This cabin home was charming and lovely. The setting is so peaceful and serene. We enjoyed our stay very much. Unfortunately it rained the entire weekend but we still hiked the boardwalk and the Wolf Creek Trail (the rain didn’t stop us). Nick and Laura are wonderful hosts. We highly recommend this place.

This rental is fantastic. The home is clean, comfortable and surrounded by a large treed lot. The property includes a creekside deck, a firepit, and a screened porch to enjoy the sights and sounds. It is a real gem of a location, surrounded by nature, peaceful and private. As advertised, it's "a perfect northern get-away."

This was our second trip to the cabin. It did not disappoint. Again very clean and comfortable. The feeling of peace and zen cannot be accurately expressed. really quiet and I have a nice birdfeeder right outside the dining room window and you can watch the birds many different species, beautiful porch. You can look out the window in the morning and eat your breakfast and a great dock easy walk to fish and watch the river flow the my room had a overhead ceiling fan, which was awesome. This is a great place to relax and unwind. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was nice and quiet and the view of the creek was a plus. We especially liked the screen house in the back. So nice to sit in and have your morning coffee. The inside was nice, clean and cozy. We went to Mio and shopped in the Pioneer store, the Creamery and the little Amish bakery on Kittle road. They have delicious cookies and great bread. We also went to Ma Deeters restaurant for dinner and the food was really good. The owners are super nice and helpful too. All in all we would highly recommend staying here.

We cherish this part of Michigan and all that it has to offer.

My Grandparents purchased their property 3 miles north of Luzerne on the Big Creek way back in 1944. They started building their "Red" Cabin in 1965 ( I was 2 years old ).

My wife Laura and I purchased their Cabin in 1997 and have over the years purchased a few others in the area for the purpose of preservation. All of our properties are somewhat connected and private. We live in one that is centrally located to the rest. We do have 1 exception which is a Cabin on the outskirts of Mio.
Mio is 6 miles away and is the County Seat.

- We are located within the Huron Nation Forest and the Ausable River Valley.

- A large Amish Community in the Mio area with many tidy farms and interesting retail stores.

- There is a very large network of ATV and Snowmobile Trails.

- Horse Back Riding
* our area is part of the "Michigan Shore to Shore Trail"

- Cross Country Skiing

- All Species Fishing, Kayaking/Canoeing/Tubing the Ausable. There are many access points for fishing and many canoe liveries in the area.
