We only spent one full day and did not fully experience all that was on offer in the Forest of Dean, however the property was fully equipped and the hosts provided us with abundant and clear information on everything. We were so comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We’re Zoe and James, the founders Willow Forest Stays. Wyldwood Cottage is a favourite of ours. Perched on the edge of the forest with lovely views and a quirky upside-down layout, it’s the kind of place where you can curl up, slow down, and let the outside world drift away. We’ve added all the little comforts we’d want ourselves—from a private hot tub and enclosed garden to reclining sofas, superfast Wi-Fi, and a log-effect fire for that cosy evening glow.

As local hosts, we’re always on hand if you need anything—whether it’s help with the hot tub or tips for the best dog-friendly pub nearby.

The cottage has a lovely, quirky charm with its upside-down layout—living space above to make the most of the light and outlook, and cosy bedrooms below for a peaceful night’s sleep. It felt like the perfect canvas to create something special for couples, families and dogs.

We’ve added all the touches we know make a difference when you’re away: an eco-friendly hot tub for starry soaks, an enclosed garden, comfy reclining sofas, fast Wi-Fi, and a cosy electric fire to curl up beside in the evenings.

It’s peaceful, practical and well placed for exploring the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas. Whether you're heading off for adventures or want to enjoy slow mornings and quiet evenings, Wyldwood Cottage offers that lovely mix of comfort and freedom.
