Great stay overall. The host was very nice, helpful and easy to communicate with. Everything went smoothly and I enjoyed my stay. Just something to be aware of before booking, there is a connected unit where other Vrbo guests may be staying. The units are separate, but I think it’s helpful to know ahead of time. Other than that, I had a good experience and would recommend the stay.

Attractive, comfortable, lovely quiet surroundings

Delightful home, conveniently located. All desired amenities present and bed most comfortable. Jim and Kathy were so friendly and helpful...excellent hosts. The fresh tomatoes were a real bonus! We would for sure stay here again.

Comfortable home away from home

Our stay was comfortable and quiet - everything we needed for our visit. We loved the cozy and charming environment, especially the little electric fireplace. We love to cook and it was a well-equipped kitchen. Close to everything we needed. Very friendly and helpful host!

Listing claimed access to driveway. When we arrived we were told we had to park in the street because driveway was being used fo our whole 16 day stay. We were told to park on the street. But sign said no parking on Mondays? There was food in the refrigerator and freezer. All her personal items were throughout the whole house. Even her loufa and back scrubber were hanging from shower caddy with all her stuff. A female was seen entering the residence from a sliding glass door at the back of the house. Not sure if it was the host or another renter. Either way, it was not disclosed that someone else would be sharing the house. We were not comfortable with that so we canceled.

Great location and price, but we understand pricing since we were sharing the space with owner's personal items. They were mostly pushed aside so we would have space. She was personable and wanted to make us comfortable. Shower controls need service.

Lovely home

There are so many lovely things in this home -- there are stained glass windows, interesting plates, chandeliers, plus lots of other features. Like a bedroom full of books and puzzles a child would love, with its own Playstation and a wall-mounted TV. Plus a big TV in the den area, as well as a small one wall-mounted in the larger bedroom. My husband could set up his work computer on the breakfast room table, and it does have a stacking washer/dryer, as well as a dishwasher, microwave and more. It isn't a large house, but is much larger than a hotel room. We were there 9 days, and used it as a good base of operations. It was a comfortable and memorable place to stay.

Home on a Tree Lined Street

I enjoyed staying at this home which was located in a safe residential neighborhood on a tree lined street. Enjoyed my morning coffee sitting on the front porch glider observing the black squirrels and landscaped flowers. The location is good with supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacies located within one half mile. The airport is also in close proximity. Found the home to be clean, well equipped and comfy. I would definitely recommend the Sugar Shack to anyone seeking a home away from home.

Clean updated home in quiet neighborhood

First of all Jim and Kathy were great throughout the process! They were prompt to answer any and all questions while we were considering the property and after we booked. They made sure that we had everything we needed for our family (two adults and three children). The bedrooms were comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were very nice. We had all the comforts of home and were able to prepare meals and pack lunches for most of our outings, as well as do laundry. The neighborhood is very quiet and the nearby park was great to walk to when the kids needed a little exercise. The Kroger store was very convenient for groceries and it was a quick scoot over to the Henry Ford or Greenfield Village. We did not spend a great deal of time at the house itself, since we were running most of the time, but when we were there it had everything we needed. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely stay again when we come to visit family in the Detroit area.

family visit

We chose this property because of its affordable price and nice location. The owners were helpful and welcoming. We wanted a safe, quiet place to stay and the house was just that. Very clean and comfortable also. Had a very nice stay, thanks!

Owners were very nice and enthusiastic about the whole thing!

The house is perfect for a family. Spacious and open layout inside and out. My husband, I and 3 of our kids were very comfortable and all loved it. Well worth it.

Adam and Mckayla were excellent guests ! They looked after our home as if it were there very own. Given the opportunity we would definitely rent to them again. Great family !
