Although facilities were as described, the property was tired with plumbing, boiler, and Internet issues. The owner was very keen to help, but terribly slow Internet, no water pressure, and a scalding shower in both ensuite rooms were frustrating. The adjacent, unoccupied half of the property was a building site, and it was quite dirty throughout. The windows have gaffer tape on them, and the curtains on all windows are white, so do not make any attempt to reduce the summer light pouring in through them. The owner was very keen to help, such as getting the Internet speed issues addressed, but this only led to a 1% increase (to about 8% of what is the usual speed for rural England). Outdoor furniture was broken or unstable. The lighting inside was varied and very cold, so not comfortable at all (cold LED and fluorescent lights everywhere). The instructions were also quite confusing and very unwelcoming - whilst I understand they are a requirement, the tone was very demanding, at times it felt like we would be told off! The generosity of the owner was a pleasant surprise with a basket of goodies, but this made the place feel any better.I am sorry to say I would not recommend this property to anyone. We got the impression we could walk along the river, but access is along a busy road. Road noise is also an issue as the property is very close to a major road with car and motorbike noise 24/7.
