Bedrooms

Bedroom 1 – King size bed with en-suite facilities - shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin.
Bedroom 2 – Twin beds.

Bed linen is provided.

Bathrooms

En- suite in King bedroom with shower cubicle, toilet and hand basin.

Main bathroom with walk in shower, toilet and hand basin.

Starter toilet roll. Hand & bath towel for number of guests booked are provided.

Open Plan Kitchen / Diner / Lounge

Fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, dining and cooking essentials, dishwasher & washing machine.

Tea towels, J cloth, sponge, washing up liquid, antibacterial surface spray, hand wash, dishwasher tablets and a starter kitchen roll provided.

Lounge with Smart TV and dining area with table and chairs for 4 guests. Double French doors lead out to the veranda with dining furniture and steps down to the garden with a picnic table and the waters edge.

Mooring and Parking

Private quay headed mooring. Use of slip way on request. Please advise us if you are bringing a boat.

Private Parking x 2 cars – additional parking is available in the car park free of charge to guests – please request.

Dog friendly

Our lodges are dog friendly - max 2 dogs - £30 charge per pet applies.

Extra information

Fish bait fridge and 2 x recliner sun loungers.
Fishing is permitted in season only, a rod license is required.
Please note - Unfenced deep water at the end of the garden.

Another very pleasant stay

Very nice three week stay. Everything was really good. I was allowed to moor boats next to the lodge - the boats were safe and sheltered. This would be an excellent base for anyone who wants land-based accomodation with time out on the water.

Yet another Perfect stay at River Rest

This was our 4th visit to River Rest and yet again we were not disappointed. Everything about the property makes you come away feeling so relaxed. Tina was as attentive as ever, she goes above and beyond to make sure the customers are happy. There was lots of fishing, although I did not have the same opportunity this year as we spent more time away from the lodge. Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you to all the NHL team.

Stunning place to stay

Brilliant place to stay in a peaceful location everything was spotlessly clean we had a great relaxing break the fishing was excellent will be definitely rebooking I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing break

Beautiful & relaxing

Loved our stay at River Rest. We had fabulous weather last week but even if it wasn't it would still of been such a great place to relax for a week. The pictures don't do it justice. Very private, Clean, well situated. The lodge is comfortable & has everything you need. The village itself has a co-op takeaways & a great handyman store where you can buy Swan & Duck food for the many visitors you will have! We stayed in a few days purely because there was no where else we would rather be. We sat watching boats go by, we painted did jigsaws ( we took with us) & just chilled. Some nights we cooked ( kitchen well stocked with utensils) Good sized smart tv. Comfy beds. Great communication with Tina ( Manager) with regard to directions. Info in the lodge regarding where to visit. Can't wait to return next year.

Another great time was had.

Third time staying here. I take my small boat to explore the river and catch plenty of fish. Both my wife and I find it completely refreshing staying here and is like a second home. We love it.

Superb location and Lodge

A fantastic Lodge in a great and quiet location, super views. Plenty of space, big TV screen, warm and cosy, virtually everything you could think of needing or using they supply. Another great stay

Another great stay at this lovely site. Tina excelled as always, with treats for the dogs and friendly welcome. Weather dry, fish caught (so men happy). We will return.

A lovely last minute stay

The lodge was spotlessly clean, and everything you would need for a stay, it felt like home away from home. The doggy basket was a real hit with our Max who was on his first holiday. We enjoyed sitting outside the lodge watching the swans and exploring Norfolk. A really lovely stay! Not a lot of luck fishing for my dad but hasn’t put us off staying again.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful spot, uncomfortable sofa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The only downside was that the sofas were very low which made it difficult for us oldier and less mobile people to get up from.

Idilic Getaway

We have just spent five days at River Rest and it was simply perfect. Really felt like home from home inside the lodge with everything you could want provided. Sitting watching the boats and bird life floating right past your window was just so peaceful, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay here and would love to come back ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble for Tina who was there to welcome us.

Year 2 at River Rest

We re booked this lodge for a 2nd year due to its quiet location. Once again on arrival we found the lodge to be clean and ready for us, Tina the manager turned up to check the electric was on due to a previous outage, all good. If you want peace and quiet and a spot of fishing I can suggest Norfolk Holiday Lodges.

Great Lodge

We cannot fault the lodge at all. Super clean, large and spacious and with a view out to the river from the balcony doors that makes you relax straightaway. We couldn't believe that there is everything you need here. We would definitely come back again.

Our holiday break

I booked river rest because of its location near water being a keen angler myself, the cottage/lodge looks idyllic in the pictures and did not disappoint when we arrived. My wife and I needed a peaceful break from the hustle and bustle and were not at all disappointed. All in all a lovely time, and re booked for next year by the way.

Relaxing

Lovely setting, very quiet although no one else was staying in the other 3 lodges when we stayed. Loved watching the boats going past whilst sat on the veranda. Frequently visited by ducks and a heron. Village had everything you needed and the bakery at the marina was great for coffee and pastries. Lodge clean and today with everything you needed for stay.

A truly tranquil place.

We loved our week here. I don't think I have ever stayed anywhere as tranquil. Sitting on the deck watching the river, the boats and the wildlife was very relaxing. We saw Heron, kingfishers,swans and a variety of waterfowl. We ate good pub grub at the White Heron and had a very good takeaway from The Bay leaf Indian restaurant. There is a very good cafe on the marina for bacon baps and fresh bread and pastries and the train into Norwich takes 10 minutes. A really good spot from which to explore the Broads and parts of the lovely Norfolk coast.

Everything we hope for

It has everything my wife and I need. Great area for days out dog walking then in my small fishing boat, which I take with me for a few hours fishing. We have seen otters next to the boat, Kingfishers zipping here and there. The odd seal and loads more wildlife from the boat. It’s not the first time we’ve been and hopefully will be going back soon.

3rd Excellent stay at River Rest

This was our 3rd stay at River Rest and yet again we were not disappointed. The lodge was super clean. It was so relaxing sitting on the veranda watching the boats go by. It is so peaceful that you immediately go into a relaxation mode. The fishing was good catching plenty of mullet, bream, perch & roach. Tina, the Lodge Manager was super helpful yet again, and goes over & beyond to assist her customers. We have already booked and are looking forward to our 4th stay next year. Many thanks for everything.

Another excellent stay at River Rest

River Rest is a perfect lodge to stay at for a relaxing break. The lodge is perfectly equipped and very clean. This was our second stay and we have booked for next year. The fishing is also an added plus for anglers. There is nothing negative to say about this property as you return from your break feeling so relaxed. We also take our dog with us and she loves it. A special mention to Tina, who cannot do enough for all her customers. Looking forward to our return next year.

Fully renovated in March 2023, River Rest has all you need for a great base in the Norfolk Broads. Relax by the waterside or venture out onto the Broads with your own boat or hire one locally. Quay heading available for mooring and slipway on site for launching your own Boat, Kayak or Paddleboard.
Great touring base with Norwich and Great Yarmouth accessible by train and the Norfolk coast and countryside easily accessible and many family attractions close by.
