Ground floor access is amazing with young children going back and forth to pool and beach. Room was stocked well with essentials as well as extra beach gear.

Best ever!

My family had an AWESOME time during our stay! Everything was close with easy access (beach, pool, grocery store, and attractions). So much fun, my son (4) kept saying he didn’t want to leave and go home the whole trip back. We will definitely be back!!!

It was wonderful

It was great we always stay at the Islander when we come to Destin. Only thing I didnt like was it was very difficultto change chamnels on the living room tv other than excellent.

Great room great destination!

The room was amazing, a longer walk from the beach than we realized. East side is closer to the beach gate. Very close to the pool, so that was a big plus. The bathtub drain and the master sinks did not drain well at all but we didn't mind too much.

We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities and condition of the property and overall friendliness of the staff. We previously had vacationed on Holiday Isle during Spring Break at another establishment however, when their prices almost doubled, we decided it was time to look elsewhere. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely consider staying here again.

When we visit next time though we may drive instead of flying to save money as the room was basically a condo with no groceries and we couldn't take the fish we caught home after our deep sea fishing trip. Overall I would recommend this location and I hope they did not take any damage from the recent hurricane that hit just east of them.

Reviewer Comments: The condo was in an excellent location from the Destin Executive Airport, our early check in request was available but there condo itself had several none working features. I notified the front desk upon initial inspection of condo that the patio door lock wasn't working properly and didn't get a response until the next day late in afternoon that it should be working. It still wasn't working and maintenance never came and assessed it. We were on first floor and had a baby and needed to feel secure and didn't. Also the beach gate lock wasn't working which would allow anyone to access property and beach. The linens in the condo were in poor condition and several areas in the condo were dusty and looked like they hadn't been cleaned properly including baseboards. Several of the dining room chairs had big stains on them including a very large pink/red stain. A large clock on the wall wasn't working and needed batteries. Also, several outlets didn't have power. The common area by the grills weren't maintained and trash was left on the tables and never picked up.The walls had several areas that were missing paint and needed touched up.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve stayed here many times and always look forward to our week of fun in the sun. This year however, it seems that some attention to details have slipped. For example, the landscape lights weren’t working which makes the walk after dark treacherous. Not far outside our sliding door is the valve box for the sprinklers, and it is a pretty deep and wide hole and therefore a hazard waiting to happen.. Another issue were the gates. We’ve always had the luxury of being in a “gated” community which brings along a sense of safety. Our children have been secure when going to the basketball court or playing tennis because you need a code to enter the gate. The gates were propped open for the majority of our vacation, so anyone could enter the resort. Also, in the laundry room, 1 of the 6 washers and 2 of the 6 dryers were out of order. Finally, our welcome email indicated that Bobby D would be performing on Thursday, so we booked our Pontoon rental for Wednesday so we would be at our condo for the live music - which is a highlight for the week for us. Unfortunately, the info was incorrect and Bobby D was preforming on Wednesday evening instead. It may seem like little things, but we’ve always had superior service at The Islander and have made many trips here with a growing number of families from our home state of Michigan. We have made some great memories at The Islander, and I am hoping that things will improve in the near future otherwise I think we will be picking a different place to continue our family spring break vacations!!l

Not quite as nice as the pictures

We arrived and there was food on the living room floor in multiple places, as well as soap/hair/caked sand in showers. It is stated that there are 2 TVs but only one worked. It’s stated there is washer & dryer but it’s not in the unit, you had to use a community laundry place. The air vents looked super dirty as well. It was a super short walk to the beach & had 2 nice pools.

Great getaway

The unit was perfect for what we needed and being on the first floor turned out to be a plus for our toddler to run outside in the yard while we sipped our morning coffee. The unit was well maintained and aside from the floors needing a mop, was very clean! Fully stocked for all our cooking. The pools and beach are both super close and the chair/umbrella service was great. Would love to come back again!
