this property for any family looking fir a peaceful retreat, the other families who occupied the adjacent property whilst we were there were polite and respectful of our privacy; there is enough space between the properties not to feel overlooked at all. You will need a hire car, but the journey is pretty straightforward, so it should only take just over an hour to get there, the scenery is beautiful on route anyway. Lots to do; Grenada, Guadix, Carzola, Sierra Nevada. it really is a beautiful part of Spain.
