El Palo is a neighbourhood in Malaga, Spain. It is located in the Eastern District, 8.7 km from the city centre. According to the official delimitation of the city council, El Palo is bordered to the north by the neighbourhoods of Villa Cristina, Miraflores del Palo, El Drago, Las Cuevas and La Pelusa; to the east by Miramar del Palo; to the south by the neighbourhood of Playas del Palo; and to the west by Echeverría del Palo and Pedregalejo. However, the area between Monte San Antón and the Mediterranean Sea, bounded by the Jaboneros and Gálica streams, is traditionally known as El Palo, and in a broader sense, the whole of the eastern end of Málaga. It has a population of 54,213 inhabitants.
