Goldenview in Holetown

Our accommodation were exactly as advertised. This was our second stay at Goldenview. Location is great, unit is well decorated with just the right amount of furniture. Nice patio furniture. Our host provide very good instruction and was quick to respond to any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

A clean place with comfortable furniture and bed.

The area was known to me and all went well. Unfortunately the telephone did not work as calls out were possible but other party could not hear you. Also please leave instructions so that the TV can be used.

Fantastic holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Golden View apartment. Our host was quick to respond on any questions. The apartment was accurately described. We enjoyed seeing the green monkeys from the balcony on several mornings. We rented a car, but most things can be accessed in walking distance or by free return shuttle (Jordan’s Supermaket). Humongous pool, easy to access on site laundry ($) and a lovely library on site to borrow books from. We would highly recommend for a quiet peaceful getaway.

Still as good as ever

This was our fourth stay and the apartment is still as good as ever. I could only repeat my earlier comments (but I won't as people can read them for themselves) but in summary, this is a great apartment, well equipped with lovely views across the pool and grounds. We slept like logs every night on comfortable beds, only needing the ceiling fan. The location is ideal: quiet but only a short walk to the beaches and restaurants of Holetown. We're now looking forward to our stay in 2018!

Wonderful stay in lovely apartment

Firstly, the owner of this apartment is trustworthy, honest and az pleasure to deal with. When we had a minor problem with the television, she went out of her way to get it sorted out even though she was in the UK at the time. She reponded quickly to all correspondence. The beds are comfortable, the apartment is clean, it is good value and includes air cobditioning which is often a major extra expense.

Safe and perfect for me

Golden view is a quite safe and beautifully kept complex. It has an amazing pool with plenty of sunbeds. Reception staff and security guards are helpful and friendly. I spent most of my time at the beaches which are a short walk away, but lovely to have the option of an afternoon/evening swim. Everything you need is within walking distance. My only gripe would be the bed,which was very firm ( for me ) Overall a fabulous stay and would be more than happy to book again. Hopefully the now vacant and empty restaurant/bar on the complex will be up and running with someone new soon Thank you for a wonderful week

Excellent Value.

The apartment is exactly as represented in pictures and video, and has everything you need for a good vacation. The owner's responded to questions promptly and dealt with financial transactions professionally. Wifi access by the pool and in the lobby was good, and if you hold your phone over the railing on the balcony you can also get a decent connection. (Clearly I need to learn how to disconnect during my vacation) While older, the building, pool and grounds are well-maintained and staff are very helpful. Monkeys made an appearance most mornings. The property is ideally located a short walk from the Massy Store and a slightly longer walk to the waterfront.The beaches and the local restaurants are exceptional. Overall, we highly recommend this property.

Enjoyable stay, room was comfortable, good access to amenities, however, whilst it stated that the linens would have been washed/cleaned at least once, this was never done but we did it ourselves. The only other comment is access to WIFI in the room, as there was limited privacy in the lobby or other areas where we could have a WiFi signal, challenging to have a personal conversation with other guests huddled in the lobby area, or in the hallways, library as well as the quiet time, it was a bit inconvenient to make a WiFi call. Apart from that, comfortable stay. I would book again EC

We are sorry you didn't receive your maid service during your stay, we will look into why you didn't receive it. Regarding the WiFi we are considering having it installed within the apartment but most customers have expressed that they prefer to keep the nightly rate for the apartment low and continue to use the communal areas for WiFi access . We are pleased you enjoyed Holetown and the amineties it offers.

Lovely Holiday

We had a fantastic time and the accommodation was great and very true to the listing. The hosts were really prompt in communication and helpful with pre-arrival info. On arrival we were informed of some upgrade work that was being carried out which we hadn't been informed of and necessitated the covering of the air con and apartment door, which again wasn't communicated. On return home we found an email from the owners to explain and the disruption to us was minimal. The swimming pool was a good size and the whole complex was very peaceful and quiet. The location suited us perfectly and it was great to be able to self-cater as Bajan restaurants can be a little overpriced. Beaches were reached in minutes and there is fantastic snorkelling nearby , from every beach within reach. The local supermarket is an easy walk away as it the bus stop to access the rest of the island and local bars and restaurants. We would not hesitate to return.

Excellent apartment in a delightful setting

This was our seventh visit to Barbados and finally we found a property with the perfect balance between price, location and facilities. Because of the clever building design every apartment benefits from a cooling breeze, from front to back, so much so that we rarely had cause to use the aircon. Layout was perfect: well proportioned rooms which were well equipped. The bathroom appeared to be newly refurbished, bedroom well designed with ample storage space and a lounge which enabled the playing of both DVD's and CD's on the facilities provided. Enormous amount of beach towels - always welcomed when your baggage allowance is only 23kg. The swimming pool was really quiet and well maintained with ample loungers and chairs. The only downside for us was that we had booked and prepaid for a hotel for a further 4 nights down south, when our 7 night stay here ended. So impressed were we with The Golden View Apartments that we got onto homeaway.co.uk and booked out another apartment instead since Christopher's apartment was booked. Next time we come to Barbados this will be our first choice of accommodation - it totally met our requirements..

Totally met our needs and wants

This was our second stay in two years at this apartment and I am pleased to say that it is still as good. We arrived on old years night, took a quick shower (hot water always available) and headed on down to Surf-side beach beach for drinks and fireworks. Walking back after midnight you really start to appreciate the breeze that feeds these apartments. Bedding down on clean bedding, we switched off the air conditioning and just relied on the ceiling fan and natural breeze that flows through the apartment complex. In the morning we just opened the balcony door and sat having breakfast overlooking the pool and colourful grounds. Then it was time for a swim so we took advantage of the beach towels helpfully provided and crashed around the huge sparking clean swimming pool. I was ill for four days so we really appreciated the TV in the bedroom, which is tuned to the local Barbados TV station, as this helped to pass the time. My wife, who was 'nursing' me back to full health, really utilised the kitchen facilities using both the full cooker and the microwave. The mattresses were comfortable and we slept like logs, the helpful CD player and DVD player enabled playback of the CD-R's and DVD-R's. What we particularly like about the entire complex is that it is a community of owners. You're not going to get idiots running around, towels 'reserving' sunbeds (there are more than enough anyway) and other holiday making excesses that some people create. If you want a totally relaxing holiday with no stress then this is the apartment for you.

Quiet complex for a relaxing stay. Lovely apartment overlooking the pool. If anything better equipped than the listing with lots of kitchen equipment, drip coffee machine and french press as well as some of the basics like coffee sugar salt and pepper to tide one over. Bed is comfy balcony is wonderful to sit out on. Apartment is about 5mins walk to the nearest swimmable beach with many others also accessible from coast front path. Hole town is lovely Everyone we chatted too was friendly. The pool was large and beautifully maintained. We saw monkeys humming birds, grackles, and Barbadian finches all from our balcony. If you’re considering this property for a place to unwind and relax then go for it.

Good location and Value

The property was clean, well equipped and the listing was an accurate description/characterization of the condo. Communication with the owner was excellent and they responded quickly to a couple of issues including replacing the AC unit that broke down on the second day of our stay. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed to cook, which we did every day. The balcony is a really good size and provides a good view of the grounds. The pool is a great size and never is really busy. The only minor issue is that the unit does not have cable so bring cables if you plan to watch something from your laptop and find out in advance whether your streaming device will work in Barbados. Finally, everybody at the condo complex is very friendly and welcoming. Overall a very nice stay.

Simply a great stay.

The pool and grounds are lovely. The one bedroon condo is just as described, clean and with a nice balcony. Communications with the owners was very easy and helpful. We would like to return some time.

Lovely peaceful stay

What more can I say other than that which I have written before. Comfortable apartment in a great location. So peaceful with thoughtful guests who respect the rights of others when on vacation. No noisy revellers, no idiots jumping in the pool, no loud thumping music. Well equipped apartment with everything you can need for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely well maintained gardens and pool.

Good value for money. Seeing the odd monkey was quite enchanting. Very mature trees and foliage and extremely well maintained. Helpful staff on reception. The pool was always immaculate. So were all the public areas. 10 min stroll to the main road where there are restaurants and bars. Plenty of buses going into Bridgetown and fares are so cheap and a great experience. Reggae music blaring, packed with locals, driver stopping to replenish his Banks beer at rum shop - quite quirky.

Thoroughly recommended!

Great apartment, great location, great holiday! The apartment is clean, quiet and well appointed. The pool is lovely, and the chinese restaurant is good value. Just down the road is a great beach with a couple of man made reefs - good for safe snorkeling. When the nearby supermarket is complete, it'll be even better, altho you can pick up the essentials at the close by petrol station and fruit stall. All good - we'll be back!

Excellent

Fantastic appartment in a great location. The building is nothing special to look at but once you're in there you can appreciate why it was built in such a way, i.e. to get the maximum benefit from the breezes running east to west. Holetown has everything that you need but is well away from the hustle and bustle of the south-west coast. The appartment is within walking distance of shops, bars, restaurants and the beach. It's up to you whether you want to hire a car or use buses or taxis. (Note to people with a poor sense of direction: do not hire a car, you WILL get lost. Signposts are virtually non-existant on the island.) The appartment is clean and well-equipped with a large, clean swimming pool and beautiful gardens and friendly staff. To put it in a nutshell - very good quality for a very reasonable price.

Brill in Barbados!

A very reasonable price, in a great location for Holetown. About a 5-10 min walk to all the amenities/beach. The apartment has everything you could want for self catering. Clean & tidy, great balcony with view of pool, monkeys in the morning (early)! Staff helpful & friendly. Massive very warm, clean pool! Quiet when we were there 11-25 May 2015. Chinese restaurant onsite, which was OK but then Chinese is not our favourite. Having said that, we had one meal there & another takeaway as couldn't be bothered moving from the wonderful balcony while sipping rum & playing backgammon! We never used the aircon, the fan in the bedroom was enough to keep us cool. We were really impressed overall, after our 3rd visit to Barbados, staying around St James area. We love Holetown and would definitely return to 211 Golden View. Thank you Alison & Chris..... we will return ..... one day! The only negative I can think was the lack of towels, but that was no biggie! Thanks again!

Lovely apartment!

Have been visiting Barbados for many years and found this apartment was in the perfect location, clean, nicely furbished and the staff were pleasant and helpful. Have already recommended this apartment to friends and would definitely stay again!

Visitor to Barbados for over almost 40 years. Fantastic place to be be with family and friends whilst enjoying this beautiful island.

We offer a good standard of accommodation in a great location with Wi-FI and 24 hour security. Within a quiet area but within minutes to the beach, restaurants and all amenities . A large Massy Supermarket and a 24 hour Medical Center is 400 yards away.
Whilst having a car would be beneficial for visiting other places on the island it is not necessary as most amenities are within walking distance. Alternatively take a trip on a local bus along the beautiful west coast an experience not to be missed. Each journey cost BDS 3.50 regardless of distance.

Our apartment offers comfortable, clean, secure accommodation at an affordable price in a beautiful tropical location yet only a short walk to all amenities.
We fell in love with the view from our apartment, the colour's from hibiscus flowers in the garden the visit's from the beautiful humming birds . Watching monkey's taking an early morning stroll along the perimeter fence whilst having breakfast on the balcony. What more would you want other than a dip in the pool.
