Best place at Shores of Panama!

I’ve stayed at this resort several times & this is the best condo I’ve ever stayed in. It was spacious & up to date. It was perfect for our family of 10. I think this will be our annual vacation condo. Everyone absolutely loved it. If I could give it 6 stars I would!

Check in was no real clear. Drove in to parking deck. Had to go to the other parking deck to check in told us to park in 15 minute parking go check room to see if parking pass was in the room. It was there. No big issue. Just confusing. Great place to stay.

Overnight stay

It was an overall ok stay. When we arrived the unit had not been cleaned, so we couldn’t get in the room until about 6:30, 2 hours after check in. The mattresses and pillows need an upgrade, poor night sleep. Location was the best aspect, beach access, pool and outside bar a major plus.

Condo was great!

Condo was great! Elevators were slow. Thankful we were on the 4th floor and could take the stairs. It was nice to have security but was very disappointed about no floats in the pool and no drinks anywhere close to the pool.

fall break 2019

after reading the previous reviews, we stayed here anyway knowing we might have to clean. not many options for a family of eight. however, it was not as bad as other people commented. certain things were annoying i.e. can opener is broken, kitchen sink sprayer is broken, knives aren't sharp enough to slice tomatoes, coffee maker could be updated. other than that, it was pretty decent. beds were comfy. great views of pool and beach. i would stay here again.

Not for us

The parking spaces in the garage were so tight we could barely get In and out. Our room was on the far side from the garage so we had to walk a mile to get to our room. That kept us from going out alot due to the long walk. We couldn't sit on our balcony because the smell of Marijuana was so strong. Won't be staying there again

Decent but had its issues

The condo itself is fine. 3 bedroom and 3 bath is hard to find. The layout was nice but we definitely have a couple of complaints. Upon arrival there were three dead cockroaches. Like crispy dead. So apparently no one did a once over when preparing the condo for our rental or they would have seen them and would have cleaned them up. Not only were there three dead ones but I found a baby cockroach alive in my bed. So there is obviously a roach problem. They must not mop the floors because within 5 minutes of arriving my 11 month olds legs were black from how dirty the floor was. The only other complaint would be the wires around the master door frame. They were suppossed to be attached to the wall but they weren’t and because they weren’t my baby kept trying to pull at them. Overall the condo was fine but whatever company cleans the condo and looks after it needs to do better.

Condo not up to par.

This property needs several updates. Air conditioner filters needed changing. Carpets need cleaning. Very disappointed with the parking situation, there were 3 cars in our party. Had to park one off site with several spaces on floor available not designated for any condo Condo was not ready/clean at 4:00 pm. We got in, with maid still there. This was the day that the hurricane was coming and it was stated that workers could not get to work. We had been in the area from 10am in the morning and had no problem driving anywhere. Kids were disappointed that they could not use their floats in the pool. Security was also very rude to other tenants. We have stayed in various condos through out the past several years and this was definitely the worse. Kitchen sink was also loose and bathtub in one bedroom was clogged.

Great Place! Wristbands need to be fixed!

I loved the condo we stayed in. It was clean and had plenty of room for all of us. We had two parking spaces which worked out perfectly. However, you are given very cheap paper wristbands that you are expected to keep on the entirety of your stay. It is stated at the check in desk that if it begins to fall apart, you can come to the desk and get it replaced but it must still be on or you will need to pay $100 for a replacement band. My friends and I went to the desk multiple times to get them replaced because we did not want them to fall off. They offered to tape and staple it but could not provide another band. Eventually, mine and another friends bracelet fell off without our knowledge. They refused to give us a new wristband despite our efforts to prevent this from happening. My friend was not allowed inside the resort when she came back for about an hour before she was able to enter despite showing her name on the reservation, her ID, and anything else she could do to try and prove she was suppose to be here. It was very frustrating and I know many other people had the same problem we did. The wristbands need to be changed.

Enjoyed our stay, but there were small issues

We stay at SoP the last 5 years, and this was my least favorite rental to date. I've never had to leave any complaints before. My biggest complaint is that there is mold in the master bathroom, along the tub caulking and in some areas of the floor. I had to sweep the floors in the min area when we arrived bc there was sand already (which i know happens). And there were some shoddy spots of paint and repairs that were visible. Till now we have not had this experience at any of the other units we have rented from, so it was a little disappointing. Before we left I messaged through VRBO to ask what floors our reserved parking spaces were on, the response I got was that they were not reserved, but we could park in any of the yellow spaces. I pointed out the text in the description that says otherwise, and was told i misinterpreted it. Day 2 of our trip we notice two reserved spaces with our room numbers on them side by side on the fourth floor. I text one of the numbers that had been communicating with us to inquire, and was told yes they were ours... The parking code we were given a week before check in was no longer valid and we had issues getting in upon arrival and had to back up 2 cars into traffic and go around. So we had to reach out for the new number. No check information was provided besides a room code, the incorrect garage code, and a beach code that I'm still not sure what it was for. We did not know our bracelets were in our room, i found them on day 2 behind the paper towels. But that meant taking all 10 of us down to the registration desk after finding our random yellow parking spaces when we arrived. Overall the room is what it is and did the job, and I appreciate the communication we did receive. It just seemed like a bit of a mess of who is answering questions and clarity. I can handle the weird paint spots and repairs but the mold in the tub was what made me rate what we rated this stay. Also had a text requesting I take photos of the fridge and dishwasher for the owner to see, which again isn't a deal breaker but not something I would think a management company would ask renters to do (the person who asked for this did acknowledge how weird of a request it was) If you need a room for 10 at a decent price and a lower floor it's not all bad. Hopefully after this review they take care of the mold... otherwise it's not for us but might be okay for you.

This was an amazing property located right on the beach. The Confo was exactly hiow described online

We were a family staying with our kids and their friends. The Condo had more than enough room for us snd 7 teens/ young adults. The condo was on the corner of the 4th floor with awesome access to pool and beach. The condo had recently been redone snd the decor was beautiful. There was a ton of amazing outdoor furniture on the balcony that accommodated our whole crew for hanging out and dinning. As a VRBO owner at another location I was extremely impressed with the rental company! Very helpful and had everything waiting in the condo when we arrived. Wristbands, parking pas etc.. This condo has 2 parking spots which is a huge deal at this resort. We would definitely stay here again! Beautiful condo, beautiful resort. Only suggestion would be to add to/ update kitchen supplies/ utensils. as I did some cooking fir our crew and items were VERY limited.

Not for us

The pool is absolutely breathtaking, but parking was a total nightmare. We stayed in a three bed, three bath condo. We were joined at the property by our two grown children’s families. Therefore, we had three cars, BUT we were only given two parking passes. We were not informed about this until five days before check-in, long after our money had been paid. Our two daughters each have toddlers, so they had to have a car seat, which left my husband and I walking about a half mile every time we needed to go somewhere (we are in our late sixties). The parking slots allotted for the unit were so small our kids had to pull their mirrors in to park, plus the walk was unreal to get to the condo. This place is for young people who do not care about their cars. The public parking we were forced to use was $6 per day and had a sign that they were not responsible for any problems while our car was parked there. We will NEVER return to Shores of Panama. After this, we may consider a different town altogether?

Will not stay again

Extremely disappointed with our experience. After multiple email reminders to not arrive early for check in at 4 PM, the room had not even been touched to be cleaned when we arrived at 6PM. We were unable to get into our room until 8PM. Insanely frustrating after a day of travel. The parking garage was a nightmare. The elevators in the facility were either out of service or 30 minute wait. The appliances in the room itself are ridiculously outdated and falling apart: the microwave had no handle, the refrigerator had parts missing and did not have more than an ice box icemaker, the oven took 10 minutes to preheat. There were essential kitchen items missing from the cabinets. When I attempted to speak to management about the conditions of our stay, no one returned my calls or emails. I made 5 separate attempts, and have yet to hear from someone. This was by far our worst stay and Panama City Beach over the past 20 years. We definitely will not be staying again at the Shores of Panama.

Condo was clean and well maintained, beautiful view of the beach.

The property and pools were well maintained. Condo 428 accommodated 10 people nicely and had a beautiful view. Slight glitch with housekeeping over towels, but was corrected quickly. We all had a great time.

Run down rental - do not stay

Before booking I emailed panhandle rentals asking if the previous issues people had mentioned were fixed - because they immediately commented after every negative review saying “good news it’s being fixed” - they assured me Any issues people had were resolved. UNTRUE. We arrived to our room horribly dirty- we immediately swept wiped counters etc. I sent management photos of the amount of trash I swept up. The couches had food and stains - also sent management photos. I went to lay down with my infant on the bottom bunk at midnight because he couldn’t sleep - apparently housekeeping didn’t even change the bedding because it was COVERED with sand and I couldn’t even lay down with him. the couch as mentioned before has red ketchup stains, food crumbs, pieces of food. The pillows are all stained. The chairs in the kitchen are all disgusting and stained. I couldn’t even let my kids sit there because they looked so bad. The kitchen drawers are covered with food crumbs and jelly looking sticky stuff. The cabinets have caked on food and sticky stuff. The master room has a giant molded looking water spot where there was a leak and busted through the walls and they just left a black holes stained mess. The shower rods are completely rusted completely over and looked disgusting. The tubs had cracks of busted out parts both inside and outside the shower. The second bathroom mirror looked like it had something growing on bottom half it was rusted and barely hanging on wall. The shower head has tape on it to keep the water on- if you lose tape you lose water. The second bed was broken. You can’t even sleep on it or roll over without fear of the headboard coming detached. The two twin beds were fine for my three and four year old to sleep on - headboards broken. Patio furniture is broken. I weigh 140 pounds and was feeding my infant on patio when one of the chairs completely broke thru and the screw is hanging out. Three of the other chairs also have holes in them. We vacuumed and swept the balcony because it was also disgusting and hasn’t been cleaned. I have stayed at shores of panama for ten years with my family and we have never had this issue before - this condo is disgusting and highly do not recommend. Do not ever stay here. I’m sure panhandle will respond to my email saying “great news everything will be fixed :) :) :) cheers! “ as they have everyone else. I’ve reached out three times to panhandle and they did nothing / no response.

HORRIBLE

The property was disgusting, dirty, almost everything in the condo was broken or extremely old and nasty!!!! The employees of Shores of Panama were very rude and no help at all!! I have pictures to show how nasty everything was! We had to clean before we could even unpack!! Worst place I ever stayed!!

Too many flaws to make it worth returning

While we had a great time together with friends, there were many flaws in this condo to make it worth thinking about returning. First of all, the beds were atrocious. The master bed was hard as a rock; the second main bed creaked insanely loudly making it hard for my friend (who is a light sleeper) to be able to sleep well; the couch bed was so thin all you could feel was the springs poking through - we ended up putting down four or five extra blankets for my girls to lay on just to make it manageable; the twin beds were also not so comfy according to my teenage girls, but I didn't try them. Then there were so many remotes and they'd been moved around, so we couldn't tell what went with what tv. The ones that actually had batteries in them still wouldn't work to get the tv or dvd player to work (which on the one rainy day, we wanted to watch a movie together). As a large crew, we decided we'd cook more than eat out, but there were only 7 dinner plates and four random glasses for a condo that sleeps 10! Minor problems I guess in the long run (since thankfully we brought some paper plates and red solo cups anyway). But then the oven didn't seem to work properly either. Since there was no grill on the property, we seared some steaks on the stove top and wanted to finish them off in the oven - but it just wouldn't get hot enough! Our roasted broccoli took over an hour to just get a soft, but bright green (if you've never roasted broccoli before, it should only take about 30 minutes in a 400* oven to get to a crispy point). For what it costs for a group our size to come stay somewhere like this, we'd expect a little more. Oh, and if you're looking for a family friendly environment, this is NOT the place. There was a party down at the hot tub that after several hours of excessively loud music, vulgar language, and unnecessary dancing was finally broken up. But the following evenings were all filled with shouting and yelling from the balconies - and with the odd circular shape of the building, it just echoed even more. We will definitely look elsewhere to stay in the future.

The bed is uncomfortable making too noise need to replace, the floor need more cleaning and mopping

Loved staying at shores. Wish they’re were more elevators.

Room was nice and clean.

Worst condo in PCB at Shores of Panama

The condo was not clean and lacked kitchen essentials that you need for cooking. Peeling paint on cabinets, broken counter top that you can cut yourself on . Holes in sheet rock. Broken blender ! Itchy comforter and uncomfortable couch . Outdated and not cleaned when we got there !! Pros : on 4th floor but be prepared to use stairs instead of elevator, long waits to get on the elevator!
