Beautiful views in vibrant neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay in this neighborhood. The views of the city walls from our windows were spectacular and there are several excellent restaurants just a stone’s throw from the apartment. I was also glad to have garage parking, though it cost an extra 19 euros a night. The downside to this apartment was three floors of winding, uneven stone steps with no railings. My mother managed to navigate these with the help of a cane, but we would not have stayed here if we had known about the steps.

Perfect Location

This place in Carcassone was perfect for our family vacation. The location could not be better! Our family of 5 spent 2 nights here and it was fantastic for our stay. It was approximately a 5-10 minute walk to the old cite. The place was in an old building, but beautifully maintained. The view from the family room of the castle and ramparts was outstanding! Jean was initially difficult to reach as we booked it through VRBO, but the booking was through an alternate source. However, he sent all the appropriate information and was very clear in terms of the process on the day of arrival with clear Information.

The view from this unit was phenomenal of the Cite up on the hill. The location is still in an older portion of Carcasonne with many beautiful small side-streets, doors, and places to walk. The unit is on a street which becomes pedestrian only in the summer. I missed that the unit is on the 3rd floor with no lift (for those that need assistance) and older stone stairs with strange angles. Their are areas in the unit such as the primary bedroom where those who are taller may have to stoop to avoid hitting their head. We appreciated the AC in the unit during the 40C days during out visit. The host provided a bottle of sparkling which was a wonderful surprise for our arrival. One thing that wasn't clear is that the toilet is in a separate room from the shower and sink. A little strange and tiny room for the toilet but the bathroom / shower/ laundry was th e most spatious we had for our entire trip. We enjoyed a wonderful meal of crepes at a La Creperie La Trivalle and made pasta we caught from the Tour De France sponsors. We arrived by train so its about a 20-25minute walk as we didn't take the time to figure out the bus system.

No Communication

We did not stay at this B&B. This was because the host never answered any of my communications for 5 months then on the morning of our arrival in Carcassonne he deems to answer. Our Group stayed elsewhere.

Il ne faut pas oublier de réserver le parking sinon c’est plus compliqué…Bel appartement attention 4eme étage sans ascenseur.Très bon séjour pour nous au pied de la citadelle

problème : l'adresse affichée sur le site n'est pas l'adresse du logement donc galère pour trouver

in fine nous avons trouvé mais le coût de l'hébergement a été augmenté de 60 euros car nous avions trois voitures et fatigués par une longue journée, nous avons garé nos voitures dans le parking privé sous le logement pratique mais cher puisque 19 euros par véhicule pour la nuit alors qu'il y a un autre parking moins cher et tout près sauf que lorsque l'on tourne depuis une heure pour trouver la bonne adresse au fini au plus court car l'heure de fermeture des restaurants étaient limites.... de fait , on a eu du mal à trouver un établissement qui a accepté notre groupe de huit personnes !!! si nous avions pu mettre zéro étoiles pour la procédure d'arrivée et la précision de l'annonce nous aurions volontiers opté pour le triple zéro

Decorado con mucho gusto, todo muy amplio y limpio. La comunicación con el propietario muy fluido, muy amable en todo momento. Lo mejor la ubicación, justo al lado del castillo

Une très chouette expérience

Très chouette déco, très chouette accueil, appartement très bien équipé... et une vue incroyable sur la citadelle. A proximité de tous commerces, idéal pour une famille.

Amazing apartment in an amazing location

We stayed at Masion Bacaou 2 for only two nights. I was traveling with my children. The apartment was in a great location with the best view of the walled city. Jean Bacaou was an amazing host and very responsive to my texts as check in was a little precarious without clear marking on the building. There was air conditioning which we never even used. You get a great cross breeze if you open the windows in the living areas. We enjoyed ‘the city’ but also enjoyed walking over the bridge to enjoy the town of Carcassonne as well. The garage parking was invaluable since we were traveling France by car. I can’t imagine a better venue to stay in Carcassonne.
