My husband and I along with our two adult children and their spouses had a great time at Lake St. Catherine. The house was very comfortable and clean. We brought our kayaks and were able to launch them from the dock area. There were grocery stores and shopping opportunities in nearby towns. Unfortunately, my husband had recent surgery and access to the lake was difficult for him.

Family vacation

The camp was clean and advertising correct, lots of stairs We had a small dock, boat broken down had friends helped they had to dock us and themselves owner was not happy with that situation. Or with being picked up at our dock by other boats. Camp very hot bring fans Over all nice place quiet location.

Relaxing atmosphere and incredible views.

We loved our stay and time at the lake cottage. Views were incredible and so relaxing. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Would like to go back in the summer .

Great family time !

Camp Rocky Top was everything described by Marie and Peter. The location, was a bit out of the way for our grandchildren to enjoy the lake , but we still had a great family experience. The camp itself was clean and a very peaceful location. Marie and Peter were around if needed and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you both for a memorable family vacation. The Howe Family

Great

Everything was as described and we had a great time. We had everything we needed because of the communication before hand. The one upgrade that could be done would be a window unit ac. During the day it would get warm in there but That is 90 percent of the camps there. All in all it was a great place.

Amazing lakeside getaway

Marie's cabin is exactly like pictured, with all the amenities for a secluded getaway surrounded by beautiful nature. My partner and I stayed a week here during the peak of fall foliage. It was so peaceful and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. We warmed up by the firepit, gazed at the Milkyway, made use of the canoe that's provided, and enjoyed many peaceful morning coffees at the lakeside dock. The cabin is situated at the end of a dirt road so there is zero traffic or noise. The lake definitely elevates the cabin to the next level, it was so beautiful especially with the fall colors; you can see it from the front deck, can walk to the water via a stretch of stairs and a dirt path. There is a small state park at the other side of the lake that was perfect for a walk or bike ride. The cabin itself was very cozy, with cabin-esque decorations throughout, and all the amenities for cooking and relaxing. There is no cell phone signal nearby (Sprint or AT&T), but the cabin has good wifi to support remote working, video calls, etc. We'd love to come back in the future and soak up the beautiful VT scenery.

Very enjoyable stay

Our family had a wonderful time. We were provided plenty of info in advance and communication was very helpful. We also appreciated how clean everything was when we arrived. The lake is serene, the house was great for kids and the surrounding area provided lots of opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Highly recommend.

Awesome lake getaway

We had a great time at the lake. The house was cozy and well appointed. It is a short walk down to the lake and the water is clean and warm for swimming off the dock. We enjoyed using the floats provided but did find the kayak was difficult to get into the water. The owners were responsive and friendly. We enjoyed grilling our meals and fires in the backyard fire pit at night. The house could be improved with a washer, drier and some window AC units as the house can get very hot on the hottest summer days (there are plenty of fans though.) The area is a bit remote but there is a convenience store that serves food and ice cream on the lake. Overall, a great stay.

A Lake Oasis

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our week stay ay Camp Rockytop. Perched on a hill above the lake, this cottage and its yard provides a quiet, secluded place to enjoy Lake St. Catherine. While the steps up and down the hill provide a bit of a workout, they also add charm! The swimming area was great == there is plenty of morning sun for early risers because the dock faces East. My son caught a 27" Brown Trout just offshore which made his vacation! Thank you for sharing your cottage and waterfront with us!

Wonderful stay!

My husband, 3 year old daughter and I had such a wonderful time spending 2 weeks at Camp Rockytop. The house was super clean and Marie and Peter were very responsive and helpful in answering any questions we had. The lake is spectacular-we had a blast canoeing across to the playground at the state park, and the loon calls at night were magical. What a special spot. Thank you so much!

Wonderful getaway

Beautiful home with amazing views of the lake. Inside was clean and comfy - I could see staying here in the summer and swimming, kayaking, etc. But staying here when the weather is cold is also wonderful! We had a great time, relaxing and staying cozy inside the house. Definitely will be returning!

Good place to social distance

We came here to see the foliage and also to get away from everything. The house is in a nice remote location, very private with no one in the back. The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed. You get a nice view of the lake from the front of the house and front deck . Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed our time.

Can’t Wait to Return

The cottage was exactly what we were hoping for and more! My family loved the view and access to the lake. We jumped off the dock every day and played in the refreshing water. The cottage was bigger than we expected and there was ample room for everyone. We loved the setting and went on a wonderful hike recommended to us by the owners who were lovely and accommodating. Our teen kids loved a day trip to the Adventure Center at Killington and a local ATV ride. We are excited to return next summer!

Never would have rented if the add showed stairs

I’ll begin by saying that the check in process was simple and the owners were quick to respond. Everything else went downhill from there. We arrived at a set of stairs that have to be 20-30 feet high that have the house number on them. My wife and I couldn’t believe it, we were then met by the owners who said to follow them up the road which goes up and around to the house. We were then told that we could drive the car down to the bottom of the stairs and leave it there while we were at the water. It’s either that or walk down and then climb back up the stairs. The stairs and their length/height were not shown or described in the listing. Also there was really no view of the lake as this “lakefront” house is actually behind the actual lakefront homes. We never would have rented this place had we been able to see actual pictures of the stairs and views from house. Needless to say we made it until Tuesday and packed up and left 5 days early. The ad was deceptive and should include a picture of those stairs and “view”. If those were included in the listing we never would have rented it.

Relaxing Week at Rockytop

We just spent a most relaxing and battery-recharging week at Camp Rockytop on Lake Saint Catherine! What was a typical day like: coffee on the deck with a calming view of the morning sun on the lake, then a swim, followed by a bike ride, followed by another swim, followed by a kayak ride, followed by another swim... you get the idea :-). The house is very comfortable and so wonderfully private and quiet. The owners (Marie and Peter) were so friendly and helpful -- they made sure we were comfortable and gave us some good tips (like a great hike on the other side of the lake). This is a great spot if you want to unwind, breathe in the country air, and enjoy lots of lake-related fun!

Lake house vacation

My sons and I were looking for a local getaway since we couldn’t travel too far because of COVID-19. I found this wonderful and private lakeside property through a friend which was listed on Vrbo. The owner was very helpful, responsive, and friendly too. The house was very clean, nicely furnished, and had all the amenities we were looking for. We had a great week and hope to return!

Growing up in New York City as a child my family began renting a cottage on Lake St Catherine over fifty years ago. As I got older my dream was to own my own place at the lake. For seventeen years my wife and I along with our two children have enjoyed four seasons of fun at our own year round vacation property. Several years ago we purchased and moved into an adjoining property at the lake and have since decided to rent our home for others to enjoy.
