Wow, what a perfectly peaceful place! The 3 seasons room is LIFE! Communication from the host was great, the place was very clean and it provided exactly the reset we needed. I did think that we were in the middle of nowhere with no neighbors though, that was not the case (if that matters to you).

This is such a peaceful setting. Sit on the dock, or screened in porch and let the sound of Big Creek melt away the stress of the world. The cabin has everything you need to cook meals on site either in the kitchen or on the grill. If you don't mind chilly water, get in at Randall and float back to the dock. Or just splash in the shallow water right at the dock. Seriously, this is the place to go to relax! We'll be back.

This cabin home was charming and lovely. The setting is so peaceful and serene. We enjoyed our stay very much. Unfortunately it rained the entire weekend but we still hiked the boardwalk and the Wolf Creek Trail (the rain didn’t stop us). Nick and Laura are wonderful hosts. We highly recommend this place.

this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Very rustic, remote, water flow was great and lulling. So nice I am now looking for similar places to buy. The hosts were extremely attentive to our needs.

We cherish this part of Michigan and all that it has to offer.

My Grandparents purchased their property 3 miles north of Luzerne on the Big Creek way back in 1944. They started building their "Red" Cabin in 1965 ( I was 2 years old ).

My wife Laura and I purchased their Cabin in 1997 and have over the years purchased a few others in the area for the purpose of preservation. All of our properties are somewhat connected and private. We live in one that is centrally located to the rest. We do have 1 exception which is a Cabin on the outskirts of Mio.
Mio is 6 miles away and is the County Seat.

- We are located within the Huron Nation Forest and the Ausable River Valley.

There are several points of interest in the area.....

- A large Amish Community in the Mio area with many tidy farms and interesting retail stores.

- There is a very large network of ATV and Snowmobile Trails.

- Horse Back Riding
* our area is part of the "Michigan Shore to Shore Trail"

- Cross Country Skiing
"Loud Creek"

- Golfing:
"Fairview Hills"

" Garland"

- All Species Fishing, Kayaking/Canoeing/Tubing the Ausable. There are many access points for fishing and many canoe liveries in the area.

A peaceful hike above the cedar swamp to the Big Creek bridge and beyond

- 3 Scenic Overlooks:
"Camp Ten Bridge"
"Consumers Energy Overlook"
"McKinley Road Overlook"

- Ma Deeters in Luzerne provides great food and drinks

- Luzerne Express (gas and grocery) is next door to Ma Deeters.

- Mio has several good Restaurants / Pizza shop / Bar ( Mio Saloon ) and a larger grocery store (Family Fare).
