Let me start by saying we loved the lake and surrounding area, it was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, our experience with Jolly Mon was very frustrating due to constant issues throughout our stay.
Within the first hour after check in, my nephew nearly fell down the steep stairs between the cabin and lower cart path when one of the stairs collapsed.
The stove sparked the first day we turned it on to make breakfast and blew out the electricity to the entire house. We were initially told to reset the fuse and use an electrical double burner to cook, which is completely unacceptable for a rental holding 19 people.
It was clear that no one vacuumed the upstairs rooms and one of the bunk beds had a pee stain on it.
Several bed frames were loose/broken.
The stove was replaced, the stair was fixed, and 2 bed frames were fixed fairly quickly, however this added stress to our trip as we had to continually contact the maintenance guy.
The most frustrating problem though was the air conditioners. The upstairs unit stopped working everyday, the first three days, then lower A/C unit broke on the fourth day. You cannot make this stuff up. We have stayed at many VRBO units and have never had so many issues.
We had over 50 text messages exchanged with Chad the maintenance guy related to all of the problems and our entire family of 19 knew his name.
There were only 9 towels available for a unit claiming to sleep 28, the Kuerig was broken, there were rotten boards on the deck, the carpet throughout is stained and filthy, three of the outdoor chairs were broken, and the handle on the sliding glass door from the dining room snapped off in my 10-year-old niece’s hand. Overall, the decks are very worn and in need of replacement boards, a good power washing, and fresh paint. We spent hours communicating about these problems including explaining in great detail what was going on… all while trying to enjoy our vacation.
The owner was responsive while this was all happening but when we summarized all of the problems after our stay we unfortunately had no response.
