Lovely little cottage.
Lovely little cottage. We booked here as it was close to Cannon Hall Farm, Hall and gardens, which was the main purpose of our visit -10mins drive up the road! We travelled over 4 hours to get there.Parked on the road, small driveway to other properties you could probably stop outside to unpack if needed but we walked up from the road a few metres.We had all we needed for our stay - pots, pans utensils, towels, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc. after reading the reviews I took some extra little bits but didn’t need them.The cottage keeps the heat in and was definitely warm enough - was the last week of August. I would take some slippers as the floor is cold. Pillows were nice and soft. Beds were comfy enough, I had my two daughters aged 11 & 14 with me so the youngest shared with me.We went for a walk each evening, round the local woods and up the hill to watch the sunset from a very well positioned bench.Plenty of public footpaths to explore.There’s a local shop/convenience store but Tesco express is a few minutes drive away.We also visited Castleton- a scenic, (sometimes scary) drive across the Peak District about an hour. Then Meadowhall shopping centre, Sheffield, on our way home. Our only issue during our stay was that the WiFi wasn’t working. It had been organised for BT to visit The Friday morning (they turned up Saturday) but couldn’t be fixed. We had plenty of data on our phones but meant we couldn’t have the TV on as it needed internet to use. But I had my book and my daughters brought things to do so didn’t matter too much for our 3 nights there.Thankyou for a lovely break away
