I stayed at Oscar’s for 3 nights in late March, along with my husband, my 79 year old mother, my daughter (23) and son (21). It provided a peaceful and comfortable haven for us during an emotional visit, following a family bereavement. The house is charmingly furnished and manages to be both cosy and spacious at the same time, allowing a diverse group the opportunity to gather together easily, but also to have their own space and privacy as required.
All of the bedrooms have their own character, 4 of the 5 being King/double and all are lovely, so no fights over who got which one. 3 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet made sure there were no queues for a shower at peak times.
The position on the marina is fabulous, with lovely vistas at dawn and dusk in particular. We enjoyed strolling along the coastal path, which runs for miles in both directions, and would particularly recommend the 20 minute walk to The Jamaica Inn for a great atmosphere and good service.
We only had one car and were able to park right outside in the same spot, although spaces are not formally allocated.
Although the reason for our visit to the area was not for pleasure, it was lovely staying at Oscar’s and I would not hesitate to recommend it or to book it again in the future.
