Seaside Cottage with Balcony and Grill

Welcome to a fantastically nice, sunny and unique accommodation on Tjärnö, an island just south of Strömstad. Here you live with a lovely sea view, swimming and jetty just a few meters away in a calm and pleasant environment with the forests near the beach, forest animals and birdsong around the corner. From the jetty you can enjoy sun and swimming but also all kinds of boats, the inner fairway towards Strömstad goes right outside. The cabin is also perfect for those of you who want to go out with your own kayak, there are many fine paddling routes in the area. The area has several islands with varied possibilities, including the Daftö resort with its large amusement park for children, pool area, swimming beaches, restaurants, service shop, etc. Saltö and Öddö are a few other islands in the area, there are plenty of easily ramped paths that run criss-cross across these islands. Here you can wander around in everything from straight-stemmed pine forest and sandy beaches to weather-exposed rock outcrops and cobblestone fields, the islands have several nature reserves and also a national park, Kosterhavets national park, one of Sweden's most species-rich areas. The cottage, with both its location close to the city and the sea, is a perfect starting point for exploring Strömstad and the surrounding area. The cottage is on two levels, from the front porch you are welcomed into the cozy and modern country kitchen, which has a lovely brick wood stove. Here there is a fridge and freezer, built-in microwave as well as a built-in oven, fan, stove, dishwasher. Next to the kitchen, there is a hallway that leads us into one of the bedrooms with a comfortable double bed and a nice view of the sea. The living room is adjacent to the kitchen and has access to the balcony. Here there is a beautiful tiled stove that warms well on chilly and muggy days. The dining room with dining room furniture is right next to the living room. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, washing machine and underfloor heating. From the hall, a staircase leads up to the second floor with two large bedrooms with a double bed in each room. On the balcony there is a grill and summer furniture group for cozy breakfast moments or relaxing barbecue evenings where you can sit and discuss today's adventure or plan tomorrow's excursions while the sun sets in the northwest. Outside the patio are large generous lawns, perfect for all kinds of games and play In Strömstad there is a large selection of activities, rich restaurant life, pleasant shopping in small shops that are close to each other or why not just sit and enjoy all the boats in the harbor area. If you want to experience more islands and archipelago environments, there are several boat charters and bathing boat trips from the harbor in the center out to several archipelago islands such as Furholmen or Kosteröarna but also to neighboring Norway. It is also possible to rent a boat or kayak for your own explorations. For those interested in golf, there are several 18-hole courses in the area. Good to know: During your stay, the gardener can drive around with a lawnmower on the plot. This should not bother you as tenants, but may be worth knowing.
