Had a fabulous stay! Felt like being at home for a week, our boys loved the toys and new books to read. We loved the hot tub and the big comfy king bed! Everything was well stocked, was one of our best VRBO stays to date! Would recommend and have already passed the listing on to other friends, we can't wait to come back!

Cozy vacation home. Great location and wonderful owner.

My family celebrated Fourth of July with a weekend at Lux. It has a beautiful wooded back yard and all the amenities you need to prepare your own meals. Patricia went above and beyond to help when I left a charging cord behind.

The first day we saw two deer and a wild turkey in the back yard. Very exciting! It is a perfect location to visit the beaches of Lake Michigan. Four adults, one teenager and one three year old had plenty of space!

We really enjoyed our time at Lux Nest! Patricia was very communicative and had created a binder with instructions, menus, and other materials that made our stay even better. The hot tub was incredible and so appreciated enjoying those jets. The green space in the backyard is very peaceful and swinging on the bench swing near the fire pit was the relaxation that I so needed. I know that the two of us are primed to return to the Lux Nest in the future!

Great house by the beach

Spacious and well appointed! My 7 year old loved the bunk bed, toys, and books. My 12 year old loved the cool basement hangout. And the adults loved the hot tub! The kitchen is well stocked with all the things you might need: toaster, blender, casserole dishes, etc. I loved the wooded walk to Herbert Beach. Easy enough to drive over and park there too, if you have lots of beach gear to haul. We hope to come back again!

I am a born-and-bred city girl, having grown up less than a mile south of Wrigley Field in East Lakeview, a bustling Chicago neighborhood. I went to both public and parochial schools in Chicago and my summers were spent at the Chicago Park District's day camps and swimming in Lake Michigan. I love The Lake.

Although I left Chicago for college and travel, I couldn't get Chi-town out of my system and returned there when I was 27. I am now a Chicago Public School teacher and live in Chicago (of course!) five miles west of Wrigley with my husband, two kids, and a dog.

Every summer, I would spend hours in Lake Michigan and I've never wanted to be far from it. It was a life long dream to have a "summer home" where I could invite my friends and family and the kids could roam the roads and collect toads and rocks, the adults could unplug, we could spend days at the beach or hanging in the yard, we could grill our dinners, unwind at a local bar or around the fire, and really connect with the people that matter most and make memories that will last a lifetime. I looked for this special place for years.

And then I found it! The Lux Nest is everything I envisioned! The yard has the perfect climbing tree, a creek to explore, the right amount of shade for a restful nap in the hammock, a hot tub to melt the stress away, a finished basement for extra living space, and an easy drive from Chicago.

I fell in love. I've loved every minute I've spent there and I'm so happy to be able to share it.
