>Time to book your vacation for spring and summer. Our chalet is welcoming you with open arms.
This is a family home and we welcome all ages for family fun and togetherness.
We have taken precautions and used enhanced cleaning with sanitizers and wipes. Even the doorknobs and handles.

Large deck with a beautiful view over magnificent Lake Tahoe. Our Swedish Chalet is homey and kid friendly with lots of games, toys, puzzles and beach toys. . For big kids: lots of games in the cupboards. Also lots of cycling and hiking trails. Many beautiful beaches all around and boat rentals.
Large deck off main floor with umbrella table and comfortable chairs and chaises. BBQ and a great place to watch boats go by.


Old world classic charm with Swedish art and decorations throughout.

This custom designed, three story, Chalet in North Lake Tahoe's prestigious 'Dollar Point' is a wonderful Family vacation home, close to the lake. The kitchen features hand made pine cabinets and is adjacent to the spacious living/dining area with a huge lovely wood burning/gas fireplace and lots of seating. Bring the kids and enjoy the large deck and expansive lake views. BBQ on the deck while watching the boats.

The kitchen is fully equipped. You will be able to set a nice table in the dining room or enjoy going out to one of the many fine restaurants in the area. Ill be happy to recommend some of our favorites. Eating bar between kitchen and dining table for extra seating or serving. Fully stocked with all the spices you need and pots and pans.

Two King beds, one queen and one double. One of the bathrooms has a very popular steam shower.
Huge picture windows and high 18 foot beamed ceilings. The ambiance and feeling in this home makes for a great family vacation. .
Second floor: King bed, Queen bed with bath and bathtub..
Lower floor: King bed, Double bed and one bunk bed.
The amenities include: . Bikers: Trails all around. Boaters: Coast guard pier with ramp within a mile. Many rental boat places. Skiing: 15 -30 minutes to Squaw, Alpine, Homewood, Northstar and Diamond Peak .Skylandia beach is within 10 minutes. Reno airport is one hour drive away.
A full week rental and preferably from Sunday to Sunday is preferred but shorter stays are acceptable.
Amicable, negotiable and easy owners to deal with. Just contact me with any concerns and I will respond immediately.


We have Wireless , of course.
A word of caution: Pine needles are a nuisance with all the huge trees all around. br>Please do not disturb the peace and quiet in our lovely neighborhood. If partying on the deck, for instance, be respectful of the neighbors. No loud noise on deck. no parties and no big groups are allowed. No music on deck!
Carpeting taken out and new flooring installed throughout.
Beach, tennis and pool are limited to home owners onlyl Many beautiful beaches all around. The Common Beach right in Tahoe City is a wonderful place and also Sand Harbor.

Relaxing and amazing stay

We had a great stay, nice view and relaxing. House is very spacious for a large group, clean and also relatively close to the lake if you like a nice walk/hike. I highly recommend this location. Also, the management was very responsive. Overall, awesome experience!

Tahoe Chalet

My family and I got away for the 4th. I has a nice view of the lake with a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed staying in this quaint Chalet. It had plenty of beds and rooms for our crowd.

It is a unique Swedish style house. Nice view of the Lake. Enough rooms for 12 people. Nice family/living space for gathering. Host was very prompt and understanding.

Great stay in Tahoe

This is a great place to stay for a good size group. We had four adults and seven children with plenty of room for everyone. The owner is very responsive to any questions. The house is nice and well cared for and the location is wonderful.

Wonderful stay!

This was a wonderful place to gather and enjoy time together at Tahoe! There was plenty of space for everyone to stretch out and have their own private rooms. Birgitta was very responsive and helpful all the way through! We hope to stay here again in the future.

Great location

House was just what we wanted- big enough to fit all of us, ideal location, and an elevated porch with lake view that I could have spent all day on. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed plus plenty of dishes and silverware for all of us. Will definitely look to stay here again. Thank you!

Winter Wonderland

Had a beautiful vacation this winter complete with 29” of snow. The cabin was large enough for our extended family and everyone was comfortable. The manager was very responsive and easy to work with. Highly recommended.

Perfect for a family vacation with accessibility needs

Birgitta is super responsive with communication, which is very helpful. The property is not only beautiful but well-equipped with everything you need. The kitchen is nicely stocked, too. There are very few properties available that are both wheelchair accessible and dog-friendly, and this house suited all of our needs,

Cozy and Clean

The accommodations were just what we were looking for. My husband and me, our married daughters and their families (6 adults and 4 children) all fit comfortably in the home. The house was very clean and welcoming. The owner is very nice and answers questions quickly. Highly recommend.

Over the moon!

If you are looking to turn back the clock or even stop it for a couple of days so that you can bring the family or friends together for memories which will last a lifetime, this is the place for you! Worked well for our large group!

House is exactly as described, a wonderful place for our family reunion. The great room and deck was perfect for hanging out. Beach a short walk down the hill with chairs and all. Kitchen small but functional and well stocked. Beds very comfortable. As others have stated house is a bit dated, but that adds to the charm. Sofa does need to be replaced, it is well worn. The owner was a delight to work with. Did not realize there were no beach towels, so don’t forget to bring your own.

Of course, you get five stars for being the best tenants ever - the way you left our home was incredible! I am so happy that you enjoyed our home even the "dated look" We also think the old fashioned mountain/lake look is charming and adds to the ambiance. We agree that the leather sofa need to be replaced and we will do so ASAP. Also, after you comment about the beach towels, we will buy a bunch and provide them for the guests. Homey Comfort

We really enjoyed our recent stay in Birgitta's home. The beds were comfortable, the living space very warm and relaxing, and the porches and view of the lake are wonderful. The house also has a wealth of cooking supplies that were very much appreciated. There are a couple areas the house is starting to show its age. As well, the dishes, silver wear, and plates were in need of a clean when we arrived. Birgitta was very easy to work with and she was very helpful with providing a high chair and a portable crib...that made traveling with our 9 month old a little easier. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and would be very happy to return here on a future trip.

Lovely Home in a Great Neighborhood

Our family traveled from all over the US to meet in Lake Tahoe for what turned out to be a FABULOUS vacation! This chalet rental was a perfect size for us and allowed us to spread out throughout the home. The convenient bunk beds in one bedroom were great for the kids…and the bedroom nestled in the corner on the ground level offered tons of privacy with a private deck and a full bathroom right next door. The beds were amazingly comfortable too! If you have a big family and want to be comfortable, this is the home for you! Also…the kitchen was very well stocked with condiments galore, teabags, coffee filters, cooking oils, and all types of vinegars. No need to bring soaps either as the bathrooms were well stocked with body washes, shampoo, and conditioners. Dish and laundry detergent all included as well. Very convenient! We had an excellent vacation and we’re already planning the next one 😊

Overall recommend the place and it was a wonderful stay. For reference we were 7 adults and 2 children though 2 of the adults ended up not staying the night with us as they live nearby.Pros: large viewing back deck of lake with chairs, table and lounger, short commute to skylandia and lake Forrest beach and everything Tahoe City has to offer. Large dinning table, ample kitchen supplies such as dishes and glasses and pots and pans (we made nearly all meals at the house), sufficient parking. A full bathroom on all 3 floors. Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels. Appreciated the games and toys. Carpet on decending stairs for safety. BBQ worked. Cons: the check in process lacked an arrival FAQ such as how to obtain the wifi, or work the TV, or how to process trash, get the house cool, etc. Granted it was July and the house didn't say it had AC but the main living room ceiling fan didnt work. The washing machine door was ajar and was sketchy to work so we didnt attempt it. The dishwasher did work but the front door film came off revealing all under components. The BBQ wasn't cleaned so we had to clean deeply before use. The house is pet friendly so we expected some pet dander but there was more hair than expected and the vacuum cleaner at the house didnt work it just picks up dirt moves it forward. The upstairs bathroom has a very small ceiling for shower and the downstairs bathroom is barely adult size in general. Lastly, having Dollar Point Private Beach Access was be ideal.

Great spot for family

This was our second time in this house. Great for a large family. There were 10 of us plus the dog and everyone had a bedroom. Three bathrooms helped a lot. The view from the loft, as well as the back deck is wonderful. Ate most of our meals outside. We noticed there were less people and less bugs in late August. Will go back again.

Could not go

Poor air quality made my family not able to go!! I got the insurance!!! They informed me not covered !!! I use Vrbo many times in 1 yr. Think I should try something else. Disappointed in insurance coverage Don’t feel I was treated fairly

Great location and view for family vacation

Check-in instructions given early and super easy. Very clean and as described. It was a great size for our family group -4 single adults and 3 teenagers—plenty of beds, bedrooms, and chairs at the table. . Well-stocked kitchen and game/puzzle cabinet. Perfect for a family getaway.

Our extended family had a great weekend. We loved the deck and the beautiful view of the lake.

It is a perfect place for a large family or several small families.

It is perfect, warm, plenty or room for sleeping, eating, playing games or just enjoying the fire. Several tv's although we only watched the one in the main room with the fireplace. Enjoyed the steam shower. we would go back although it is usually hr to get everyone together because of busy lives. Only plus for covid. Definitely recommend.

Great location!

Enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the deck, what a beautiful view! House had everything you could need and more. Beds were comfortable. Great local restaurants down the street.

I live in Ventura County but go to Lake Tahoe as often as I can.
The Swedish chalet has been in the family for many years and we update it often and keep it fresh, comfortable and exciting for our guests. You will make wonderful memories when you stay in this very special and loved home.

We fell in love with beautiful Lake Tahoe when we came from Sweden and built the classic European chalet. Tahoe is the ultimate vacation spot with its majestic mountains and also beautiful beaches. We loved it from the start, and believe you will also. Our home has all the amenities and charm to make it a comfortable vacation. We aim to please and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. The children and grandchildren have loved all their vacations and holidays there . Christmas at Dollar Point is a tradition for many years and very special in our hearts.

Dollar Point is the best place for fun and convenience. It is close to town, Tahoe City, for shopping, restaurants and museums.
Our favorite restaurants are: Jake's , Sunnyside,Garwoods, River Ridge and the Bridge Tender for hamburgers.
Favorite skiing: Palisades, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, Diamond Peak.
Biking: from Tahoe City to Squaw.
Beaches: Skylandia, Sand Harbor
Short Hike: From the chalet to the Dollar Reservoir..
