We enjoyed having you this second time around. I'm confused about staff intrusion. We water and the landscaper comes every week. I also came when your son asked me to program the TV and when he needed help with the GFCI. Other than that and saying hi to your other son and his dog I didn't interact with anyone. I was literally not on site 13 of the 20 days you were here. The porch has furniture for porch sitting. I could have removed some if that was an issue. The geese are annoying as we live on a lake and they live here too. We keep it hosed off when we are here and the guest staying is welcome to do the same if we are not here. Rylee, our dog, keeps them off the dock when he runs free, but we don't allow him to do that if there are guests in our home. We will do better. Hope to see you again. Coincidently we were in Pennsylvania when you were here.

You were great guests and I am sorry you won't be returning. It clearly states in the description of our listing that the guest room over the garage is sometimes occupied. You would never have seen me if you hadn't come out with your dogs as I was leaving to go to work. We had a brief conversation, and I said hello to your husband on his way out. There are window coverings on all the bedroom windows and our property is surrounded by privacy fences all the way around and the water on the front. I also have other dark curtains if you need them.

Six of you stayed in a waterfront property on main lake for $250 a night. I contacted you in the middle of your stay and you said everything was great. I have stuff for ants because they can be a problem in the summer. You did not mention them and there were none present after you left. If you leave food out or dishes in the sink they will appear. As for as bugs inside and out, I noticed you had windows open without putting the screens in or using the AC. We are clear that this is our personal home and I stack one whole closet of possession into my other closet to free up space in the second closet for guests. A picture of the closet space is posted. Our cleaners are excellent, and we do a walk through before our guest arrive. If you want something more corporate and sterile I would suggest the Lake Shore Hotel. The only other two properties on the lake are the same price as we are with a permanent tenant upstairs that sleeps 4 and a one bedroom that sleeps 2 for $70 a night more than we charge. Reviews are meant to help future travelers. You don't mention the comfort of the beds, the amenities in the kitchen, the porch or dock, the barbeque or outdoor fireplace. I hope you find something to your liking. The guest the week before you just returned for their 3rd year in a row so we must be doing something right.

We do provide the parking space in front of the home. This house was built in 1927 and unfortunately closet space is tight. There are two closets in the primary and we stack everything in one of them, so our guests have access to the other.

We post a picture of the closet space available with shelves for your things. We are clear this is our home and I use one closet to store all of our clothing so it is very full. There are a couple of shelves in the kitchen available. And our guests are welcome to use the items we leave in the kitchen so they don't have to buy spices, oil, flour, rice etc. We stayed in a place in Maui last year and all of the owner's stuff was there with a 2 ft space to hang our stuff. We were fine with it. The whole purpose of vacation rentals is to allow owners a chance to share their homes with other guests for less than it would cost them to stay in a hotel, and to let the owner make some money. I agree 100% I did refund part of their money as we finally had contractors show up after waiting for months after losing our boathouse and having the yard torn up during the storm in January. When contractors show up you don't turn them away. It was not every day they were there fortunately. They were the sweetest family/

Sorry about the spiders but living on the water is where they like to be. We do knock down the spiderwebs but they can be back in an hour. The use of the trash bins are marked on the bins but I will take your suggestion and write out a manual for the home. Our home is completely surrounded by foilage except for the back bedrooms which do have curtains. We love the scenery so we don't cover it up with window coverings but that is a matter of choice. The film company that taped the new Pretty Little Liars spin-off put up window coverings and asked if we wanted to keep them but we declined because the beauty of living there is being able to see out to the lake in the twelve foot Hedges that surround the property . The garage and the apartment above are not included in the rental and as you said she was quiet as a mouse and lots of times we stay on the property. The patio table should have been cleaned but when the gardener comes then it gets dusty again. I just cleaned it yesterday for our new guest so I hope it made it through the day. Thanks for your feedback we try to make it better all the time. It's a cabin on the lake designed for kids and dogs as it says in our promo. It also says in our promo that there is plenty of firewood for both fireplaces so of course you could have used the firewood. Thanks for the review we strive to make it better all the time.

This is the kind of review that I expected from this guest.This is our home.We are very clear about that.

I am so sorry the home was not what you expected. I want to address your issues in the order written. Three days previous to your moving in you contacted me and asked in you could bank some of the days of the second week of your stay as you had an opportunity to take a different trip. When I went to respond the following day you said to never mind. The title of this review indicates that you expected something different than what we are. I say in my description that this is a cozy home for kids and dogs or relaxing and that if you want the Taj Mahal this is not it. There are homes on this street that have sold up to 6 million. Our house is not one of them. The house is 100 years old, has a great fire place and is located on level lake front. Several of our reviews indicate its cabin feel. Which brings us to the geese. Sometimes they come up into the yard. When you text me about "the goose poop" I immediately went out to assess the situation. I expected to find fluid feces but instead found about 45 firm turds. I am so sorry your dog stepped on one. I text you and apologized and told you I was on my way to pick up my power washer and was happy to power wash the grounds and dock but you said not to bother as you were leaving. I also explained that my yard person had been sick with Covid and was coming on Saturday to do the yard. (the day before you said you were leaving) They did come and the yard looked fabulous when he left. He was back on Monday to prepare the yard for spring plantings. Unfortunately we do not do a lot of yard work in December and January due to the weather. I don't know what hoarding you mean unless you are talking about the patio furniture, cushions and corn hole stacked under the porch stored for the winter. There is no mold in either bathroom. All bathrooms are treated with bleach between guests to sanitize. The washer and dryer is in the basement and the stairs to the basement are sturdy with a handrail. As to me residing in the second dwelling -sometimes we are here. It states clearly that the apartment over the garage could be occupied. We are very unobtrusive so that might be why you think I was unfriendly. While the guests are here the house belongs to them. I knocked on the door the first day, introduced myself, and handed the you a throw blanket that had been washed and belonged to the house. Some people like to interact and if they call or text us we are quick to reply otherwise we try to stay away. Our booking rules are clear and we do count on the income or we would not rent our own home out to others to enjoy. The yard people were here less than 12 hours from when I was made aware of your "geese poop" problem. I try very hard to make our guests feel comfortable and to remedy any problem that arises. I would hate to see anyone not use VRBO. I have stayed in some places that far exceeded my expectations and some where I have been disappointed. Because of that I try to be VERY clear about what to expect here. I am a Premier host and I have worked hard to become one.
