Living like a local in Cefalu
This home was just steps away from the train station and 15 minute walk from the heart of life in Cefalu. Typically the area surrounding a train station is not desirable but in this case it was great. The apartment building was clean and handsome, and as was the inside the home. The AC worked great and the traditional Italian wood blackout shutters made it perfect for sleeping. The person who met us at the house to let us in and give us the 411 was hurried and a bit short with explanations. But it didn't effect our stay at all. We loved stopping at the bar around the corner for morning cafe and fresh out of the oven brioche with the locals. We couldn't get the TV to work to watch some entertaining Italian shows, but the host had someone come and fix it while we were out. The only other thing was the shower is very tight. We are a slim family and there wasn't much room to maneuver. Nor was there any place to put washrag and toiletries in the shower except on the shower floor – so bending down for them was tricky. Overall we enjoyed the stay.
