Outside there is off-road parking for four cars, a side lawn and a rear patio with furniture, barbecue and hot tub. Within 5.6 miles there is a shop and 1.6 miles a pub. There are also excellent parks, a charming cinema, the Pencil Museum, a climbing wall, fishing, and great mountain biking opportunities. Close by, between Braithwaite and Buttermere, is the stunning Newlands Valley, and the peaceful Bassenthwaite Lake is a sight to behold. There is a wide variety of walks to choose from, from strolls in the countryside to strenuous climbs of Skiddaw or the well-known Catbells.
