We didn't know this area, but know that the ocean is quieter on the smaller bays, which is what brought us to Huatulco with our 4 year old. He was able to swim and enjoy the beach which has few waves.
The multiple pools were fun to try. The property is very safe and well maintained. Some people came by to sell us fresh fish - that was a plus! No need to head into town.
The flat itself has everything you need and is quite comfortable. You get a nice sunrise right into the house, and then the afternoons are cooler without the direct sun.
The condos were mostly empty at this time - good or bad depending on what you're looking for. For us this was nice, as we had the pools to ourselves. Note that these condos are mostly owned by Canadians or Americans. There is a restaurant on the property which served good food, though we preferred the beach ambience personally.
The beach itself is open to the public so it has a nice mix of locals and visitors. We did a boat trip where we caught a fish and had it prepared by the restaurant right on the beach!
The location of the condos may feel secluded if you're a walker. There are no shops or anything within walking distance. However, taxis are cheap and readily available. With our small child, this was not a problem.
The town itself is pleasant and has everything for shopping you'd need to keep the fridge stocked.
Brenda was very helpful with any questions we had, including organizing trips.
