This property was amazing! It was super clean, the communication with the property manager prior to our stay was informative, timely, and he met us at the property when we arrived and showed us everything essential to our stay. The grounds and the house were spacious and lovely with great attention to detail. Everything in the description of the home on vrbo was accurate.Our family of 11 (5 kids ranging in age from 3 to 13, 6 adults) came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We all had a great time. The home is spacious with lots of rooms and a number of attached decks so we never felt on top of one another. The beach is lovely and the owners provided lots of well kept water toys, canoe, paddle boards. Very quiet lake. Swimmable. Kids had good time fishing off the dock and on the pontoon. Beds were comfortable.All in all I'd highly recommend this place. I really have nothing negative to say about it. We will not hesitate to go there again.

Family Stay while attending Family Reunion on Gull Lake

We knew we had found a perfect property to house our extended family. Communication with Brad [property mgr] was excellent. Property had all the amenities one needs, plenty of linens, lakeshore decorations, absolutely stunning views of lake from floor to ceiling windows, kitchen was well stocked with dishware, cooking utensils, some paper goods and spices. Lots of board games along with outdoor games. My grandkids were kept busy all day long playing in the lake with the paddleboat, kayaks, paddleboards, canoe, lilypad, diving platform,and several other lake toys. The grandkids caught crappies, sunfish and bass. Nice firepit to finish the day with smores. My personal favorite was the daily serenade by the loons on the lake.My only recommendation would be to make it more handicap accessible. There are no railings on the entrances to the cabin and bathrooms are not setup either. It is also quite steep down to the lake again without any railings.

Wonderful

The Deerwood cabin certainly lived up to our expectations for five teenagers and seven adults. The kids biked, fished, and had fun on all of the water toys provided. The house was spacious enough to accommodate all of our needs. I could not be happier with choosing this lovely cabin.

Beautiful & Peaceful Cabin

I highly recommend staying at this cabin. Stayed here with my adult kids and grandkids and everyone had a blast! The cabin was exceptionally clean, beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need for making meals. Truly the perfect home away from home vaca. Kids caught tons of fish right off the dock and we had a blast paddle boarding and kayaking. The property manager Brad was responsive and truly cares that your stay is enjoyable. We'll definitely book this cabin again!

Very big cabin with lots of room to spread out. We enjoyed that we had anything we could need available for us in the cabin, like cooking supplies, coffee makers, even linens and shampoo, soap and conditioner in the bathrooms. The lake is beautiful and quiet with a nice dock area and plenty of seating. Many different water crafts and toys available for use. Really appreciated. Overall a relaxing, stress free stay with a much appreciated, easy check out process. No worrying about deep cleaning an entire property. Very hassle free. We really enjoyed the stay and are already talking about coming back

Great up North cabin

The cabin was so clean,spacious, and had everything we needed for a bday/Mother's day family celebration. Brad was very helpful if we had any questions and easy to communicate with before and during our stay. Such a nice guy. We rented the pontoon which was great for everyone to be able to get out on the water. It is a very peaceful lake and property. Caught some bass and northerns. There's a huge eagles nest across the lake so we saw eagles every day. We drove 5 minutes into the town of Crosby. That was a super cute/fun town to explore. Overall we had an amazing trip. I'm so glad we found this cabin. It's also only 2 hrs. North of Minneapolis. Great to get out into nature and relax, eat, and celebrate :)

Absolutely Perfect

Winter get away with friends was made even better with this cabin/home. Stocked with everything and then some, comfort found in every room. Perfect for groups that want to be together yet have quiet time in the beautiful sunroom. Whether watching playoff football or playing games to walking on the frozen lake, wonderful! Checkin was a dream and awesome communication at every step. Must do again gem!

What a Great Place!!

Check in was super smooth, communication was great and property is exactly what we needed. Fishing was pretty good for Crappie and Pike. The large lake lot was fantastic and all the docks and floating diving station made for a great place for adults and kids to hang out. The lake is a little over a 100 acres and not over crowded in any way. It also has a public access ramp if you wanted to bring your own boat. The ramp or the lake was never busy anytime we were there. This place is better than the photos can show. We'll definitely look to stay here again on our next visit up. I'd book this place and never look back. You are only a few minute drive to Crosby or Deerwood. Location was perfect for us as you are so close to town but feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, I could go on and on. Great stay and management, and very clean. No complaints at all.

Great Place, Very Well Managed

Great place for extended family get together. Ton of stuff to do in the water (4 stand up paddle boards!), paddleboat, kayaks, etc., all in great condition. Place is very nice. Property manager Brad was very helpful.

Relaxing Deerwood Stay

Beautiful property, ample sleeping space, all the amenities. We really enjoyed how quiet and peaceful the lake was, well worth the trip to enjoy the quiet stay. Paddle boards, canoes, lake toys were all a hit with our group, we will stay again!

Fantastic Stay

We loved everything about this property. So much to do! Even on a rainy afternoon/evening, we found games and lots of comfortable corners to read. The water toys, docks, boats, hammocks and fire pit were all used and enjoyed. The cabin was well kept and extraordinarily clean. The property manager and owner were both easy to work with and responded quickly. Would highly recommend the property.

Wonderful Cabin with fun for all!

Three generation long weekend

On our second visit to the cabin our group of 60 year olds, 30 year olds, and a couple of kids under 4 had a great time. Opting in for the pontoon is a must. Fishing (mostly large mouth and pan fish) was quite good. Some of our group mountain biked and most of us played pickleball in Crosby. The kitchen is great. We at most of our meals there. It's a family favorite and quickly becoming a tradition.

Wonderful Winter Getaway

My family and I stayed here for a long weekend in January and it was the best winter getaway! Spacious rooms for all 4 families (8 adults and one infant). Wonderful gathering spaces to play games and watch movies all together. Also the perfect 4-season porch for anyone from the group to sneak away for a nap or quiet reading. We also really enjoyed the games in the garage such as jenga and bags. Being just minutes from Crosby is awesome as well for an afternoon out. We hope to be back again sometime soon!

Magical Christmas Vacation

We stayed at the cabin between Christmas and New Years Day. There were seven of us and the cabin was more than spacious enough for us to spread out. The cabin is extremely clean and well stocked, and the property manager was excellent as well. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property.

Amazing place, amazing PM, still waiting for feedback.

We just got back from an amazing weekend at this home, 11 ladies! Pros: * Property Manager was so great to work with, responsive * This home has everything you could possibly need for a stay, everything * Extremely clean and well taken care of * We loved that is was off the beaten path, but very short ride to all of our area favorites Opportunities - really just one * the furnace was broken, luckily it wasn’t an extremely cold weekend, and grateful for two great fireplaces. Fist morning we woke to 51 degrees, and communicated the issue. After coming out to check on the furnace around lunchtime, it was shared there wouldn’t be a possible remedy, and they would work on making it right, please use fireplaces. We were able to keep it warm with both fireplaces, however with 120 min timers, that meant taking turns turning them back on throughout the night. Not a huge deal, still an amazing time. However when I reached out while checking around 8-9am, it was shared that the owner would have to contact us. As of 5pm, we are still unable to split the bill, waiting to hear if/what a refund or consideration looks like. A bit frustrating. We understand things happen, and things break, and are super happy to solve with fireplaces. But if you’re sharing that it would be made right, please be sure to d follow up. Thank you for an amazing weekend, your home was perfect!

Best getaway for group

Relaxing beautiful property and space. 6 of us enjoyed the kitchen space, living rooms, etc. There was something for everyone whether we wanted to chill alone with a book in a quiet space, go kayak, go paddle boat, have a fire, walk, run, go into town, watch TV, hang and play games or eat together. This was our second stay and very satisfied with it.

Weekend getaway

Beautiful lake home with plenty of water activities and games (corn hole/lawn Jenga/ping pong). Close to ATV trails (must trailer wheelers). Home was immaculate with every amenity available. Would definitely come back! Great communication with host and representative. Easy check in/check out process.

Family vacation

The house and property were stunning. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. There were tons of blankets and pillows everywhere. Endless amount of books , games & activities especially for the children when you’re not out on the lake. We were so busy with the paddle boat & canoe that we didn’t feel the need to rent a boat. Fishing was great. Caught walleye, bass & crappie. But my favorite was relaxing on the deck. Amazing.

Incredible place! What an amazing experience

This is an absolute gem of a property, and it’s a truly spectacular house. My group had such an incredible stay. Everything was made so easy for us, and the amenities offered by the host truly made this an unforgettable weekend. We will absolutely look to return next summer

After retiring from the US Army, we built this cabin, living here for 13 years. In 2014, we had the opportunity to teach on the island of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. After 10 years of living on Kwajalein, we are now doing America’s Great Loop [google it]. Not living in our cabin, and not willing to put it up for sale, we decided to let others enjoy all that it has to offer.

After having traveled the world during 20+ years of active duty in the Army, we chose to build our cabin in a small town in a location that offered four distinct seasons, each with their own unique beauties. It's nice being away from life in the big city.

Local hunting and fishing are top notch. The fall colors rival that of any place on earth. You can have all that, plus the quiet beauty of a campfire on [almost private] Black Lake.
