A delightful and cosy choice for any length of stay in York, with the added benefit of permit parking and a private outdoor space, Bootham in Style is perfectly situated just a 5 minute walk from the heart of the city centre and a 15 minute walk from the train station.

This charming basement apartment is accessed via a short flight of stone steps leading to its own private entrance and offers a warm, inviting atmosphere. The living area is bathed in natural light and opens onto a small private patio with a bistro table, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or evening drink.

The main living area features a comfortable sofa that easily converts into a sofa bed for the occasional extra guest. The space also includes a Smart LCD TV, office nook and a dining area with seating for four.

In the bedroom, you'll find a sumptuous king size bed designed for a perfect night's sleep. The well equipped kitchen includes everything you need, including a coffee machine to enhance your stay.

The stylish bathroom boasts a large walk-in shower, offering a touch of luxury to this charming retreat.

Comfortable small basement flat

The apartment is very well fitted to a high spec. The bed is very comfortable . The bathroom and kitchen are small and as it’s a basement flat it is a bit dark . Great location .

Great location and a nice place for max 2 people

The property is in a great location with very easy access to the centre. We were expecting a sofa bed as advertised, as there were 3 of us. It is not a sofa BED it is a hard sofa that opens out but still doesn't go flat, with a ridge in the middle making it very uncomfortable to sleep on. For 2 people the place is great with nice finishings. It had been surfaced cleaned but clearly not deep cleaned for a while with cobwebs etc. and on opening the sofa flat for sleeping, there were crumbs and dirt there. Other than that the place is very nice and we would stay there again but only for 2 people.

Fab place to stay. Perfect location

Perfect location for the city centre. About 5-10 minute walk. Shops nearby for any essentials needed. Lovely apartment with everything you need and has been renovated to an high standard. Good price for location and what you get. Apartment 1 is downstairs which isn’t made clear so not accessible for some people.

Great location but ...

The positives first, its a great location, in easy walking distance of all of York city attractions and the parking permit was really useful. The property provided all the basics for self catering accommodation and the bed was comfortable. The negatives, black mold on the bathroom ceiling, the smell of damp especially when opening the kitchen cupboards, stains on the carpet, broken toaster, filthy bedroom windows looking out onto a brick wall and the "private patio" is a dark and dingy space between two drains.

Stay here!

An excellent place. Any criticisms are little snits. It's comfortable, convenient, well appointed, just a good spot to enjoy York., and the cost was fair for the value received. We visited during a cold spell, and having the toilet just by the entrance was a drawback. We rolled a towel at the base of the toilet door to keep the cold air lessened. The shower is wonderful, and the king size bed is great. There was no help to n going over the features. No problem for a local but we had to learn as we went, being from the US. We never did get the coffee going, and the toaster had a broken lever. As I said, small snits. Two improvement recommendations: an orientation session on the appliances by Stays York, and some form of insulation for the toilet. In the big picture, a great place. We were very pleased.

Perfect bolt hole location, in need of some minor improvements

We really enjoyed our stay, the location is absolutely perfect to walk into the centre and even close enough to walk home at night. The decor is lovely, you can tell real thought has gone into the design. There are just a few things that let it down. The bed is extremely uncomfortable. Many things were broken, the toaster looks pretty but when you use it the levers are both snapped off and just put back on! Same for the ironing board, which lowers itself when you run the iron up it! There needs to be some work done to the damp and mould issues.The biggest thing is the cleanliness and level of spiders. There were huge cobwebs everywhere which would have taken minutes to have been hoovered in the clean before arrival. We had to dispose of well over 15 big spiders! Once we’d done that, they didn’t come back. So they could have just been sorted in the clean before we arrived, and we wouldn’t have kept having the issue. There’s no Hoover either, so we had to use the dustpan and brush for the cobwebs - which were so big and obvious, and in every room, it was very odd to have been missed. The big space behind the television unit was disgusting, the cobwebs must have been built up over quite some time. Some walls had 3 or more spiders together, unsure how they weren’t seen by the person preparing the place for arrivals. Very odd. The floors hadn’t been mopped either because there were belongings from a previous guest on the floors. Feels like a shame when there’s so much thought put into the design and the location is just so brilliant. It’s not cheap to stay, so these things could easily be improved upon. We had a lovely time in York, there are so many lovely restaurants and lots to do!

An OK stay

Overall a fine stay but some things could be improved: Parking permit available on arrival - we got a ticket Better quality bedding (pillows and mattress) Hessian carpet as you come out of the bathroom isn't pleasant No blinds in bedroom - v strange! Very noisy from upstairs - sounded as if the people walking around upstairs were in the bedroom. Small milk in the fridge would have been helpful.
