Alghero, a place of fusion between Sardinian and Catalan culture, is the ideal destination to visit the splendid beaches of the north-west, such as the closest Maria Pia, Lazzaretto, Bombarde, Mugoni, Porto Ferro (especially for surf lovers), Stintino and Asinara. In the summer there is a shuttle service that takes you to the most beautiful beaches. Getting around the city is easy, walking along the seafront in 15 minutes you can reach the historic center of the city and the bus station while 5 minutes away is the train station.
