The whole of the south facing area is a large open terrace and pool deck, with sun loungers and outdoor furniture. A sunken dining area offers a cozy and communal experience with a circular arrangement for comfortable seating. This is perfect for a casual leisurely meal while enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
A second dining table with seating for 6 can be found in the side garden next to the built-in barebcue.
Villa Adagio is set below the village of Prazeres in Calheta. Here you will find a selection of restaurants and cafés, and a supermarket within a radius of between two and three kilometres. Prazeres is also a great base for walking in Madeira, either along levadas or hiking, with easy access to the local expressway and to the Paul da serra plateau. The resot of Calheta is 9 Km away, and the picturesque surfing mecca of Jardim do Mar 8 Km away. A 50 minute drive takes you to Funchal, and Palheiro Golf and the airport are under one hour away.

Swimming pool heating:
Heating is optional and costs 245,00€ per week for 24ºC, paid in cash on arrival.
A supplement of 35,00€ per week applies for each additional degree up to a maximum of 26ºC
Pool heating can be provided and should be requested at least one week in advance. Should it be requested after arrival at the villa, the minimum charge applicable is one week, which is payable from the time the heating is turned on.

Nearby
Villa Adagio is set below the village of Prazeres, Calheta. The nearest facilities (a bakery and café) are a mere 2,4 km away. The Village centre is only 2,7 km away and here you can find three café/restaurants and the medical centre), as well as the local supermarket.
Prazeres is also a great base for walking in Madeira, either along levadas or hiking, with easy access to the local expressway and to the Paul da Serra plateau.
The pharmacy of Estreito da Calheta can be found 6.6 km away.
It is 13 Km to the resort town of Calheta, with its man-made golden sandy beach. Here you will, find a selection of cafés, restaurants, a larger branded supermarket, the marina (offering boat trips and dolphin watching), banks and a chemist.
A 10-minute drive will take you to either of the two surfing meccas of Jardim do Mar and Paul do Mar, at sea level and with trendy café-bars (try the caipirinhas and mojitos).
Funchal is an easy 50-minutes’ drive and the airport under one hour along the motorway.

Cleaning
The property is prepared for your arrival. For stays of longer than 7 nights, a change of linen and towels, and light mid-stay cleaning of bathrooms is provided on a day and time to be advised at check-in.
All linen and towels are provided, including towels for the swimming pool.
For health reasons, linen for a baby cot is not provided and you should bring your own.
Guests need to vacate the villa during a mid-stay clean and change of linen.

Booking Notes
The rental value varies with the number of people occupying the property, so please ensure you enter the correct dates, number of adults, children and infants. Please note that supplements apply should additional people join you for any length of time.
To secure your reservation we require a 30% deposit, or the full amount if you are arriving within 8 weeks. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
A security deposit of 500€ is required by credit card prior to check-in.
Final details for check-in and driving instructions to the property will be sent 7 days prior to arrival and once you have paid your balance. A contact number will be provided, and to be able to access the property, you need to phone this number as you are leaving the airport. It is your responsibility to contact and advise the number provided on the check-in details to advise any delays to the expected check-in time.
Check-in times - at the property - are between 16H00 and 19H00. For Sunday arrivals and out of hours check-in, alternative arrangements will be made, and an additional cost will apply. Check-in and check-out flexibility will be applied where possible, but this will depend on housekeeping schedules and the departure and arrival days of other guests either side of your stay; a definitive answer can only be provided within 24 hours of your arrival for check-in and of your departure for check-out.
Pool and garden maintenance will take place during your stay. The days and approximate times will be shown.

Villa Adágio is equipped with several outdoor CCTV cameras: one facing the main gate, one facing the garage, one overlooking the backyard and BBQ area, and one directed toward the pool, which is covered for privacy concerns. There is also a camera positioned toward the kitchen area.

A tourist tax is payable by all visitors to Madeira aged 13 or over, and costs 2€ per person per day up to a maximum of 14€ per person. This will be charged by credit card prior to your arrival.
