Our stay at Casa Alta Vista was awesome. The house was very clean when we arrived, and Stephen was very helpful during our check-in process. He told us about the local area, and gave us some good info on making the most out of our stay. The view was just incredible, and the house had so many outdoor spaces to enjoy it from. The view looks down on the "Whale's Tale" beach at Uvita. You could honestly just spend hours staring at it. We were lucky enough to catch a whale jumping out of the water as we ate breakfast outside on the first morning. We also saw monkeys, toucans, parrots, and an agouti on the property.
The location is pretty convenient to attractions as well. Dominical, Uvita, Nauyaca Falls, and more are all convenient to the area. Manuel Antonio and Jaco are a little further away, but we made day trips to those areas as well.
Be prepared for the drive up to the house. It requires 4-wheel drive, and can be a little scary at first, but it is safe, and you get totally used to it after a couple days. The house is in the Jungle on a mountain, so it's septic system doesn't allow for the flushing of toilet paper, you must throw it away. This wasn't nearly as big of a deal as it seemed at first, and is pretty standard in this area. There are also rolling brown outs in these areas of Costa Rica. This is also pretty standard, and we weren't really bothered by it. We weren't there to watch TV or anything like that.
This was our first stay in Costa Rica, and everyone had a blast. I would absolutely recommend Casa Alta Vista to anyone looking to stay in the Dominical area.
