Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: Between Helston and Marazion on the south coast is the village of Praa Sands. The mile-long sandy beach at Praa Sands and the great surfing conditions make it famous. A bar/restaurant that has a view of the beach is the ideal place for a meal with a view or sunset beverages. In addition, Praa Sands is home to a golf course and country club, where you may play while taking in the most stunning views of the ocean. The 16th-century tower of Pengersick Castle is located not far inland from the coastline. Pengersick is rumoured to be haunted, and a monk's spirit has allegedly been spotted walking the grounds. John Carter, the self-styled King of Prussia, is said to have been born in the Pengersick home, and smugglers are said to have formerly utilised a tunnel that extends from the house to the beach. In Penzance (8 kilometres) and Helston, there are supermarkets and other shopping establishments (6 miles).
