My wife and I and two children (ages 16 and 19) had a great stay here. The
cottage is lovely, a comfortable size, well furnished, clean, and quiet - the
only sounds are an occasional car, the birds, a rooster, and a braying donkey.
The village is very quaint and peaceful. The village is small and we only saw a
few people; we were up and gone most days.
It is in a great location for accessing many destinations: castles, chateaus,
bastides, fortified Romanesque churches, prehistoric caves, medieval cities,
wineries, great views, etc.
There is no store or Tabac in the village so the breakfast baguette and
croissant need to be purchased the day before in St. Cyprien or elsewhere. The
temperature was in the upper 70s to low eighties while we were there. The kids
said the loft area was fine for sleeping so long as the provided fan was
running. Going from the loft to the bathroom in the basement in the dark of the
night requires turning on a light or bringing a flashlight or nightlight. The
bathroom (sink and shower) are separate from the toilet room, which helps when
there are four in the cottage.
The parking is not right at the cottage but in the village square about 200
yards/meters away along a pathway at the base of the chateau wall. The village
square was not as large as our pre-visit mental picture, but we were able to
park fine every day but one, and on that day we parked in the village parking
area by the cemetery which is only an extra 200 yards/meters from the square and
that worked out fine.
The owner is very pleasant and helpful and quickly responded to questions.
We highly recommend the rental.
