Gorgeous Villa near the beach

We enjoyed our stay, the villa is comfortable and well equipped. We especially enjoyed being able to eat outdoors by the pool and green garden. Maria is a helpful and generous host and we had good communication with her. It was lovely to be close to the beach and walking distance from the metro. We would come back again.

Familienfeiern in Portugal

Wir (5 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder) haben diese Ferienwoche sehr genossen. Das Haus mit den 4 Zimmern und 5 Badezimmern war für unsere Familie ideal. Die schöne Gartenanlage mit Pool, den Sitzplatz mit Pergola und Liegefläche mit Liegestühlen haben wir jeden Tag genossen! Maria ist eine sehr herzliche Gastgeberin! Familie aus der Schweiz

Spacious, well equipped villa with pool in quiet area

We all had an enjoyable stay, the house was spacious, well equipped and in a quiet residential area with few shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The pool and garden were great for the kids and the metro nearby was handy for trips into Porto. Maria was a great host and very communicative, regarding any questions we had.

Casa para disfrutar

Es una casa estupenda. Las habitaciones con baño individual cada una, colchones muy comodos. La cocina con todo lo que puedas necesitar de menaje en cantidad más que suficiente. La limpieza exquisita. Mención a parte merece el jardín y la piscina. Con dos mesas espaciosas han hecho un lugar especial de nuestros desayunos y cenas. El jardín precioso y con tumbonas para tomar el sol. La hemos disfrutado muchísimo. Gracias María por tu amabilidad al recibirnos y explicarnos todo. Ha sido una estancia excepcional.

très belle maison

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par la propriétaire et son mari, ce sont des personnes très agréables et toujours à l'écoute, ils restent à votre disposition durant tout le séjour si vous avez une question. La maison est tout à fait conforme aux photos du site et je dirais que sur certains points elle est encore mieux que sur les photos, par exemple il y a bien plus d'espace au bord de la piscine que les photos le laisse présager, la maison est très fleurie. La propreté est impeccable, les équipements des plus complets, il ne manque rien ! La maison est située à un bon quart d'heure de marche de la plage ou 3mn en voiture. Il y a nombre de commerces accessibles à pied . Je ne peux que vivement conseiller cette location pour une grande famille ou un groupe d'amis. Le voisinage est calme, seul le survol de quelques avions peut troubler celui-ci (l'aéroport de Porto est à une vingtaine de kilomètres), mais cela ne nous a pas dérangé. Encore merci à Maria pour son accueil.

A beach house in a lovely little village

We spent a time getting to know the area and the local shops including the butcher fishmonger and the vegetable shops. The bakery was a delight as well as the locals trying to make sure we ordered the right coffees. The house is spacious, very clean and the fact each room has an en-suite was great. Gediget hus rimligt nära strand och butiker

Hit åker man för en lugn vecka i byn, promenadavstånd till jättefin strand (dock väldigt kallt vatten) och fin pool som barnen kan bada i. Fräscht hus och 5-10 minuters promenad till slaktare, bageri, fiskaffär och enklare mataffär.

Grosses Haus für Freunde und Familie

Sehr herzlicher Empfang durch Vermieter mit Kuchen und Portwein. Ein grosses Haus genau wie beschrieben... Keiner kommt zu kurz. Tatsächlich für 4 Paare geeignet. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge zur Erkundung des Nordens, Porto per Bahn erreichbar. Wunderschöner Urlaub!

We had a very pleasant stay in the typical portugese house at vila do Conde. Maria was very helpfull and the house was very nice. We had a lot of space and everything we needed was in this nice house. The weather was perfect! Ther is a very good bakery in the small village and a Lidl in Vila do Conde. We visited Porto by ( hired) car. There is a good parking place at the Ribeira. Braga and Guimares are also must sees! In 15 minutes walking you are on the clean, quiet and beautifull beach. Thank you Maria for everything, maybe we will come back!

What a great time we had!

We felt comfortable from the very beginning Maria welcomed us in the house. She guided us around and showed the ins and outs of the whole house. The house is in a nice area and with all the Portuguese furniture and ornaments we felt very much at home. The very well equipped kitchen made us cook at home all days! We hired cars and the Lidl in Vila do Conde stocked everything we needed. Many sight-seeing destinations are close and we had a difficult time to choose which ones to go to! Whatever your choice is, Porto is not to be missed! Wonderful, but take the train, not the car... Thanks for a wonderful stay!!!!

Beautifull home, very kind owner

Beaitiful home, everything is there for a complete holiday, the owner herself was there to welcome us, with natas and port wine and was very helpfull during our stay, the house was very complete in the kitchen there was everything we needed, in the garden there is a small pool, a terrace and chairs to relax or to enjoy a barbecue at night, the beach is a 15 minutes walk also the metro that brings you in 40 minutes to Porto

Fabulous trip

We've just returned from a 2 week break in this lovely, well maintained, villa. Maria was a welcoming hostess and greeted us with Port and a tasty chocolate cake. Halfway through our break she and her husband came to check on the pool and garden and they were easily contactable had we had any questions. The kitchen and pantry were well stocked and we cooked almost every day. The BBQ outside was perfect for warm evenings when we'd got back from our adventures. The bathrooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The local town is within a 5 minute walk and had several mini supermarkets, a greengrocers, coffee shops, a butchers, fishmongers and pastry shop. It was only a few days into our holiday that we realised just how many of the cafes opened up in the late evening. We only found a couple of local restaurants that were open in the evening - Romandos, which we didn't go to and O Cantinho do Churrasco which is secreted up a little side street and well worth a visit - or 2 ;-) As others have said the Metro is about a 10 minute walk away. We caught the Metro into Porto twice at a cost of around 5 euros return. Just ensure you take note of the station for coming home - we managed to get off at the wrong stop twice the first time we went :-D The beach is a 10 minute walk and you can walk on the walkway into Vila Do Conde (about 15 mins) or, in the other direction to Mindelo Beach and beyond. We hired a car whilst we were there and found the area a perfect base for visiting some of the 'top 10' places mentioned on the 'Go Portugal' website - most within 30 - 60 minutes away by car. All in all a memorable trip. Thank you Maria :-)

ideal for large family gathering

we were a family of 7 adults and 1 baby staying together to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary. The bedrooms were all comfortable and the bathrooms clean and functional. The living space, garden, pool and kitchen were all excellent. Just a note: if you have a toddler this house is not for you as the pool is un-fenced and easy to access from the patio. I would recommend this house for a beach stay with travel to interesting castles and towns. The metro is a long journey into Porto.

Wonderful family home

Stayed here for a week in late May '18 with my family. Lots of space for us all, including my grown-up kids. Big enough not to get under each others feet. Fully kitted out kitchen and BBQ for nights in. Pool perfect size for kids splashing around. Quiet and clean residential neighbourhood. 10-15 minute walk to Metro stop & beach. Local village 5 minute walk, only the basics here. Vila do Conde is a few stops north on the Metro and is a lot bigger. Very nice beach front & restaurants. But the star attraction is of course downtown Porto, around 40 minutes by Metro which runs from 6AM-2AM. What a vibrant city! Plenty to see, activities, eat & drink. Maria was a friendly, attentive host and I would recommend the house to all. Yes it's a fair way from downtown Porto but trust me you'll be thankful of the peace, quiet and relaxation the house offers.

Very nice house

Maria was a really kind host. We even got some cake and portwine when we arrived. The house is exactly as described, and the metro is just a 10 minutes walk. The beach is also just 10 minutes away. sehr schönes Haus ideal auch für Freunde

Unser Aufenthalt - 2 Ehepaare u. eine Einzelperson - an der Altantikküste hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Strände sind sehr weitläufig. Sonnenschein hatten wir genügend. In geschützten Lagen waren es immer so um die 25 Grad, doch leider war der Wind so stark, dass wir nur ganz kurz mit den Füßen im Wasser waren. Auch bei Spaziergängen am Meer war es von Vorteil sich etwas die Arme zu hängen. Die Villa war top. Sie ist liebevoll eingerichtet, es fehlt an nichts. Was toll ist, dass zu jedem Schlafzimmer ein eigenes Bad gehört. Die Hauseigentümer Frau Maria Cunha u. Ehemann sind sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Der Tipp mit dem Zug nach Porto zu fahren, war toll. Wir waren gleich 2 mal in der Woche dort. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall!!! Schöne Lokale, in denen man gemütlich essen kann, liegen direkt am Fluss Duoro. Was uns auch sehr gut gefallen hat, war die Stadt Guimarez. Dazu braucht man aber einen Mietwagen. Guimarez hat eine sehr schöne historische Altstadt. Am besten sich gleich einen Stadtplan im Tourismuspoint von Guimarez besorgen. Wir können das Haus nur weiterempfehlen, sehr gemütlich innen wie außen.

A great house in marvellous surroundings with friendly renters

Wir waren mit 5 Personen 14 Tage in Vila do conde. Gereizt hatte uns die Nähe zu Porto und gleichzeitig zum Strand. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von unserem Vermietern mit einem guten Kuchen und einer Flasche Portwein begrüßt. Die Kommunikation in Englisch verlief einfach. Sie waren für uns jederzeit per SMS erreichbar. Eine gebrochene Fensterangel wurde am darauffolgenden Tag sofort repariert. Auch eine Unstimmigkeit in der Buchung konnte sehr schnell und unkompliziert bereinigt werden. Sie stellten uns auch 5 Metrokarten zur Verfügung, die wir dann auch für eine Fahrt nach Porto genutzt haben. Das System ist analog zur deutschen Wabensystematik. Man muß die Tarifzone kennen und dann auf die Karten laden. Wir haben dies in einem Tabakladen mit Hilfe einer Verwandten gemacht. Das Haus ist einem guten Zustand. Alles was man braucht ist da. Die Einrichtung ist sehr liebevoll und stielvoll und man merkt dem Haus an, dass die Vermieter dort selber einmal gewohnt haben. Soweit ich es überblicken kann, waren die Betten (resp. Matratzen ziemlich neu). Der Pool war sehr wichtig, da wir in den 14 Tagen entweder aufgrund der Wassertemperatur oder des starken Windes, nur am oder zaghaft im Wasser waren. Der windgeschützt liegende Pool reichte vollkommen aus um unsere Kinder zu beschäftigen. Größere Supermärkte (Lidl) gibt es in Vila do Conde, die leider nur über eine staubelastete Brücke zu erreichen sind. Dort gibt es auch gute Restaurants für jeden Geschmack. Ausflugsziele gibt es in fast unbegrenzter Zahl in der näheren Umgebung - Porto natürlich vorneweg. Wir hatten uns für die Dauer des Aufenthalts einen Mietwagen genommen. Hier ist unbedingt zu empfehlen ein Mautgerät mit zu mieten, da man ansonsten die Maut nur bei der Post bezahlen kann und dies erst 48 Stunden nach der letzten Fahrt. Für unseren nächsten Portugalurlaub würde ich dieses Haus sofort wieder buchen. Danke an Maria Cunha und ihren Mann!

Empfehlenswert!!!

Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Maria und ihrem Mann empfangen und sie zeigte uns alles nötige inklusive U-Bahn und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. Das Haus hat uns sehr gut gefallen, wir fühlten uns wohl, und der Pool ist gut. Einzig die Betten waren etwas kurz und nicht so bequem (Federmatratzen). Leider spielte das Wetter nicht so mit, es war mit knapp über 20 Grad etwas kühl. Doch das tolle Haus hatte genügend Platz, um sich auch drinnen zu verweilen!!

Muy agradable, precioso jardín

La casa es grande, luminosa y espaciosa. No es nueva pero las habitaciones que utilizamos (2) estaban bien equipadas, quizá echamos de menos algún enchufe en la más grande (viajamos con tanta electrónica...). El jardín precioso y cuidado, un espacio especialmente agradable para pasar ratos de reposo y lectura. María y su esposo muy amables y diligentes. Un placer.

Schöne Villa mit viel Platz und Pool

Das Ferienhaus liegt in einem Villenquartier nicht weit vom schönen Strand. Besonders geschätzt wurden die Zimmer, alle mit eigenem Bad. Im Garten mit südlichen Pflanzen und liebevoll eingerichtet, fühlten wir uns wohl. Auch der Pool war sehr geschätzt, da das Meer nur etwa 17 Grad warm war. Die Vermieter waren sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Gerne wieder.

Lovely house with beautiful pool

This is an excellently maintained traditional house in a very peaceful area. Maria and her husband greeted us warmly and provided us with a bottle of port wine and a lovely chocolate sponge cake. We enjoyed the large patio area, with trailing Bougainvillea, which looks out on the garden and pool, while enjoying a barbecue. The location is great for driving visits to nearby Guimaraes, etc which offer some beautiful days out. The beach is also nearby. There are also places to eat or drink within walking distance and a nearby metro that can be reached on foot as well. We had a lovely relaxing time and would not hesitate to stay again, as there are many places that we didn't get time to visit.

holiday house just outside PORTO

lovely house, spacy rooms and a bathroom with every dorm. Nice swimmingpool in the beautiful garden, great kitchen, well equipped, felt like home, with kind hosts, just outside Porto good connection by Metro, just 10 minutes walk to the beach. I can highly recommend this holiday house, for family or friends.
