Amazing villa, superb views, close to village, private pool

Nestled in the mountains, just a 15-minute walk from the pretty whitewashed village of Canillas de Aceituno, Villa Amores has spectacular panoramic views over the Sierra de Tejeda to the blue Mediterranean in the distance.

The house offers spacious accommodation and wonderful seclusion, perfect for those looking for contemporary comforts combined with rustic charm.

The ground floor is built in an open-plan layout. The comfortable and spacious living room has a central fireplace. Adjacent to the living room is the dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The interior is light and airy with beamed ceilings and French doors from the living-dining room open onto two terraces, where you can enjoy the beautiful views, relax, unwind, sip a cocktail or a glass of wine and enjoy the sunset.

In the hallway you will find the family bathroom with bath and shower, a downstairs bedroom (2 single beds), and the stairs to the top floor.

Upstairs, the landing leads to 2 more bedrooms (both doubles). Both bedrooms have their own dressing rooms and en-suite shower rooms.

Both bedrooms have access to a very large roof terrace, with stunning views of the valley, the Mediterranean, the village and the Sierra de Tejada mountains.

The living room and bedrooms benefit from fully equipped air conditioning, which also has a heating function. In addition, we have underfloor heating during the winter - November to March.

Outside, the covered terrace has a built-in electrical barbecue making it ideal for outdoor cooking, and the walled pool/sun terrace with an 8 x 4 pool ...
In summer the pool is heated naturally by the sun, in spring, autumn and winter the pool is not heated.

A winding path leads down from the upper terrace to the rest of the garden, including terraces, hammock, our "retreat tree", a small grove of carob, almond and olive trees.

The house is within walking distance of the picturesque village of Canillas de Aceituno. The village has a good variety of shops, bars, restaurants and other amenities. It is one of the most beautiful villages in the region. More shops and restaurants can be found in the nearby village of Vinuela.

Velez-Malaga and Torre del Mar are a 20-minute drive away and the Mediterranean Sea is just a 30-minute drive away.

Fantastic, the views from villa amores were stunning and the actual property was outstanding. If I was to give it a negative it would be the initial drive up to villa but once you got used to the roads it was ok.

Peaceful location

Great well equipped villa and pool set in the mountains. So peaceful, stunning views. 20 min walk to village where you find all you need including bars and restaurants serving very good local dishes..(and burgers). Would definitely come again.

Return to Villa Amores

We had two weeks of rest and relaxation in this wonderful villa. Our second visit and the changes made by the new owners have made the experience more enjoyable (electric barbecue is excellent and overcomes local fire restrictions). We will never tire of the peace and tranquility plus wonderful views across the mountains to the sea.

Beautiful villa in a stunning setting with amazing hosts

Lovely villa with a pool over looking the beautiful mountains. Peaceful and relaxing. The hosts were fantastic. Great communications and very helpful. The villa was nicely decorated and had everything that we needed to relax and enjoy a family holiday.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful stay over the week of Christmas. The house is beautifully decorated and well cared for. The view is just amazing, and we loved watching the sunrise and sunset over the valley each day. George was very responsive and kind in all of our communications, and we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great villa - great view

The villa is very well equipped (especially the kitchen) and the internal space is very comfortable. The terrace and pool area is ideal for a family group, with a good outdoor dining space and fantastic panoramic views over the surrounding hills. The villa's orientation makes it great for enjoying the sunset from the terrace. The garden is also lovely and well maintained (albeit on a steep slope). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

Perfection!!

Our stay was nothing short of perfect!! We played in the pool like small kids (we are 3 generations of women), slept like babies in the rural quiet and made lovely dinners from local ingredients from the village. The tiny town the villa is a part of is something out of a movie, the mountains -marvelous and the ease of travel in and around the area -incredible. We can’t say enough positive things about the place!!

Fabulous luxury Villa ! !

Fabulous villa in a great location. We've stayed in many villas over the years and this is by far the best.The internal decoration and finishing touches make it a quality place to stay.There was great communication with the owner George. We left a necklace there and he even posted this on to my home at a cost to him. Hope to return in the future. Thank you George.

Wonderful villa in a wonderful place

We spent 3 weeks at Villa Amores. The place is absolutely stunning. Peace and quiet, nice rustic atmosphere but also very well equipped. The owners are very nice, helpful and correct during the booking procedure as well as during our stay. The villa is really looked after, the pool is cleaned and maintained regularly. If you can spare some time for driving, there are a lot of thing to do. We found some wonderful beach (once we went down at 07.00 am and we were alone till 11.00 am on the whole beach!!!), some nice restaurant, also you can find waterparks, some cultural events and places (e.g. Picasso Museum in Malaga) etc. I would strongly recommend this villa for everybody to try!

What a fantastic Villa

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Villa Amores, the house and location are simply stunning. It was everything my family and I had hoped for and more. The rustic house itself is very spacious, beautifully decorated and equipped with all the facilities you would need for your stay. The garden was an absolute joy, whether we were playing in the pool, relaxing taking in the views on the balcony or having lunch in the outdoor eating area it was an idyllic setting. I could sit taking in the mountain views all day long. I cannot recommend Villa Amores enough, all the family had a wonderful time and would love to go back again. It was also a pleasure dealing with the owners George and Daniel, who made the stay as easy and painless as possible.

Fantastic villa in a stunning location.

The property was excellent. The location was stunning and was a great base for visiting other tourist areas. The beds were super comfy and we loved that there were essentials provided such as toilet roll, kitchen roll, washing up liquid and cloths, dishwasher tablets cling film, salt, pepper, oil etc. The pool was great for cooling off. The small road leading up to the villa was a little terrifying as I don't like heights, but my husband, who was driving, said it was fine. The rooms were hot at night, despite the aircon, but then Spain was experiencing a heat wave at the time of our stay. The villa was a real home from home and beautifully decorated with locely finishing touches. The brand new bathrooms were fantastic! We would definitely recommend.

The year before it was only a sand road now it's cemented so driving is fine but a bit stoep maybe for the paint hearted:-) Our caretaker will check the air-cons because they normally work even with hot nights. Great house and facilities, lovely location

We stayed at Villa Amores late last year. The house is wonderful, 3 very spacious bedrooms, modern and clean but still with the character of a country house. The house, pool and gardens around the terrace too were well looked after. I understand from the new owners and the video they put on youtube.com that they have made some changes/ additions, which I really look forward to discovering during our next visit. Also wonderful is the proximity from the village - a 20-30 minute walk uphill - to get to the 4 restaurants in the village. We understand that the house has owners now so I contacted George to see if we can stay there again this year (2015) and yes we can - great communication by the way, well done!

Wonderful house in great location

Our family stayed at Villa Amores for a week in May - much too short... The house is wonderful and the location is amazing; the views over the mountains and sea (well visible on clear days) is breathtaking, as are the mature gardens and pool. The facilities were excellent, all the rooms were spacious and very clean, very nicely decorated. We had a romantic 4 poster bed, which was soo comfortable. The village Canillas is very charming and has all the facilities you need for basic food shopping, and 3 very decent restaurants to choose from. We also visited the beaches at Torre del Mar, which are really nice. George also provided us with information on other restaurants and things to do in the local area - thanks, very helpful! We will certainly return if we come back to discover more of this beautiful part of Spain, and can only recommend the villa.

This was a late booking and communication with the owners was great from the start. The instructions were faultless and help was given on a hire car.The property is in the mountains and the drive to the property has great views and was easy (around one hour to Malaga airport). The villa, gardens and pool area were great. The villa is very well equipped and is like a home from home. Three bedrooms, three bathrooms, lovely modern kitchen and every utensil you would ever need. Furniture, furnishings and decor were perfect. It is by far the best villa we have stayed at over the years. We spent most of our time round the pool area - with spectacular views over the “campo”.We stocked up with food at a big supermarket then drove int9 the village every other day to top up. The butcher’s shop was good but the highlight was the bakery - El_Soyuco - gorgeous pistachio croissants and cheesecakes. Do not miss out on that shop. We also had a lovely meal at The Secret Garden.We had a day in Malaga, a trip to Antequera and a trip to Nerja caves. Temperatures were around 29 degrees all the time.All in all a great holiday for our family of three (all adults). Many thanks to everyone - owners and greeters.

Relaxing Location

The views from this property are truly wonderful. Dealing with the owners was straight forward and quick. The instructions to the property are amazingly detailed and easy to follow. On arrival, it is the views that hit you first - they go on for ever. The property is well furnished and was spotlessly clean. It is spacious which the photographs do not show well and flows very well. The outside area is well kept and tidy with plenty of area's to sit and read or to enjoy the views. We all had a wonderful, relaxing time with many local walks on the door step. The bedrooms are also spacious and individually furnished with comfortable beds. A truly wonderful villa where the only noise's are the birds and in the early evening the goats moving on to pastures new with their bells ringing. A perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of our modern noisy world and highly recommended.

Beatiful house, great location

This is a wonderful house, beautifully decorated and very well kited. We (4 adults and 2 teens) spent 10 todays this summer and enjoyed the house, the local town, the proximity to the sea and a not too long drive to Granada. Villa Amores is decorated with incredible taste, it is larger than the feel you get from the photos. The rooms are very comfortable, the living room / dining room / kitchen area is large. We spent a lot of time in the outside terrace in the evenings looking at the sun going down across the hills. Of course we enjoyed the pool and the sun. There are several places in the town to eat, a few bars and shops for basic food stuff. Half an hour drive there is a well sorted super market and the sea side. We highly recommend Villa Amores and hope to return soon. George was very helpful and there is good information on the town and surroundings, plus a good bottle of wine upon arrival. George, thank you very much for such a wonderful house, we have great memories to last a long time.

Simply perfect

First of all a big thank you to George - for the great communication and information we received before our arrival. No silly question of mine was too much trouble. The house itself is an absolute dream. We stayed here in September for 2 weeks and seriously enjoyed the location, pool and house itself + the surrounding areas. The house is tastefully decorated, was comfortable and had everything we wished for - a good kitchen, great BBQ and very comfy beds (much bigger than it looks on the pictures). The first few nights we only sat on the terrace, and the sun set is beautful, peaceful and quiet. We spent a few days at the small beaches near Nerja, highly recommended as it does not look like the beaches of the Costa del Sol with its horrible high flats. We also took on the challenge to get to the top of the Maroma - it took a few hours but when we got there it was as if the world was at our feet, so peaceful, and then we had to get back down again... The village of Canillas de Aceituno is picture perfect, small and very cosy. The 3 restaurants are certainly worth a visit. We also had lunch at the "Las Perlas" restaurant which George recommended - and indeed it was jummy. Also the internet connection is super fast! All in all a great holiday, and a house to return to...

Villa Amores: Thuiskomen in Luxe en Comfort

Villa Amores is een heerlijk gezinshuis, voorzien van alle gemakken die je nodig hebt voor een ontspannen vakantie. Vanaf het moment dat je binnenstapt, voel je je direct thuis. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Martin, die ons een rondleiding gaf en de omgeving toelichtte. De steile toegangsweg is netjes verhard, wat het goed begaanbaar maakt. Binnen valt meteen de lichte, open benedenverdieping op, dankzij de vele ramen. De keuken is volledig uitgerust voor het bereiden van heerlijke Spaanse maaltijden. In het nabijgelegen dorp zijn echter ook voldoende restaurants voor als je liever uit eten gaat. De ruime overkapping aan de woonkamer biedt een fantastisch uitzicht en een grote 12-persoons tafel om van maaltijden te genieten. De elektrische barbecue maakt buiten koken eenvoudig. Het zwembad ligt iets los van het zitgedeelte; hoewel groot en uitnodigend, hebben we er minder gebruik van gemaakt. Op de begane grond is een slaapkamer met badkamer. Wij sliepen echter boven, waar twee slaapkamers met airco en nieuwe badkamers zijn. De bedden zijn comfortabel en er is genoeg kastruimte, zelfs voor twee tieners. Het grote balkon biedt een schitterend uitzicht over de bergen. Kortom, Villa Amores is een heerlijke plek waar je je snel thuis voelt. Perfect voor een ontspannen gezinsvakantie.

Locatie, locatie, locatie…

Uitstekend verzorgde vakantiewoning waar aan alles is gedacht, op een schitterende locatie. Veel privacy en een magnifiek uitzicht. George antwoord meteen en is zeer behulpzaam bij alle vragen. Sterk aan te raden als vakantieverblijf.

Off the beaten track........ but wow

The villa itself is very well presented with 3 spacious bedrooms, nice open living / dining and kitchen area and a great outdoors communal area for eating, relaxing, topped off with a fair sized pool. The upstairs bedrooms share a large balcony and the nightsky view from there is spectacular. It is a tricky drive initially to get there but you do get used to this and when you arrive you are met with spectacular scenery making it very worthwhile! Just ensure you hire an adequate car. There is a nice village 5 min drive away, with a few bars and restaurants but plan ahead and get your bulk provisions on route as the village only has a very limited selection. Don't worry all of this information is made clear by the owners if you book including good directions on how to get there and where the nearest supermarket is on route etc. In summary this is not a beach location and beaches are around 45 mins drive. But it is a tranquil, resplendent setting that makes this space a little more special, a great find.

Beautiful Villa

Beautiful Villa with amazing views. So peaceful with a lovely village just a short distance away. We booked very last minute and George, one of the property owners, was so helpful. Would definitely recommend this property.

Séjour Zen

Maison Andalouse typique ,éloignée des grosses stations balnéaires bruyantes. La vue est absolument magnifique , le jardin luxuriant invite à la détente. Il règne un calme absolu, parfait pour se reposer. La maison est très agréablement décorée et tout est prévu , il ne manque rien pour le déroulement du séjour.
