Maria was very friendly and helpful but the apartment was way overpriced for what it offers, and nothing near the standard one would expect for that price. And on arrival we had to pay cash for cleaning and linen! On departure we were charged for electricity and water, and would only accept cash.
There is no comfortable relaxation area in the apartment. There is small couch in the kitchen which is small and cold, and it was not possible to heat to any extent as the electricity trips if you turn the heater up.
There were no smoke or carbon monoxide alarms in the apartment, despite the gas cooker, and LPG gas cylinder being under the kitchen units.
The apartment door leads directly onto a small tarmac lane along which traffic can travel at speed. You must check that there are no cars coming before stepping out into the lane, but there is no warning sign on the door.
There supposed to be two bathrooms, but in fact there was only one.
There is no hot water to the kitchen sink so you have to boil a kettle to wash the dishes.
The toilet seat was laminated MDF which was cracked, and was quite unhygienic.
The wi-fi was low data and very poor. Once we had used up our allowance (which didn’t take long), we were charged an additional fee for more.
The bbq had not been cleaned. It was full of ash and the grill was rusty and unusable.
Good points were that the sun terrace was a nice place to hang out when the weather was good (although it hadn’t been cleaned), and the bedrooms are comfortable (but no quilts, only blankets).
It’s worth adding that we have stayed in Tavira and the Algarve several times and have never felt so exploited.
