Red Cuillin Cabin on riverbank

Secluded spacious cabin, enveloped in trees, located at the side of the banks of the Garbh Allt (Scottish Gaelic for Rough River).
5 minute drive to the town of Broadford (Supermarket, Restaurants, Shops, and a bar or two).
As the name implies, RCC is located at the foothills of the Cuillins, Corbets.
One can walk to the other side of Skye through Strathmhor (Scottish Gaelic for Big Valley); a most wonderful walk in the footsteps of Bonnie Prince Charlie fleeing the English.
Should you wish, I can provide a cultural tour; an amble around an original Viking Settlement, with examples of Pictish foundations upon which subsequent buildings were positioned.

Exactly what we expected warm cozy and great location. Eion our host was very kind and generous with his knowledge of the island and steered us in directions and places to explore that we were most grateful to follow up on. We had 7 days there and had full days everyday no matter the weather to beautiful locations. Island of Raasay was a standout for us. Then to come back to the cabin was restful and really appreciated washing machine & dryer. Most places don’t provide. Jon & Jude Tasmania Australia

A very affordable, cozy cabin with everything we needed during our stay on Skye. Despite my wife and I's hectic schedule, Eoin was very accommodating. It rained for most of our stay so we didn't get to use the fire pit or sit outside much, but relaxing in the cabin after a day of hiking and navigating Skye's roads - which was overrun with fellow tourists and could be quite stressful at times - was extremely comforting and a wonderful place to read a book. I wasn't entirely sure what I needed to do when checking out, but I hope I did everything properly. Thanks again for everything, Eoin. I'll send you that goat picture I took soon.

Eoin was the best host so far, he welcomed us personally and showed us around. The place is lovely and we felt really at home. Nice and cosy . There were a lot of books about Scotland for information what to see and do and Eoin gave us a lot of good tips as well.There was a lot of decoration, maybe a bit to much because it's not easy to clean it all and you could see that. Eoin took us to his land and we could feed the sheep and he told and showed us the settlements in his garden. That was really interesting. We had a wonderful time.

A charming cabin filled with eclectic decor and Scottish history! Very well equipped cabin with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Eoin was a wonderful host who made it a point to get to know us and offer tips of things to do and see on Isle of Skye. True Scottish hospitality!!

I loved staying here! The cabin was bigger than I expected and everything was clean and cozy. The space has all the amenities you could need for a trip! The outdoor space is very private and scenic. Despite being close to a main road, it was quiet and peaceful. Eoin is also just a lovely host with some great recommendations of hidden gems to visit. I also really appreciated the central location. I would return given the chance!

Enjoyed having place to ourselves, and able to make meals. Host showed us around, and gave some good hiking suggestions, and let us help feed the sheep! Good for people who don’t mind a quirky place to stay , and don’t need internet/wifi. Not far from town to get groceries at co-op.

Unique experience

We stayed 3 nights and was greeted each morning by a sheep peeping down from the hill while we had our coffee.The washer and dryer were great and we were able to cook easily with all the appliances provided.

Amazing!

While a bit off the beaten path and rustic, our stay here was amazing! Eoin, the owner showed us around, told us some local history and even let us feed his sheep and see the newborn lambs. He also let us watch his dog Midge work the sheep. He is a wonderful host! Highly recommended!

We loved our stay here, it really felt like you could shut the world out and relax. The cabin was beautiful and unique; so thoughtfully decorated with interesting items as well as having everything we needed. The garden was a great extra space and the new firepit was an added bonus. We loved sitting out and watching the bats in the evening. Eoin was easy to contact. We really appreciated him sharing his knowledge of the area and it's history. It made our time there special.

Delightful, quirky property with everything needed for a short stay. The host was very welcoming and even left us a bottle of wine and some fudge. He also came out to meet us on the road just to make sure we didn't miss the entrance. We very much enjoyed our stay, especially the quiet location which was only a short drive to the centre of Broadford. The bed was comfortable and we particularly liked the luxury linen. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone desiring a peaceful retreat near some great restaurants and spectacular scenery.

My stay at this little cabin on the Isle of Skye was pure magic. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed so warmly by the host, who not only gave me a lovely tour but also shared local insights that made exploring the island even more special.The garden felt like a sanctuary — peaceful, grounding, and touched with that unmistakable Skye energy, where nature and fairy magic meet. The minimal phone reception turned out to be a blessing, offering the perfect chance to disconnect and just be.This cabin has such soul and character. I’d recommend it to anyone seeking stillness, beauty, and a true escape from the noise of everyday life.

The cabin is utterly unique with each room's wall covered with art all of a kind and so quirky and wonderful. the cabin is smaller than I expected but very cozy. The kitchen is equipped with everything you'd need which is handy as you are 5 miles from the nearest restaurant or cafe and grocery store. The settee has seen better days and was not a comfortable place to read although I made do. When I was there the sheep in the one pen were worrying and calls I made to the host about what, if anything, I should do went directly to a voicemail box and were not returned which made me uneasy.. Also the window for check in was only one hour and as I was traveling by rental car from Inverness and I was a little uncertain about exact timing - I was there within the window- it created anxiety for me. But it was a very good time that I had and I'm sure others will too.

Thank you for your comments on the RCC which were largely complimentary. Re the "seen better days settee". It is actually an expensive antique, older than America and is correctly known as a settle. Admittedly not for the larger person but there is a comfortable armchair also which you could have used? Re ewes. When you arrived I introduced you to "Susie", the ewe and her two lambs in the pen. I also explained to you that she was the Houdini of all ewes escaping out everywhere and was kept in the pens for her own safety where she was well watered and well fed. As you are from the city of Chicago, a city not given to sheep husbandry, my explanations obviously fell on deaf ears . I received your calls but as I visited Susie several times a day when you were out I saw little point in responding. Re arrival times. All holiday lets have an expected time for guests arriving and I am no exception. Where I differ from most is that I meet guests personally, introduce them to the cabin and give them suggestions of places on Skye non - touristy and more interesting than the usual. I live a considerable distance from the RCC and cannot hang around indefinitely .

Cosy & in a good location with a friendly and informative host. Storm Amy brought rain and wind and power outages as we travelled to Elon’s cabin on Isle of Skye. It also brought a very proud and friendly host in Eoin, sharing his knowledge and history as well as his cabin. We appreciated the welcoming gifts which included wine, flowers and biscuits! And his suggestions on lesser know parts of the island to visit (which we did!). Washer and dryer were a huge help, the kitchen had all appliances/equipment and the local coop has everything you might need for food. Waking up to see sheep on the hill and listening to the creek was a wonderful way to start the day- especially when we were able to have coffee outside (weather permitting). There is no internet- get off your phone and enjoy where you are!! -there are many books, maps and decor to keep you busy as you plan your visit or relax after a day of touring/hiking. Our schedule didn’t permit seeing Eoin’s current project - but we hope others in the future provide photos. And- how many sheep did you count in the bedroom…?Highly recommend Red Cullin Cabin!
