Built in the 15th century, Plane Tower offers self-catering accommodation for 4 to 6 people.
Steeped in history, Plane Tower exudes an atmosphere of a bygone era. With its thick walls, battlements and steep spiral staircase, it is every inch a medieval Scottish castle.
Perfectly positioned near Stirling, Plane Castle is conveniently situated for Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as being an ideal spot to explore further north.
Accommodation is spread over four floors. Entry is at upper ground level, where there is an entrance hall leading to a well-equipped kitchen. A steep spiral staircase leads to the banqueting hall at the first floor, which has a magnificent medieval stone fireplace and a painted ceiling depicting the history of the castle.
On the second floor there are two bedrooms (a double, and a twin) and a shower room. The spiral staircase leads on up to the huge “Crown” room at the top of the tower. This top floor sitting room enjoys views out to Ben Lomond, and the Ochil Hills and can be split to provide an additional bedroom (with 2 single beds).
The tower is well equipped with all mod-cons, including central heating and double glazing – so regardless of the weather you can be assured of a warm and pleasant stay.
The extensive castle gardens include an orchard, lawns, a small lake and even a hobbit hole – making it a wonderful place for children and adults alike to explore and relax.
Plane Tower can be rented in conjunction with the adjacent Manor House to accommodate up to 14 guests in total.
Linen and towels are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.
