Wonderful place on earth!

These beautiful stone house in Sapsila bay on Patmos is a little paradise on earth! It has very nice decoration inside. Also the terrace is a great place to sit on. We really enjoyed our time here !

Peaceful holiday

We stayed for 2 weeks and have had a relaxed family vacations (2 children).The house is as described, well equiped, clean, far from the nightlife, safe, its sea views from the upper terrace, and having breakfast outside in the morning was just fantastic! Gerry was always available for any doubt we had, before and durign our stay. We recommend a car and to rent a small boat to go around the island . It is perfect for small families.

A very special place!

Gerry’s property in Patmos is a beautiful spot to enjoy the island and the views. We loved it all: the arrangement of the rooms, the sea breeze, the quiet air conditioning which we only used twice during our October stay, the incredibly comfortable beds, the high quality appliances (especially the Nespresso machine),daily swims off the beach, and the island restaurants. This was a very quiet bay. Gerry was so responsive! He organized a taxi to pick us up at the midnight ferry, recommended a car rental company, and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and drives. Yes, we’ll hope to return again!

Gerry's house in Patmos is a little paradise

Gerry wellcame us friendly at the port. Gerry's house is very cosy, highly confortable and originally decorated. The beach is almost private and so near that you can swim as soon as awake or during night. There is a nice terrasse with sea view. A car or at least a motobike is needed, but be aware to plan your renting in advance in august. You can have clean service every two days. All these facilities justify the price of the location. We were very happy with our stay in Gerry's house in Patmos, one of the most magnificent island in Egean see. Catherine and Pierre

Superbe séjour dans une villa magnifique, très bien équipée avec un accès direct à la plage de Sapsila, ce qui est unique à Patmos. On se sent tout de suite chez soi. L’emplacement est parfait pour découvrir l’île, calme et reposant. Notre hôte, Gerry, s’est montré très chaleureux et prévenant. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute!

Séjour très agréable

Maison très agréable, bien équipée et joliment décorée. L’accès direct à une petite plage juste devant la maison est un vrai plus. Gerry est également un hôte très accueillant avec de nombreuses attentions. Merci.

Beautiful stone house - ideal for a relaxing, tranquil break. George was very helpful. Unfortunately the Taverna up the road wasn't open until mid June but we managed and found some lovely places to eat. We didn't have a car but the taxi's came within 5 mins of a call. We come back to Patmos Sapsilla bay Celene house our second time, we where here 2015. Gerry is an fantastic host, Gerry answered immediately if we were wondering about anything. This island have a relaxed atmosfear, beautiful beaches lovely water to snorqling in and a landscape that you can see over and over again. Celene house is a very cosy house. Everything you need its in the house, its feel like you go too your own summerhouse. We will come back for sure...again!

Griechenland, wie wir uns es wünschen.

Ein perfekt und zugleich liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus, direkt am Meer in einer schönen Bucht, in der wir meistens allein waren, und dazu GERRY! Das heißt Gastfreundschaft pur. Er war zu jeder Hilfe bereit, schon bei der Anreise beseitigte er alle Probleme. Ein gefüllter Eiskasten wartete auf uns, und immer wieder meldete er sich aus Athen mit der Frage, ob denn auch alles zu unserer Zufriedenheit sei. Wir können uns nur sehr herzlich bedanken.

Absolutely perfect - a slice of paradise

Our stay at Gerry's Celene House was fantastic in every way. Communication from Gerry in the lead up to the holiday was excellent, including letting us know about the area, transport, favourite restaurants and more. On arrival the property was immaculate- even more beautiful than in the photos. The location is perfect, just a short drive from Scala but millions of miles away from the bustle - even on days that were very crowded in Scala and at the popular beaches, Sapsilla was quiet and serene. We had one of the best holidays of our lives at Celene House and we will be back.

Lovely house on a quiet beach

We stayed at Celene House for ten days. It is a lovingly decorated summer house with smart details on a great location. It's just 5 min drive from Patmos's main village Skala. Sapsila beach is just couple of meters away and it's a great pleasure to have a coffee in the morning at the terrace looking at the morning sea.Very clean and well maintained with regular cleanings by lovely Vera. Gerry is a very friendly host who is is just an e-mail/ text away to answer any question or give advice.

Un paradis au bord de l'eau

Nous tenons à remercier Gerry pour le merveilleux séjour que nous avons passé dans sa maison très agréable de Sapsila. Très à l'écoute et rapide pour répondre à toutes nos demandes, attentif et prévenant, il a été un hôte parfait, même s'il était à Athènes lors de notre séjour. La communication par email a été très efficace et chaleureuse. Comme nous sommes arrivés au milieu de la nuit par ferry, Gerry avait commandé un taxi qui nous attendait au port et nous a conduits gratuitement à la maison. Le frigo était rempli pour que nous puissions prendre un petit-déjeuner lors de notre premier matin, belle surprise! La maison est telle qu'on peut la découvrir sur les photos, décorée avec beaucoup de goût et devant une plage très calme, fréquentée uniquement le dimanche durant notre séjour. Se baigner au sortir du lit le matin est un plaisir à nul autre pareil! Nous avons trouvé la maison très propre et bien entretenue. La climatisation présente dans chaque pièce (nécessaire durant trois jours sur les six qu'a duré notre séjour) est d'excellente qualité, à peine audible et très bien réglable. Nous avons adoré voir les ferries et les bateaux de croisière arriver dans l'ile depuis la terrasse! Il est conseillé de louer un véhicule de location pour profiter de l'île dont l'intérêt ne se situe pas qu'à Skala et Chora. Voilà donc un paradis que nous aimerions garder pour nous...

Beautiful location, fantastic house and host

This location, accommodation and the island provided an idyllic setting for a relaxing holiday with places to visit. Gerry was a fantastic host. My wife and I have stayed in self-catering villas all over Europe and this one provided the best range of provisions on our arrival and we were still using them at the end of our two week stay. Gerry was very attentive and helpful and interested in addressing our every need. He was very friendly and Vera the cleaner was great and efficient. Gerry is looking to improve the property all the time which is beautifully decorated. It is well maintained and we would recommend it as a delightful place to visit. Adults and children will enjoy this villa and it's easy access of the beach directly from the garden is brilliant. Neighbouring villages are easily accessible, it has a variety of interesting restaurants, Chora is a fascinating village with narrow streets and there are many different bays to visit. Mid June was a great time to visit because the temperature was very pleasant and the island not too crowded. We would definitely consider a return visit.

A Perfect Place in a Peaceful Spot!

We've hummed and ahhh'd over writing this review, as then we'd have to let people know about this gem of a villa and risk it being full the next time we want to book! The pictures show exactly what's in the villa, but it's more spacious than shown. It is light and airy and everything was thought off, from the welcome pack, to the comfortable beds, proper wardrobe storage, everything you need in the kitchen and great sitting spaces, inside and out. A plus is the upper terrace, watching the yachts sail past at sunset with a glass of wine. The 'ace' card though, is the location. The beach is just a few steps away and virtually private! Gerry, the owner, was incredibly helpful and thoughtful and there are even fold-up sunbeds to take down to the beach, that's if you can tear yourself away from the hammock! You will need a car or scooter to drive into the main town of Skala, but there is a great restaurant a short walk along the beach from the villa and the popular Grikos, with numerous tavernas, is approx a 20-30min walk. There is no 'downer' to this place. The only raised eyebrow (if I really had to raise one!) would be the small shower space. It's perfect for young families and couples and we will definitely return! Thank you Gerry for creating such a perfect place in a peaceful spot.

Nice house in a quite place

Une semaine très agréable dans cette jolie et confortable maison à l'écart de l'agitation. La location était conforme à notre attente: bien aménagée, cuisine bien équipée, belle décoration. Ma mer toute proche incite à la baignade, et la terrasse est idéale pour prendre les repas avec vue sur la mer et se relaxer en fin de journée. Si nous n'avons pas rencontré Gerry, il est toujours resté disponible pour répondre à nos questions avant et pendant le séjour. Le guide qu'il a rédigé pour prodiguer ses conseils nous aussi été précieux. Une voiture est nécessaire pour découvrir les charmes et les plages de cette belle ile.

Gerrys Celene House in Sapsilla Bay Patmos did our dreams come true. The children can go down to the beach in advance, and we could have our eyes on them, while we get ready for hikes. The comfort in the house was "top notch", very cousy details. The childrens room was a surprice for them. They loved it! In the night you can lay on the roof top and look at the stars and the moon. Our housecleaner Maria was very nice and professional. Too see all of the beaty of the island of Patmos, you need to rent a car. After a day at the beaches, returning too Celene house was like coming home too relax and make a good dinner. Sit at the veranda and enjoy the view. Before bedtime take a nice swim . The people of Patmos are very friendly and very helpful! Gerry, the owner of the Celene house visited us and we preciated that very much. We will return one day to Celene House..thats for sure! It can not get any better!

We do not want to say much about Patmos – it is simply beautiful! But we would like to thank Gerry (the owner of our holiday home) for the best holiday experience ever! (We have to add that we are quite spoiled as we are in the luxury tourism trade) It started with the planning – his response to our emails was quick and friendly and he helped us in every way possible – not only that – he made us look forward to our holiday even more. To be honest the way he engaged made us think until the last minute that this might be a scam and the house and its owner does not exist – he was so nice and helpful and the pictures of the house looked so beautiful – but we can assure you that this holiday home with this owner is a holidaymakers dream come true! The house is great and Gerry amazingly kind, generous, and thoughtful. After a long journey from South Africa to Patmos (and some more help form Gerry) we arrived at Sapsila Bay and were blown away! The house is even better than in the pictures – we felt at home instantly. A lovely mix of contemporary and traditional architecture, clean and well equipped. Everything is taken care of and it is modern but still typically Greek and charming. The patio with the view of this beautiful almost private beach is awesome. Sapsila Bay is quiet and a wonderful escape from the more touristy areas of the island - still centrally located with easy access to all the beaches and the villages of Scala and Hora – you need a scooter or car to get there but driving on Patmos is great fun with fantastic landscape and never takes very long. Not only that we enjoyed every minute of our stay we even had the pleasure of meeting Gerry - he was just as described above. We loved this home and stayed there for almost two weeks and our only regret was that it wasn't for longer - returning for us, is not a question of 'if' but simply when!

petit coin de paradis

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour de 2 semaines dans cette charmant maison située entre Skala et Grikos. Maison au bord d'une petite plage tranquille joliment décorée et très bien équipée (Wi-Fi, climatisation). La maison est très bien entretenue et le ménage est fait très régulièrement. Le propriétaire est charmant et très disponible.

Beautiful Getaway with A Wonderful Owner

The home is beyond beautiful and built stone by stone with love and care that can be felt throughout the entire house. Gerry (the home's owner) is wonderful to deal with, he is accommodating in every way possible and goes out of his way to answer any questions that you might have for him about his home or the island of Patmos in general. The home is private, brand new, and just about as comfortable as any place you will find in Patmos. The price is a bargain and Gerry's hospitality and warmth make it a great place to go to relax, feel safe, and enjoy the beauties of Patmos.

I grew up, live and work in Athens but working in Patmos every summer since 1998, and additionally my 'love' connected with the island's atmosphere, prompted me to start a project in Patmos. My family and I own the Thomas optical shop in Patmos, and I spend a lot of time working there,especially in summer.

For that reason, there was an effort to build a beach house in Patmos, in a perfect accordance to the island's traditional architecture, located at the most idyllic area in an almost private sandy beach, surrounded by the greatest atmosphere.
