The Wi-Fi didn’t work after all our efforts to fix it, I even reset it back to factory which should have reinstated the original password.. However, this didn’t spoil the holiday, but turned out to be the least of the problems.
The downstairs bedroom remained musty as the radiator didn’t work at all, I tried bleeding it, and put the stat up to max, but still nothing. This will have contributed to the damp musty smell, that caused our friends wife to use one of the singles upstairs.
Worst problem and really unacceptable was the shower. The upstairs one only works for a minute before running out of water and making the pump scream – this was even though the control was at less than half full on. It was even worse when the shower downstairs was running at the same time as neither worked for long. The downstairs one worked reasonably well provided the pump wasn’t turned full on. Even then we had to wait between showers for the tank to refill. Thank God we didn’t have 6 of us after all, as it would have taken all morning to shower.
Clearly the hot and cold supplies to the two showers are inadequate.
As an aside, I would also comment that the upstairs cubicle is very small, and in such a big bathroom they could have fitted a far bigger enclosure. I struggled to get down to wash my feet until the shower stopped and I had to go downstairs covered in soap!! I'm not massive....
Finally, the information really should advise the garage dimensions, as we only just got our Skoda Kodiaq in, which is a reasonably large SUV, but larger vehicles like Range Rover, Discovery, Volvo XC90 and the like just would not fit. As it was, I could only just get out of the car once parked.
All of this is a great shame, as the property itself was lovely, well equipped and in a perfect location.
We will come to Dartmouth again, in fact we stayed in one of your cottages two years ago, but we wouldn’t stay at Number 20 again unless the shower and Wi-Fi were fixed, and we would bring a smaller car.
We would also recommend it is these matters were resolved
I hope you find these criticisms constructive.
