VLCHost - good host
Was nervous about having booked with a property management company via VRBO as this wasn't really clear when booking; however the communication with VLCHost turned out to be fine. They were professional, albeit a little 'faceless' and 'present'.
The property was as described, but the 'sell' is the location. You are in the middle of the old area next to the main market.
The other big 'sell' is the roof terrace, which is a sun trap; although I guess might be busy in summer. This was perfect as we had it to ourselves on a couple of occasions and allowed us to 'chill' in a quiet environment.
The apartment was functional, and well equipped for 2. The shower did take a while to heat up - on fourth floor - so be patient - it does get hot.
Didn't use pool or sauna, but they looked fine.
There was very little noise around us, but guess that that might be just luck or who else is there at the same time. We didn't see many others albeit we were there at Easter.
We did a lot of walking, probably say that it is a little too far to walk to the beach (90mins), the Aquarium (Oceanagrafic) and Science museum were walkable (45mins) - lots to see and pleasant if you take in park area.
If going for short period would probably recommend bus tour as what we did in a weeks walking seemed to be covered largely by the bus route.
Whilst we thought that the apartment was a little pricey, the reality was that it compared highly favourably with the other options that we had.
