Albertine is situated in a beautiful garden setting covering approximately a quarter acre just off the Rue Du Petit Fort one of Dinan's prettiest pedestrianised streets, the garden covers approximately a quarter acre and is on three levels linked by a spiral staircase and stone steps. Each garden has its own special appeal and offers stunning views over the rooftops of Dinan and to the hillside beyond.Restaurants, bars, creperies, theatre, specialist shops, bus and train stations all close by. Lively historic port with boat hire and waterside walks. Sandy beaches, Dinard (airport) St Malo (ferry port within 30 minutes drive. Don't forget the Fete des Ramparts, a medieval feast of Drama and entertainment held every two years , the next one is from 22 July 2023 to23 July 2023 Please contact the owner for a discount on Brittany Ferries Crossings.

The hosts were brilliant, the property was really well presented and the outside space was awesome, really everything we could have asked for. The local town is mediaeval and has some fantastic walks, food and shops, a short walk down to the river and the riverside restaurants and boating trips.The hosts, Robyn and Ross almost feel.like family and we will definately be back.

Dinan

A very nice, hidden little spot in the middle of the old town. Very wel equipped and cared for (for instance we were happy to have some coffee for the first morning and stuff to do the dishes). And indeed, the garden is beautiful (to stay in) and host Robyn is very kind and helpful in all concerns. I sometimes had a little trouble in finding enough space in the not too big bed, but we always could find a place for our car in the neighbourhood.

Maybe the best Holiday Home in Brittany

We had an amazing time in Dinan. You feel all the love and passion Robyn is giving in this place and we are so thankful to be able to live here for a week. The house and the garden are so beautiful and Robyn cared so much, she just made it perfect. We would love to come back again.

I have stayed at many giveaway properties but very few have been as perfect as this one.

This cottage is a perfect property as your home away from home. From its charming decor to its stunning gardens it has all the amenities needed to make this a perfect retreat. The cottage is in immaculate condition and Robyn provided the little extras that make it so special- a bottle of wine and homemade muffins! The location is also perfect for exploring the quaint town of Dinan as well as some of the other charming areas around Brittany. This is one of those places that I would return to over and over again if I lived closer.

Amazing location, wonderful host

Pictures cannot do this property justice, it is in a stunning location. Robyn is a wonderful host who could not do enough for us. The property is small but has everything we needed and is perfect for two, we stayed a week and were so sad to leave. The exterior of the property is a real treasure, gardens tended by the host and a rooftop terrace to soak up the summer sun, very private. The property is on a wonderful street, leading from the port to the town, Dinan is simply beautiful. We would not hesitate to recommend this property and would love to return.

"little diamond of dinan!" Where do i start?.... the wonderful welcome of 2 lovely people and their pretty little pooch who greet you with homemade jam, muffins and wine, or the dynamic Robyn who puts herself well out to ensure your holiday runs smoothly as possible, the beautiful gardens with their panoramic views or even the luxurious bedlinen, soft furnishings and rustic charm of Albertine cottage herself? It really doesnt matter where i start because i couldnt think of anywhere better to stay than Albertine to compliment the sheer beauty of Dinan. Thankyou robyn, ross, molly and the "little diamond of dinan!" xx

We spent nearly 2 weeks living in Albertine and our stay was perfect in every way. We endorse all that other reviewers have said about Albertine and the sister, slightly smaller, gite Jasmine. Albertine is a good size for a couple. On the first floor is a generous double bed with lovely sheets and the bathroom is on the same floor. A large TV downstairs in the living room is tuned to English channels. Parking is free and was always available on a steep road nearby. You must be able to cope with steep cobbled slopes, but that is one of the charms of living in this beautiful historic town which we were revisiting after many years. Robyn was the perfect hostess. She works hard in her beautiful garden which was in its prime. One day a blackcap serenaded us at breakfast, always taken outside. We thoroughly recommend Albertine

All expectations exceeded

We booked Albertine Cottage for a week towards the end of a six week tour of France. We chose Dinan largely because of its location in relation to many sights including Mont Saint Michel but five minutes after our arrival, we realised that we had happily happened onto a real gem. For a start, the accommodation is as comfortable and beautiful as promised by the website photos but you can't appreciate a setting like a medieval film set until you are in it; and the gite is right in the middle of all this! The website didn't mention the friendly, supportive welcome that you get from Robyn and Ross and their beautiful fluffy dog, Molly. We had done enough homework to know Dinan is in a wonderful position, but we didn't realise until Robyn and Ross opened our eyes to a wealth of other attractions. Our favourite destinations, other than Le Mont Saint Michel, were day trips to Jersey, St Malo, the D Day beaches and Caen, Bayeaux, the oysters at Cancale, the walk to Léhon, the battlements around Dinan and the markets, particularly at Rennes. Suffice to say, we stayed two weeks and we are planning to return.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt in der sehr gemütlich eingerichteten Wohnung und dem wunderschönen Garten sehr genossen. Wir wurden von Robyn sehr herzlich empfangen und war uns eine sehr gute Gastgeberin. Die Ausstattung der kleinen Wohnung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Un petit paradis de calme

Excellent séjour dans le jardin de Robyn, idéalement situé en plein Dinan, entre le port et les remparts. Un petit coeur de verdure dans la ville. Superbe jardin très calme. Robyn nous a fourni plein de bons tuyaux sur la ville et les alentours. Nous avons hâte d'y revenir.

Excellent séjour, le cadre est magnifique. Le jardin est de toute beauté. Robyn est une hôtesse discrète et aux petits soins, confiture et muffins maison, une bouteille de vin au frais nous avons été choyés. Dinan est une très jolie destination.

Le star de nos vacances

Notre appartement chez Robyn était impeccable . Le jardin avec ses terrasses était vraiment beau. Et Robyn elle-même était très généreuse avec son temps . Dinan était très agréable et les environs aussi.

Bon séjour à Dinan

Le gîte de Robynest un petit coin de paradis dans un jardin magnifique. Il est très bien équipé tout y est ! Il y a même, entre autre, des peignoirs ! Nous avons été accueillis avec de très bon muffins faits maison et une très bonne confiture de framboise faite maison également c’est très bien situé dans une ville tout aussi magnifique. Nous recommandons sans problème.

Albertine and Jasmine are situated in a completely walled private garden in one of Dinan,s prettiest streets.The two gardens offer peace and quiet after a day of sightseeing. The apartment is equipped with everything you need, including linen,all cooking utensils, pots pans cutlery, china , glassware etc etc. English and French TV and wifi. Also included are oils, vinegar, salt, pepper, tea, milk, coffee,bathrobes, outdoor furniture gas BBQ. A welcome bottle of wine on arrival plus homemade jam and muffins. .
Albertine has been decorated to a very high standard with comfortble furnishings.
All shops and restaurants are reachable on foot. Also the Port is only a 5 minutes walk away with it,s river, restaurants and walks along the towpath. St Malo, Dinard, Dol de Bretagne, le Mont St Michel are popular destinations for our guests. We can assure you of a wonderful stay here in beautiful Dinan.
