Overlooking a pretty square in the heart of the conservation area of Deal, Lighthouse Cottage is a deceptively spacious Grade II listed cottage located just minutes from all the wonderful attractions of Deal. The bustling High Street with its artisan shops and lively cafes and bars, and the long promenade and beach are all a short stroll away. The cottage itself is a haven for total relaxation, and the lovely sunny conservatory and private walled garden, and the cosy sitting room with inglenook fireplace and wood burner makes this charming cottage the perfect holiday home all year round. The ground floor has a large sitting room, dining room, kitchen/breakfast room, cloakroom, and conservatory leading to the walled garden. The first floor has one Super Kingsize bedroom with ensuite shower room, family bathroom and a twin bedroom. The second floor has a double bedroom.

The owner has a guide dog, so property not totally pet-hair-free.
No pets are allowed at this property.

We would respectfully ask that the following house rules are adhered to, to avoid any damages to our beautiful holiday home. Should any damages arise please note charges may be taken from your security deposit.
Smoking is not permitted in the property at any time.
Please note for insurance purposes the number of guests must not exceed the total occupancy of the house.
For fire safety reasons please do not use any candles in the property.
Please note quiet hours are between 11pm and 9am. Please be respectful to neighbours.
Parties and loud music are not permitted.

A comfortable Christmas stay

The cottage was a very comfortable and roomy stay for a family of 5, where a quite space if needed could be enjoyed. Little touches of welcome were most appreciated and added to our Christmas experience. We very much look forward to visiting again in the near future.

Another comfortable summer stay at Lighthouse Cottage

We love staying here every summer. Deal is such a low-key relaxed town and it is always a pleasure to be staying in the historical old town. Lighthouse Cottage is so comfortable, and as a family we always so look forward to our week here.

Great location for exploring Deal. Shops and restaurants close by. Lovely pub on the corner with friendly hosts. Sea front a 2 minute walk. 15 minute walk to Deal Castle.

Lovely place to stay near the beach and the centre of Deal

We loved our stay at Lighthouse Cottage and would happily stay there again. It's in a great location in easy walking distance of so many pubs and restaurants and the railway station if you'd like to go further afield. The stairs are very steep and the top floor room has limited headroom but we were two couples and so just used the rooms on the first floor. Lovely quiet sunny garden perfect for a cold beer at the end of the day.

Such a comfortable cottage in a beautiful location

We do love Lighthouse Cottage. It was our fourth stay here. Always comfortable with all equipment thought of and it always feels welcoming. It's in a perfect location in the historical old town. A really lovely place to stay.

Perfect stay in Deal

We had a great stay at Lighthouse Cottage. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and only a few steps to the seafront and the high street. We've stayed in several properties in Deal and this is by far our favourite. We were lucky enough to have a few sunny days to enjoy the lovely courtyard garden. Hoping we can come back soon!

Great cottage in great location

Lovely cottage in very good location with comfortable rooms and lots of places to sit and relax, including a conservatory. Well equipped with a large kitchen including a wine chiller, Unusuaually for the area there is a garden, which is enclosed and has a table & chairs on the patio. A very enjoyable holiday in a great cottage!

Lovely stay at Lighthouse Cottage

This was our fourth stay at this lovely cottage. Great location, no need for car, close to beach, shops and restaurants and pubs. A good layout of rooms with plenty of space to relax. Very well equipped and comfortable sofas and beds with quality bed linen. Keepers Cottages provide an excellent service with someone always on hand to answer any questions. The property was both clean and tidy and the pretty garden was much appreciated as was the small welcome pack of Gilda's goodies. Will happily return again and again.

A lovely spacious cottage in a great location, very well maintained by Keepers Cottages. Especially like the quality beds and bed linen and the very well equipped kitchen. A pretty garden lovely to sit out on warm summer evenings. Our first choice cottage when visiting Deal.

Love this homely holiday cottage

We love staying at Lighthouse cottage, all the rooms are comfortable and especially love the sunroom for reading and the lovely back garden for hanging out in a quiet space. The house has everything we need for a comfortable relaxed stay for a week. The beach is pretty much on the doorstep and it's so lovely to be immersed right in the middle of the historic old town. So enjoyed our time here and it's probably the 5th time we have stayed at this cottage so we do very much enjoy it here and would recommend the house and Deal.

Lighthouse Cottage abundant with simple pleasures.

Positioned in a charming square north of the town and very close to the beach and town centre. The cottage is spacious with plenty of comfortable seating, well stocked kitchen equipment. There are thick, large soft towels; crisp white linen; birdsong in a lovely courtyard garden. If the door is on the latch one has a gentle breeze blowing through. A real find. Wonderful AREA

The four of us loved our stay at the Lighthouse Cottage. A close walk to most places. Our neighborhood was so friendly and helpful. Some walked us home or partway. We love England and the people. The cottage was so quaint & everything in it worked just fine. It was so nice to have many places to sit & be comfortable. We weren’t ready to leave We did travel around to the closer towns, especially to see The White Cliffs of Dover. I was a child of WWII, so seeing the cliffs was very special for me. All through the war years, hearing the song The White Cliffs of Dover. The crew Judy, Jodi, Judy & Kim

A comfortable house.

We have stayed in this house several times over the past few years and we return because we feel at home here. This year we have noticed the wear and tear on furniture. Stains on the sofas and the rattan unravelling on the furniture in the conservatory making it uncomfortable to sit there. The situation is, however, quiet and very convenient. You can do everything in Deal on foot from Lighthouse Cottage. We live abroad so we cross the Channel and stay here before continuing on to a further destination. Parking is a nightmare. It would be so much easier if the owners were to provide a parking permit for Alfred Square. It would be justifiable at the present price. This house has charm but could slowly do with an upgrade.

Excellent choice for central Deal

We had such a great stay at this cottage. It is perfectly located for the town, station and beach, and is in a peaceful setting - being within the square also added something different. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would need for a holiday and little touches such as provision of coffee, dishwasher tablets, soap etc. just added to the ease. As a larger group, we appreciated the various different rooms downstairs that we could spread out in and also the multiple bathrooms. We particularly enjoyed the garden - especially having stayed during a bit of a heatwave - and made use of it through various points in the day. I am a keen gardener myself and appreciated being in a well planted garden - so many olive trees! There was even was a meteor shower event while we stayed, which we had an excellent view of from the garden. I can't think of any downsides to this cottage. The only very minor thing was the uncertainty with what to do with rubbish for recycling. The friendliness and efficiency of the booking agency was also appreciated as it made everything feel easy - thank you team!

Paint is peeling off the walls. The ensuite and cloakroom are iceboxes. Carpets worn and dirty. No heating in the conservatory. Shame. Such a lovely cottage. Needs updating for that price.

Love Deal

Lovely weekend with friends. Keepers Cottage is in a great location for the town and the beach. It’s is comfortable and well equipped. Only one criticism, no welcome pack. A bottle of milk would have been great.

A new lovely memory made.

We have stayed in the area before and wanted to take our grandson on his first sea fishing trip. We had had such a good time. A great memory made. The house is so close to the sea the town and the pier. It caters for all age ranges ( except stairs). The garden is an added bonus, a quiet little sun trap. We are already planning more time there.

Great stay

We had a brilliant 4 nights at lighthouse cottage. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. Good information pre arrival from the keepers cottages team. Close to the beach and town centre but located in a quiet square within the conservation area- perfect location. Our children aged 11 and 10 loved it too. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely Deal

We found Lighthouse Cottage conveniently located on quiet Alfred Square. For 2 middle age golfers the cottage was perfectly outfitted. We particularly enjoyed the solarium and garden area for late afternoon drinks. I look forward to returning to Kent next year and hopefully at Lighthouse Cottages. Cheers.
