Excellent Stay

Excellent stay for 5 people! Apartment was very clean, with all the relevant house products there, and we had only confirmed the stay less than 24 hours before check in. We were travelling to Silverstone for the Formula 1 and The apartment was exactly what we were after. The receptionist were also very helpful for any questions we had. The weather was also very warm so the fans provided were ideal!

Excellent location in Bedford and very nice property

Check in process was smooth and very clearly laid out. We enjoyed our stay. Only a couple small things to mention but did not adversely effect our stay: 1) water temp control in both showers was touchy, did get it where wanted most of time and 80% of time stayed at that temp 2) could have used instruction manual for washer/dryer combo. Doing just a dryer setting was not possible, sure there must be a trick. Would stay again though was location was awesome.

MAIN PROBLEMS SO BAD I SECURED A 75% REFUND THROUGH A USA CREDIT CARD REFUND FILING.Bedroom - Main Single Bed - Unusable. Never replaced. The other bedroom’s twin beds were too short and too narrow and next to shower with mold.En Suite Shower - Mold - Health hazard. Never removed.En Suite Extraction Fan - Mold Problem - Removed after a few days.Satellite TV - Signal Problem for All Channels - Never repaired.Rowing Machine - Landlord specifically confirmed by email before booking the rowing machine was available and working. Reality is the rowing machine had already gone at least a year ago. Flat/Apartment Decor - Online photos show very different and better decorations and linens. In reality, some decorations were even just missing, e.g. dried flowers in pots. Electronic Key Fob For Ground Main Door - Broken. Required to wait many times, extensively for strangers who's fobs worked. Eventually exchanged fob when building staff first available days later.
Room decor was not the same as advertised. Bed was unusable due to bad support. Landlord said he'd talk to staff but it never happened.
Mold in shower grout was never removed

May work for you

On the bright side, the parking is good, Internet is reliable, and the beds are reasonably comfortable. The neighborhood is nice with restaurants and stores within walking distance. Unfortunately, there are a number of problems with this property. When we first arrived we could see that the kitchen trash can had not been cleaned and had no liner. Also, the oven had not been cleaned. There is very little cookware in the kitchen and no dish towels or mittens to use when baking. We only had a partial roll of toilet paper, paper towels and no dish soap. The dish scrubbers were old and dirty. There is a washing machine but no drying rack. The host later sent a housekeeper with supplies after we submitted a list. The windows do not close because the hardware is deranged, and the curtains are in disrepair. We received only one key and the hosts would not provide another upon request. He said it was against company policy and we should leave the key in the lock box. This is a common practice for a rental house; however, doesn’t work in this apartment since you need a key fob to enter the building and the apartment. I guess you are supposed to prop the apartment and outside building doors open then go back downstairs to the dark parking lot to place the keys in the lock box so another guest can use it. Not a good solution. There is a bar down the street with noisy patrons that walk down the street drunk dropping F bombs into the wee hours of the morning. Not the fault of the host, but you should be aware. You may still want to stay here, but should be aware, that it photographs well but is very basic. The description says it is ‘finished to a high level’, although that is subjective, and I wouldn’t say that it is. Think bachelor pad ladies. This is often what you get with a ‘contactless’ rental as opposed to meeting the host and having a relationship. They just want you to send money so they can provide the least and never see your face. I prefer to not leave a bad review, but this rental has too many problems to just not mention it.
