Cottage Boomedge Room at Broomedge Farm Cottages

The names reflect the original use – ‘The Dairy Cottage’ speaks for itself, but ‘The Shippon Cottage’ is a name that many people may not be familiar with – ‘shippon’ is in fact an Old English word for a barn or cowshed. The Duckpond (click to enlarge)There is plenty of secure offroad parking on a good dry surface (2 large spaces per cottage) close to the cottages. A lovely feature is the duckpond outside the cottages. This has been securely fenced to make it safe for children, who will enjoy watching the ducks swimming and feeding in the pond. There is a patio with picnic tables, giving tremendous views across to Rivington Pike and Winter Hill.

Both cottages have 2 bedrooms, and each bedroom sleeps 2 people. The beds are Ziplock beds which can be configured into doubles or twins as required.

The Dairy Cottage has both bedrooms on the ground floor. The Shippon Cottage has one bedroom on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor.

¦Storage cabinet

The lounge in each cottage is spacious and well-equipped, and is a comfortable place to relax.

A woodland walk has been built on the farm, close to the cottages - guests are welcome to use this at any time. It makes a really pleasant stroll in classic English countryside, as it winds around ponds and trees. The installation of bird boxes means that there is plenty of wildlife to see.
