Chambers Oceanfront Cottages on Somes Sound was founded nearly 40 years ago by Don & Marilyn Chambers. They built their reputable vacation rental business on one of the most beautiful spots on Mount Desert Island. My wife and I (Paul & Ashlee Grindle) have been involved with many aspects of Chambers Cottages for several years, helping out behind the scenes, and learning the business. In 2012 we purchased Chambers Cottages, and we are very excited as we enter the 2022 season. As natives to the area, Ashlee & I take pride in the service and hospitality we provide. We are very proud and honored to continue in Don & Marilyn's footsteps, delivering quality, cleanliness, and anything we can do to make your stay the best possible! Putting forth our best efforts, our mission is to maintain the highest of standards and service which Don & Marilyn have provided for over 40 years.

Sounderosa Cottage on Somes Sound is very unique due to the fact it is a private, secluded, well appointed cottage within 150' from the Ocean. You will not find cottages this close to deep water ocean frontage anywhere on the Island which are as nicely appointed as Chambers Cottages. Views across Somes Sound at Acadia National Park property are rich in lush foliage with rolling mountains, and unforgettable sunrise / sunsets. Granite fire place, and a large patio. We go the extra step to insure you have all the comforts of home: from pot holders, to spices, cookware, soap, detergent & a lobster kettle. For comfort and convenience, each cottage comes with Heat / Air Conditioning and WiFi.

Chambers Oceanfront Cottages on Somes Sound offers deep Water Dock & Moorings for your boat, fishing from the dock, row boat, lobsters available from our dock, below competitive pricing for similar properties in the area, and unlimited access to our shore front to enjoy all the ocean has to offer.
