The Perfect Relaxing Stay!

Summer holiday

Brian and Helen are fantastic hosts and have thought of everything to make your stay fantastic. (Including the kids choclatines -Helen) The accommodation and facilities are absolutely first class and we can't wait to visit again.

Fantastic!

Our family had a fantastic stay with Brian and Helen. The property is beautiful, excellent standard and we quickly relaxed into our holiday. Lanquais is lovely and quiet and located well for day trips in the Dordogne. Brian and Helen are so welcoming and considerate, they booked dinner reservations, told us about local markets and provided towels for our canoe trip. Truly lovely people, five star accommodation and would highly recommend to anyone with or without children.

Great place to stay

We had a great holiday. Really nice house with a great view in a quite area with several outside spaces. There is a nice restaurant close by and shops at 10 min driving away. The house itself is very nice. Also the little goodies and attentions were nice. Brian and Helen are there to to help and give information. Top here was the swimming pool!!!

Amazing stay with wonderful hosts

Brian and Helen were there to greet us as soon as we arrived, they were so friendly, accommodating and informative. Providing a full guided tour of their beautiful property and the extensive amenities available. Also provided throughout the stay alot of local information on events and things to see and do, best parking locations in local towns etc, which was extremely helpful. Beautiful, quiet and scenic location, with a stunning pool and a lovely local restaurant in the village. accommodation is very well thought out, and extremely well equipped, also the communication leading into the holiday was great and meant we didnt bring things we didn't need. Can't wait to go back and enjoy another fun filled family holiday....would definitely recommend.

Perfectly relaxed

We stayed at Brian and Helen’s property as a family and had a wonderfully relaxing stay. It’s a really big, clean and well equipped property with exceptional views of the stunning surrounding countryside. The pool is fantastic and a great size and we all loved spending time in and around it. Brian and Helen are such considerate hosts and paid attention to every little detail from providing us with welcome goodies on arrival, providing poolside towels, giving us great tips and booking fabulous local restaurants. They were always on hand to help but also left us in peace to enjoy our holiday as a family. The property is in a great location for exploring the area and we would highly recommend!

Best of both worlds

A wonderful location in rural Dordogne with an absolutely fantastic pool, kept in perfect condition.Brian and Helen are kind,considerate and friendly hosts, on hand for help whenever needed but never intrusive.If you enjoy beautiful views,a stroll to an extremely good restaurant and a swim at least 5 times a day,this is the place for you.One week simply wasn't enough in this high standard accommodation.We really appreciated our hosts attention to detail.Thank you for looking after us so well.Jo and Nick

Fabulous Accomodation in Beautiful Rural Setting

Our family had a wonderful week staying with Brian and Helen in their fabulous home in Lanquais. They were tremendous hosts being both attentive and at the same time discrete allowing us to enjoy our time as a family. The accomodation is simply perfect with an attention to detail I’ve rarely seen outside higher end hotels. The beds were incredibly comfortable and Brian kindly facilitated 2 singles for our daughters in their room. The bathrooms were as with everything else superb. The kitchen was very well served with every utensil one could wish for. Externally there are various lovely seating areas with shade and a gas BBQ we used extensively. The saline pool is a uniform depth of approx 1.2m and as with everything else was spotlessly clean and a joy to do endless lengths in. Helen also lent us towels and Brian a map so we could do some river swimming in the Dordogne. Lanquais itself is a small quiet rural commune. We ate at the restaurant Les Marrionniers and had a great meal which we also are happy to recommend. The nearest boulangerie is in the next village and the nearest supermarket is in Lalinde although we preferred the hyper market in Creysse near Bergerac. Issigeac market on Sunday is worth a visit but go early to get parked. Overall can’t recommend highly enough if you desire a quiet relaxing few days in a rural setting

Het was heerlijk. We zijn helemaal in de watten gelegd door Helen en Brian. Een prachtige lokatie met heerlijke faciliteiten. Echt een aanrader !

Eine Wohlfühloase im Perigord

Wir waren im September zu Besuch bei Helen und Brian. Das Ferienhaus ist ein absoluter Geheimtipp, den man eigentlich nicht verraten sollte. Da wir aber auch anderen Urlaubern dieses Glück nicht verwehren wollen, machen wir dies hier gerne publik. Helen und Brian sind sehr liebenswerte und zuvorkommende Gastgeber. Die Unterkunft ist hervorragend und geschmackvoll ausgestattet und blitzsauber. Service wird hier großgeschrieben! Wir mieten seit über 20 Jahren Ferienhäuser in Frankreich, aber diesen Komfort haben wir noch nie erlebt. Der Wohnbereich mit offener Küche ist ausgesprochen großzügig und mit qualitativ hochwertigem Mobiliar eingerichtet. Die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet und das Wohnzimmer sehr gemütlich. Beide Schlafzimmer verfügen über ein eigenes Bad, TV und ausgezeichneten Boxspringbetten. Die WLAN Verbindung ist in allen Räumen ausgezeichnet. Die Fenster sind mit Fliegenschutzgittern ausgestattet. Der Salzwasserpool bzw. die gesamte Poollandschaft sind ein absoluter Traum und ebenfalls mit hochwertigem Mobiliar bestückt. Wir haben die 27 Grad Wassertemperatur sehr genossen. Morgens wird sämtliches Equipment gründlich gereinigt und auch der Pool ist immer perfekt sauber. Hier wird auf jedes Detail geachtet. Angrenzend steht ein sehr schöner Grillplatz zur Verfügung, der ebenfalls sehr luxuriös mit professionellem Gasgrill und vielen Extras ausgestattet ist. Helen und Brian haben immer ein offenes Ohr für die Wünsche der Gäste und versorgen einen mit hilfreichen Tipps. Um es zusammenzufassen: Wer Erholung, Komfort und herzliche Gastfreundschaft sucht ist hier genau richtig. Uns ist die Abreise nach 14 Tagen sehr schwer gefallen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und sicherlich länger verweilen. Wir haben bei Helen und Brian ein zweites Zuhause gefunden!!

Excellent villa with fantastic pool and garden

We have spent an excellent 2 weeks in this very beautiful house, which looks like a castle. We felt very welcome by the hosts Brian and Helen who are really nice. We had the feeling of staying in a 6 star hotel with no other guests. The whole day we relaxed in and outside of the pool, played table tennis and made our dinner on the BBQ (which functions perfectly on gas!). Thank you Brian and Helen for our wonderful holiday.

Une maison irréprochable avec un accueil chaleureux.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans cette grande maison avec une piscine majestueuse chauffée à 25°C minimum. La maison est très spacieuse et d'une propreté irréprochable. Elle est décorée avec beaucoup de goût. La literie est très confortable avec un linge de maison de qualité. Helen et Brian sont très charmants et font tout pour que le séjour soit réussi. Ils s'occupent de l'intendance sans être trop présents. Encore merci pour tout Helen et Brian. Au plaisir de vous revoir.

Gîte et hôtes exceptionnels

Nous avons passés 5 jours superbes dans le gîte. Brian et Helen sont des hôtes remarquables, aux petits soins et qui font tout pour rendre le séjour agréable et confortable. Le gîte est très bien équipé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. La piscine également est magnifique (rarement vu une telle piscine dans un gite). Nous reviendrons avec beaucoup de plaisir.

Your perfect holiday is guaranteed in this guest house

The house is incredibly beautiful and spacious. 2 Couples will have more than enough place to stay. The beds are very comfortable. You can eat either inside or outside (2 terraces, one just outside the kitchen and one downstairs). The kitchen is well equiped and you will have a fantastic BBQ to grill your food on. And the pool ... closer to heaven you won't get. Last but not least, the hosts Helen and Brian are just perfect.

Nature et calme assurés

Le gîte est très grand, confortable, dispose de tous et très propre. La piscine est magique. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques, avenants et très attentifs à ce que tout se passe bien. Le coin est calme et apaisant. Très bonne destination que nous conseillons vivement.

Super location avec piscine

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre semaine à Lanquais dans la maison de Helen et Brian. C'est une bonne base pour découvrir tous les trésors du Périgord. Accueil charmant et très prévenant. La maison est luxueuse et spacieuse. La piscine remplit toutes ses promesses. Séjour 100% réussi !

Un petit coin de paradis sur terre

La maison de style périgourdin est magnifique. La décoration est très soignée et d'excellente qualité. Le confort est total. Les chambres sont équipées de rangements très spacieux et la literie est parfaite (grands lits très confortables). Chaque chambre a une salle de douche digne d'un palace. La pièce de vie (salon, salle à manger, cuisine) est très grande et très bien équipée. Four, microonde, machine à laver, lave-vaisselle, tous les ustensiles de cuisine (ce qui n'est pas toujours le cas en location), TV (que nous n'avons pas utilisée). Les équipements extérieurs sont géniaux. Petite terrasse juste devant la cuisine. Grande terrasse en bas, devant les chambres. Magnifique piscine (elle aussi digne d'un palace) de quelques 16 mètres de long. Table de ping pong. Barbecue tout neuf qui fonctionne à merveille. Tout était parfait !!!! Et en plus, nos hôtes (Brian et Helen) sont charmants, discrets mais toujours là dès que nous avons eu besoin de quelque chose. Cette maison est parfaite pour un couple avec deux enfants ou 2 couples avec 1 bébé ce qui était notre cas.
