Property for exclusive use
Ancient tower dating back to the 1600s with an apartment in a separate farmhouse, hosting a total of 8 persons in 3 double bedrooms, one bedroom with two beds, 3 bathrooms and one small bathroom. Guests can use the exclusive swimming pool with outdoor shower, private garden and panoramic terrace. The property has a barbecue, internet and parking.

Outdoors and swimming
Il Colombaio is surrounded by a panoramica, well-kept garden, featuring a green lawn with olive trees and flower bushes which is exposed to the sun all day long. Here guests will find the private swimming pool, 6 metres by 12 a 1.5 m deep, with a bathing area and outdoor shower, sunbeds, tables and chairs, and a portable barbecue. The separate apartment in the farmhouse boasts a great furnished terrace with a breathtaking view of the vineyards and olive groves. The private parking is within the property.Interior
The ancient tower is on three floors; the ground floor entrance leads to the living room with TV and fireplace, and to the dining and cooking areas. The first floor features a double bedroom and bathroom with shower. The second floor has a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower.
The farmhouse apartment is entirely on the first floor, accessible via an outdoor staircase. Here there is a living room with TV and fireplace, a dining area and well-equipped cooking area, one double bedroom, one bedroom with two beds, one bathroom with shower and one guest bathroom. Access to the large panoramic terrace furnished with table, chairs and umbrella. The owners live on the ground floor of this farmhouse.

Location
The property is in the heart of the Chianti hills, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and woods. It’s the ideal location for mixing relaxation with visits to the nearby towns or the cities of Florence and Siena.

Il Colombaio has wifi, central heating, baby bed, high chair, 6 fans (1 in each bedroom and 1 in each living room), and parking within the property.

Services
The price includes bathroom, bedroom and kitchen linen as well as swimming towels (changed weekly), internet, water, electricity, gas (heating not included), high chair and baby bed. Hired help is available upon request and to be paid for at the property.

Important information
The swimming pool is available from May 1st to September 30th. The owners live in the farmhouse on the ground floor.Activities and distances
The Chianti region is in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence, Siena and Arezzo and is the perfect starting point for discovering the area’s rich history made up of castles, medieval hamlets, Romanesque parish churches and ancient farmsteads. The property is also not far from other famous Tuscan cities like Volterra, Arezzo and San Gimignano.

would have been excellent, except the property didn’t have screens on some of the windows & we got a bunch of mosquito bites. (there was no a/c, so we had to keep the windows open at night.)host was awesome, connected us to a great restaurant out first night, a local cooking class the night after, he was really helpful. the location was beautiful. perfectly situated in the region to explore castles, day trips, etc.

We had a magical stay!The house is absolutely stunning — beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and even more spacious than expected. The pool was crystal clear and perfect for relaxing together. Umberto was an exceptional host: responsive, kind, and always quick to reply. Everything felt smooth, easy, and welcoming. We stayed with friends and had an unforgettable time. Highly recommended!

Our stay was for 2 weeks. The location and surrounding views are amazing. Love the village of Gaiole, several places to eat, grab coffee or some supplies. But here was the down side, other then the pool it was hard to gather as a group. The kitchen has very limited utensils, glasses, no supplys of any kind, like trash bags ect. The fridge and freezer are very small. We found ourselves running back and forth between the 2 houses to gather enough for a simple dinner. We stayed in the farm house apartment, which was was very hot. The evenings were well over 85 inside with all the windows open and a fan running. The house never would cool down even when it was cooler out side. The stone tower was a bit cooler but also has no screens on any windows so there are mosquitoes and Flys that will come in.Pool area was nice and pool clean. But, Most of the umbrellas were broken and moldy. We were supplied one towel each, one for the pool and one for the shower. They did come and changed sheets and towels 1 week in to our stay which was nice.Umberto was responsive and easy to deal with. But the original management company pulled us out of vrbo and we had to use them direct. It was hard to communicate with them and it was a little confusing. There was no book for the property or really instructions like where to take the trash etc.

Excellent Stay

We very much enjoyed our stay at this villa. The check-in process was smooth, the property was as described, it was clean, and it's location was wonderful. The easy and close access to the small village of Gaiole in Chianti was very convenient as if we needed a quick dine out or groceries and coffee we could easily drive down. The villa itself is equipped with the basics but we would have liked a few additions which I'll list below. The rooms were very clean, spacious, with nice bathrooms. Unfortunately they are not air conditioned, and given the 40 Celsius days, we had to stay cool with fans in the evening. The nice pool was a wonderful amenity to have during the hot days. The recommendations we have to improve this nice property even more would be the following: - more utensils in both kitchens - better toasters and perhaps an upgrade on appliances - improve the Internet, as the wife signal was poor, and the Internet speed quite slow. - a binder with all the necessary information regarding the property, including how to deal with garbage, internet information, and other basic requirements which is a common practice with most rental properties. Aside from what we listed above the property was great and we would recommend it.

Sehr schöner Urlaub

Ein sehr schönes Objekt mit viel Charme und Charakter. Die Aussicht ist toll, der Pool ist groß, war sauber und gepflegt, ausreichend Liegen vorhanden. Großer Grill und eine schöne Terasse. Hier kann man seinen Urlaub genießen!!! Die Betten / Matratzen sind gut, aber leider nicht getrennt, so dass der Nachbar bei jeder Drehung mitschaukelt :-) Die Ausstattung der Küche ist ein bißchen in die Jahre gekommen (Geschirrspüler), hier könnte investiert werden. Ebenso ins Besteck, hier gibt es z.B. für jeden Gast genau eine Garnitur (Messer/Gabel/Löffel) und der Herd fordert etwas Geduld, aber ansonsten gut ausgestattet. Der Kontakt und der Empfang war freundlich, die mit im Haus wohnenden Eigentümer sind freundlich und selten zu sehen. Es gab sogar frisches Gemüse aus dem eigenen Garten zur Begrüßung. Der Weg von Gaiole in Chianti zum Objekt selbst ist ziemlich steil, schmal und kurvig, darauf sollte man vorbereitet sein. Zu Fuß ca. 10 - 15 Minuten, je nach Kondition auch etwas länger... Im Ort gibt es ein paar wenige, kleine Restaurants (am besten einen Tisch reservieren), eine Gelateria mit gutem Eis und einen kleinen Coop. Für den größeren Einkauf lieber bei Ausflügen an einem Lidl Halt machen. Ausflüge nach Sienna, San Gimigiano oder auch Pisa sind machbar, aber bei der Planung berücksichtigen, dass die Straßen in der Toskana teilweise sehr steil (bis zu 15% Steigung) und kurvig sind, daher mehr Zeit einplanen. Wir können dieses Objekt uneingeschränkt empfehlen!

Il Colombaio In Gaiole in Chianti was spectacular!

A big thank you to our hosts at II Colombaio -- especially Umberto who was so helpful! We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful villa! The two buildings worked out well to give everyone space. The view was spectacular and the town of Gaiole was a simple and lovely walk down the hill. We highly recommend this property and we hope to return!

Tien minuten lopen van Gaiole dorp, een klein dorpje in de chianti streek. Prachtig uitzicht, prima zwembad. Het huis is gedateerd, kookplat deed het niet. Verder prima kamers en iedere huis heeft twee badkamers. Aardige gastheer die Engels spreekt. Zijn ouders wonen op de beneden verdieping van het huis, ze spreken geen Engels.

Fantastic view, great location!

View from the house was amazing - just up the hill from the town of Gaiole. Our family of five was very comfortable and we found the house to be clean, well equipped and just right for us. We enjoyed the pool, the dinners in town, the wineries and sightseeing in the surrounding area. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic Week

The property is fantastic. Overlooking a vineyard and the quaint town of Gaiole, we were very happy to have picked this place. Umberto was very helpful and available. The split accommodations helped with having a child, where we could put her to sleep and still have a space in the other side of the villa to enjoy each other’s company. The pool was perfect as well!
