Re: VRBO property 1107951a
reservation ID HA-NPOS56
dates 06 aug – 20 Aug 2022
6 adults 4 children.
As the property owner is holding my driving licence to ransom I would like to make these details known. ( the licence I thought was to be copied and returned, but held as a 1000.00 euro bond)
Unfortunately from the start there was a language barrier as we speak very little French, so the house rules etc was all in French and she was trying to relay back to us. (we feel that there should be English translated book, as there would more English visitors)
When we first arrived we noticed that the roof was covered in tarpaulins, (not their fault as there was a big storm in June, we were told) but at night and when it was windy it was very noisy
The rooms were picked by our families according to requirements ( having 3 young boys and a 3 year old girl) as we we walked round to check the rooms, one parent with the 3 year old said that the toilet was not working in her room, to which the owner just said “ you will have to use another, its broken” at no point during our holiday was any attempt made to fix the toilet which left just one toilet for two families downstairs.
The accommodation had changed slightly from the original photos in that the upstairs green bedroom originalyl had 1 double and two single beds with a dividing curtain for privacy again this was one of the reasons for choosing this property. The room now had No privacy curtain and two sets of bunk beds therefore sleeping 6 this left very little room to move around , again we accepted this with good grace.
The “Private” pool that was for our benefit was used by other families at times.
The electricity and therefore fridge-freezer failed one day and when we arrived back to the cottage
we had no lighting all night, and the food in the freeze had thawed, therefore leaving it no good. We tried a number of times to contact the owner but to no avail, as she and her husband had gone to Morocco the day before, although she had an emergency number to call in the information pack.
We were asked at what time would we be leaving on 20th, to which we informed them we need to be leaving no later than 9:am. She told us her daughter would be coming for the handover but left no number to contact her.
When it came to the Saturday 20th, we all got up early cleaned and cleared the house ready for the daughter, we waited expecting her to arrive around 8am as this could take up to
