Host was very communicative and helpful. The cabin is charming and full of character. Cabin was surprisingly warm despite a freezing windstorm. The lofts were quite enjoyable for our kids. Matresses were comfortable considering it's a cabin. Great bathroom and kitchen. Highly recommend. Cabin was not the cleanest but I think this is due to previous guests not the host.

Place was clean and nice. We just wanted a quiet weekend in a cabin and it was perfect. Close enough to hit Cooperstown as well. There were several beds so enough room for se eral people. Only precaution i would note is the wood stove is nice but also hot so i would not recommend the stay for families with toddlers

Always a great time here at the cabin. 3rd year here and already booked for 2026. Best host and hostesses of any place i have ever stayed. Strong recommendation to book , not just during my hunting season in November. lol As advertised and more! You will not disappointed with this choice, i promise.

Very cozy log cabin in a beautiful area of NY. We had a great time relaxing and visiting The Baseball Hall of fame in Cooperstown. Peter was great at communicating with us. My only suggestion would be to grocery shop before you get there. There are some well equipped gas stations that carry food about 10 minutes away but the closest grocery store is 25-30 minutes. If we are ever in the area, we would love to stay here again!

The cabin felt secluded and comfortable. A perfect location to do things. Some what clean. Had cooking utensils needed for cooking. Easy to find, access and host was available if needed.

We were in town for a wedding and a weekend of RnR. This is the perfect spot for that! The cabin was very clean and cozy. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch swing and evening drinks by the fire while listening to nature. It truly was a great location to unwind and recharge. If we are ever back in the area, we will be booking this cabin!! A communication with Peter, he was the best host ive ever encountered while booking a trip. Highly recommend.

This home gave us a cozy, comfy, and quiet place to spend time as a family before dropping our son at college. Peter was such a kind and welcoming host :-) I'd love to visit again. *One thing to be aware of - the sleep lofts are actual lofts with ladders so be aware if you are bringing very young children or older adults.

We stayed for Baseball HOF weekend. Easy 25 minute drive to Cooperstown. Perfect setting in the woods for our family of five. Kids loved of loft sleeping areas. Host was very responsive to my questions and kind. Great place and would stay there again when visiting!

I’ve taken my family on many trips and stayed in many rental properties. This place was something my wife and two children will never forget. The cabin is exactly as described, extremely clean and spacious with a wonderful outdoor layout. What is different about this property is the way it makes you feel. For lack of a better term this place is alive ! There is a peaceful aura that is unmistakable as soon as you pull up in the driveway. The next few nights are spent realizing that the best things in life are time spent with family making wonderful memories. This cabin brings out those realizations and feelings and I as a father am very thankful for the opportunity to stay here. We are already looking forward to coming back.

Perfect stay and excellent property manager

We had an amazing time at the log cabin. Peter was the best property manager we have dealt with. Everything was clean and instructions were clear. We ended up staying for a couple of snow days and the cabin was equipped with everything from cooking to snow removal. Thank you Peter and family again for an amazing stay.

great cozy get-away

This is a real log cabin get-away. Surrounded by trees and far from other homes, it is cozy and private. We only used the downstairs but there are two loft spaces upstairs which would be perfect for kids. You do have to bring your own linens and clean when you leave, but that keeps the cost down (since they don't charge an additional cleaning fee like many places do). You can tell it's someone's home which is sweet. We would def go back!

Peaceful and relaxing

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, as this was my first ever solo trip. However, I could not have been more happier. Working a very demanding job and being heavily depended on at home, it wanted to reconnect and take time to be a bit selfish. This place not only provided me that solace, but provided the comfort and space to just breathe and think about me, just for a small bit of time.With how BEAUTIFUL it is while snowing, I can only imagine what it is like in the Spring/Summer time. I will definitely be coming back, but with others, as the beauty and magic of this cabin HAS to be shared.

This property is a unique piece of heaven in the woods near a small town and close to Cooperstown and several college towns. One of its treasures is the long stream of people who have rented it with an appreciation for nature and respect for the next guests. People have renewed their relationships, gotten married, had honeymoons, made decisions and held family reunions here. Children have enjoyed a treasure hunt we provide and the joy of learning to skip stones, find fossils and roast marshmallows in the fire pit under a star filled sky.

We feel that this property is a gift to us to be shared, and it's our joy to read the guest book comments. We keep the costs as low as possible so families on budgets can afford a bonding moment with each other and nature. Profits from the rentals go into cabin upkeep and improving the lives of people in third world countries - most recently food and a sanitation facility in a very remote village. We welcome you to join us in making the world a kinder place.
