Clara a été très accueillante et nous a donné beaucoup de bonnes suggestions. L'appartement est confortable et pas loin des quais de Gaia. Nous avons pu garer notre voiture très facilement en face.Il faut noter qu'il y a un escalier d'environ 9 marches pour accéder à l'appartement donc si vous avez beaucoup de bagages comme nous car nous étions 5 personnes parties de chez nous depuis 3 semaines, c'est du travail.

Our stay at Clara’s home was nothing short of exceptional, far beyond 5 stars! From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with genuine warmth, gave us a thoughtful house tour, and even surprised us with a delicious homemade cake and a bottle of port wine.Clara went above and beyond as a host throughout our stay. She arranged a fantastic walking tour for us and even helped us communicate with the guide when our Uber made us late. She also secured dinner reservations at a hidden gem of a fado restaurant that we would have never found on our own which was an unforgettable highlight of our trip.Her hospitality, attention to detail, and personal touches made us feel so welcome and cared for. We’ve stayed in many rentals, but Clara truly sets the gold standard for hosting. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend her place to anyone looking for an extraordinary stay.

Incredible experience in Porto!

What an excellent location for our stay in Porto. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. She made sure that we were taken care of during our trip. Not just in the beginning when she greeted us with port and cake but throughout our trip. With this being the kids first international trip, this was very helpful even if we didn't need anything at the time. We would stay here again and again if we are in the area again. Thanks for the best porto experience, cheers!

Stylish Oasis

What a perfect introduction to Portugal! Thank you for making your wonderful home available to us. We really appreciated the warm welcome, the apple cake and port at check in. And thank you for the many recommendations – for where to eat, what to see and where to shop were very much appreciated. The highlight was the Fado restaurant that you guided us to, which was memorable in more ways than one. As for your home, it is such a gem! The combination of old-world charm and witty and creative touches (like the lamps!) really made for a memorable experience. We have stayed at many rental apartments around the world, and this is not one that we will forget!

Excellent host and house

Clara was very kind to meet us at her home upon our arrival. Also, she treated us with her delicious homemade cake together with port. Clara has a lovely historic house with all the modern features and conveniences.

Fabulous stay in Porto

An excellent location for a stay in Porto. The host was extremely helpful and responsive. We were welcomed to her home with a fresh baked cake and some Port. We will look to stay here again for our next trip to Porto.

Loved our stay in Porto!

Property is great and as advertised. Host was awesome and very accomodating. I would only add that this is in Gaia and a bit of a walk to Porto. It was not a big deal for us and it’s still very nice. But, it could be something to consider for some people. We would defiantly stay here again if ever back in the area.

Perfection in Porto

I cannot possibly say enough. Just book this place and see for yourself. Clara is the most amazing host I have ever encountered. Met us at the property ready with a cake and port wine. House is indescribable. Decorated beautifully with a touch a whimsy. Spacious, spotless, and serene. Walkable to downtown. If I could come every year, I surely would!! The absolute best!

Great Host!

We had a great stay at Clara's home. Clara was amazing with communication! She was able to give suggestions on so many things in the area! She even booked a Douro Valley tour for us and had a gluten free cake waiting for us when we arrived. The home is very full of character and is decorated so nicely. From this location we were able to go on day trips to Douro Valley and Aveiro and also explored Porto.

Beautiful Home

The house was very nice with lots of space and great views of Porto. It is located just across the river. It is about a 10 minute walk down to old town, which has restaurants and shops. A quick walk across the bridge from old town and you are in the heart of Porto. There is a great bakery just up the street from the house that stopped at every morning. There are also local places nearby for Fado and dinner. Great place. Highly recommended.

Wonderful stay

Clara was a wonderful host. She allowed us to drop our bags early, so we could head out exploring. Parking was easy, directly across from the unit. We loved having an evening drink sitting in the open windows from the top floor with a view of Gaia and Porto. Clara also provided lots of information about tours and restaurants which was very helpful. The only thing I did not understand so adding this information for others. It is a 10 minute walk to the historic center of Gaia -- it takes longer to get across the bridge into old Porto (but still walkable). Had I spent more time looking at the map, I would have realized that in advance, so it was my own mistake.

Incredible hospitality

Clara's stone house is beautifully decorated in her wonderful whimsical style and had everything we needed for a fantastic 3 days. But most important Clara went out of her way to share her knowledge of the area, book a table for us at the Fada restaurant, meet us in person with cake and Port and in a warm and hospitable way make sure our needs were met.

Awesome location for exploring Douro River valley

Clara and her family’s historic home was beautiful decorated, and immaculately kept. We were greeted with fresh baked cake and port and a personal tour of our accommodations. The view from the third floor window was amazing. Clara was great at offering tips for our stay and she provided a house Manuel with plenty of options . The kitchen was well appointed. The bathroom and living space had a heater to use during cool evenings while we were there.

Un petit séjour de 5 jours qui nous a fait aimer le Portugal, en grande partie grâce à l'accueil et à la gentillesse de Clara, notre hôtesse. Clara ne se contente pas de louer un logement, elle fait également tout pour que votre séjour se passe bien, donne d'excellents conseils et est toujours prête à vous renseigner (visite d'Aveiro la Venise du Portugal, restaurant de Fado, restaurant chez Paula à 20 mètres de la maison...). Dommage qu'Abritel ne propose pas de donner 6 ou 7 étoiles... Merci pour tout Clara !

Warm welcome

Before we arrived in Porto Clara had contacted us with suggestions for restaurants and things to see and do. When we arrived Clara was there to meet us and show us around her lovely house. She had baked us a delicious apple cake, such a welcome treat. During our stay Clara was very helpful with ideas and we ate at an amazing restaurant, just around the corner. we never would have found with out Clara. WE had a wonderful stay in Porto.

Perfect Spot

Clara was very lovely! She met us at the home with an apple cake and port. The home was lovely and very clean with beautiful views. It is not in downtown Porto which was nice, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby.

Our hillside cottage

We loved Clara’s house, we were here for almost a month and it quickly became our hillside cottage. It’s quiet at night and while close to transportation and the tourist attractions of Gaia, it was removed enough to offer respite and relaxation. I was working remotely from here and enjoyed the top floor with its roof window open so I could smell the air and hear the gulls. Clara was an excellent host and maintained communication through the whole stay. She also surprised us with some home made treats! The hill is steep and the house has multiple stairs and uneven floor levels, so I only recommend it if you have no mobility issues. The AC was really nice to come home to after hot days wandering the streets of Porto and Gaia. The main bed is comfortable, the others were a little stiff but not overly uncomfortable. The bathroom in the primary bedroom was a nice convenience but exceptionally small. Once we worked out the quirks of this old house we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Clara’s property was perfect. It was filled with rustic charm . She had obviously put great effort into making sure that guests who stayed, would be comfortable ; great attention to detail . Clara welcomed us so warmly, even providing us with homemade cake and port. She went out of her way to make our stay wonderful.
