A recently refurbished 200 Year old listed cottage with an large, enclosed, private garden, situated in a quiet area of Markinch (Fife).A perfect retreat for all seasons.
Enjoy the outdoor dining area with Gas BBQ in the spring / summer and cosy up by the wood burning stove in Autumn / Winter.
Equipped with all modern amenities such as high speed fibre broadband, smart TV's, washer / dryer whilst maintaining the charm and character of a traditional 19th century cottage.
Idyllic, private setting with relaxing sounds of nearby stream.

Owner was very accommodating and we negotiated different check-in a check-out times which were better-suited to our weekend, prior to arrival - which was amazing! Lovely cottage, just as described and was ideal for a cosy weekend in sheltering from the inclement Scottish weather!

Father/son golf trip

The property was excellent. Only two person trip so plenty of room to spread out. All amenities were provided, making this an ideal base camp for our golfing adventures. All the courses on our itinerary (including St Andrews) were less than 45 minutes drive.

St. Andrews and Edinburgh

The Cottage was just as advertised. It was ideal for a father and son playing golf at St Andrews and wanting to take the train into Edinburgh. The Host was very accommodating in every way. We were very happy to stay in the charming town of Markinch.

Feb half term break

Burnside cottage is beautiful. We really enjoyed cosying up by the fire in the evenings. Our 5 year old daughter loved her bedroom with the fluffy pink blankets and 'special lantern' also the big garden. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Thank you!

Great !

We spent a great time in Elaine´s property : the house was spotless, well-decorated, and we appreciated a lot to have milk, bread and butter in the fridge when we arrived. We enjoyed the big well-kept garden and great walks in the surroundings. It’s really a 5 star accommodation.
