APARTMENT SAX SOPRANO - Marinella Pomonte

LOCATION:
the house, completely renovated in 2024, is located a few steps from the smooth white granite cliffs and the main beach of Pomonte, in pebbles and gravel of various sizes, which characterize the towns of Pomonte and Chiessi, small gems on the western coast of the Island of Elba, the Costa del Sole, on the border between the Municipality of Marciana and the Municipality of Campo nell’Elba. You will really have the sea just a few steps away!

THE ROOMS:
Sax Soprano is on the first floor of a 2-storey villa, both owned by us and rented for holidays (on the raised ground floor the Sax Tenore apartment), it has 4 beds (+1 possible cot for newborns or bed for children up to 135 cm) distributed as follows:
- main double bedroom with the possibility of adding a cot for a baby
- second double bedroom with a double bed that can be split into 2 separate singles at the guests' preference
- 2 complete bathrooms both with shower and bidet, modern and finely furnished, one with a window accessible directly from the main bedroom, the other accessible via a hallway from the living area
- living area with a modern designer kitchen with induction hob, fan oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, with a complete supply of dishes and pots for 4 people, with a large extendable internal table, with a comfortable sofa, TV
- washing machine positioned in the hallway, with a cordless vacuum cleaner.
From Sax Soprano you will have a beautiful view of the sea from all the rooms.

THE SEA VIEW BALCONY:
The apartment is accessed from Via dei Musicanti, on the east side of the villa, via a flight of stairs that immediately leads to the balcony that flanks the east side and the south side of the house. The balcony is exclusive to the apartment and has an exceptional view of the sea and the red roofs in Marseille tiles typical of the Tuscan coast. The balcony is partially shaded and equipped with chairs, a smaller extendable table and deckchairs. From the balcony you access the apartment via a single-leaf glass French window.

COMFORT AND SYSTEMS:
The apartment has air conditioning in the 3 habitable rooms, a TV with Tivusat decoder and Amazon Firestick, free WIFI.
The house is completely Full Electric, with a new solar thermal system for domestic hot water with hot water storage up to 280 liters and a recirculation system for instant hot water immediately at the tap. Newly installed water softener.

PARKING:
The house cannot be reached by car, it is located on an exclusively pedestrian street paved in granite, so it does not have a private car park in the immediate vicinity. However, in the village there are public car parks and free street parking spaces where you can leave your vehicle indefinitely without worries, located from 2 minutes to a maximum of 5-7 minutes on foot from the apartment. For guests who absolutely need a reserved parking space, there is the possibility of renting an unshaded parking space in the most central area of ​​the village (check availability depending on the period).

PET FRIENDLY:
Animals are welcome if they are used to living in an apartment and cannot be abandoned in the house or on the balcony alone without the presence of their owners. On Elba Island you can take your four-legged friends to almost all the beaches, even to the bathing establishments, respecting a few simple rules on bathing (which vary depending on the municipality and on which we will give you more information), you can take them with you to the shops, restaurants and above all on our beautiful paths where they will certainly be happier.

POMONTE
Pomonte is a characteristic seaside village divided between the Municipalities of Marciana and Campo nell’Elba, on the western coast of the Island of Elba, known for tourism as the Costa del Sole, which from the slopes of Monte Capanne lies on the sea revealing a land characterized by a rich biodiversity, warmed by the sun until its unmissable breathtaking sunset on Corsica. Pomonte is a picturesque village divided between the sea and the mountains that form a precious frame to the valley of the same name, crossed by ditches, streams and old mule tracks, now transformed into paths for hikers among the Mediterranean scrub that historically allowed the peasant inhabitants to reach the persistent terraces cultivated with heroic vineyards.
Pomonte is also a perfect base for visiting Elba and its thousand natural facets, with a return home galvanized by the most beautiful sunset visible on the Island.

THE WRECK
The main attraction of Pomonte is the Elviscot Wreck, a merchant ship that sank in 1972 near the Ogliera rock. Just 160 meters from the shore, it is easily reached by swimming and offers a thrilling spectacle; the two parts of the wreck lie on a seabed of about 12 meters, but the control cabin reaches almost 2 meters just below the surface. The wreck has been chosen as the home of all the local fish and you can enjoy a unique spectacle immersed among hundreds of saddled breams and damselfish in a splendid blue water.

THE BEACHES OF POMONTE
THE “WRECK BEACH” is made up of small dark pebbles, is not very large and is largely occupied by a beach resort under concession (from June to September).
THE “SPIAGGIA DELLE SCALETTE” is the easiest to reach in the country, it is made up of pebbles and white granite gravel of various sizes, it is completely free, with easy access to the sea even for the smallest children.
The northernmost part of the Pomonte coast is characterized by a large smooth white granite cliff, “IL CALELLO”, with slightly sloping seabeds that allow easy descent and ascent from the water.
THE “SPIAGGIA DELL'OGLIERA” is the wildest and almost always with very few people even in August, because it is more difficult to reach, going down from the provincial road with a short steep path or from the same Spiaggia del Relitto along the cliff entering the sea up to a meter. It is made up of dark pebbles.

TREKKING AND OUTDOOR
Pomonte is not just sea, for those who love trekking or for mountain-bike experts there are numerous marked paths that go up the mountains and offer a wonderful view of the entire Tuscan archipelago and Corsica.

SHOPS
In the village there are all the essential shops: minimarket, tobacconist, newsagent, pharmacy, ice cream shop, two bakeries, beach and diving clothing, typical products, three bars, pizza by the slice, kiosk on the beach, a restaurant with a terrace on the rocks, hotel with 2 restaurants attached and open to all.
During the months of July, August and September, village festivals are organized where you can find local dishes based on fish or game.

THE WESTERN COAST OF THE ISLAND OF ELBA
If it is your first time on the Costa del Sole you cannot miss the famous sandy beaches of Fetovaia, Seccheto, Cavoli, Sant'Andrea and the very long beach of Marina di Campo. The medieval villages of Marciana and Poggio on the north side, San Piero and Sant'Ilario to the south. Marciana Marina, a pretty town with a tourist port and Marina di Campo, larger towns where most of the nightlife of the island is located and all kinds of shops for shopping that are also open in the evening.
